Vallecito has a beautiful reservoir surrounded by mountains and is only a 30-minute drive away. Enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, or spending a day out on the boat. Pagosa Hot Springs Spa (the world’s largest natural hot springs) is 55 minutes away and Wolf Creek Ski Area is a beautiful 1 hour and 20-minute drive to the East. Purgatory Ski Resort and Durango Hot Springs and Spa are just under an hour to the northwest. Take the Durango-Silverton train for a scenic ride to historic Silverton or spend a day learning about the Southern Ute Indian Tribe in Ignacio at the Cultural Center. The Sky Ute Casino is always a great time! Don't forget Mesa Verde National Park, a World Heritage Site, and International Dark Sky Park, it is just 55-minutes away. It is a 700-year-old site of the Ancestral Pueblo people with thousands of species, including several that live nowhere else on earth!
