Furnished tastefully by an award-winning interior designer, this large home has three separate living areas, a large back deck facing Old Rag, five lovely bedrooms, reliable wifi, and three large-screen, streaming televisions, all powered by the solar panels installed behind the barn. Enjoy Blue Ridge and Etlan valley views from every window, surrounded by bucolic country homes and farms, and stroll the extensive, open grounds on grassy, walking paths. This is a perfect place to escape, relax, and enjoy life’s simple pleasures together. The kitchen is open-design and well-equipped. There are cozy seating areas and tables for dining or games, indoors and out. Hiking is a favorite activity in the area—the Old Rag trailhead is only five minutes away—and easy access to many other trails abound in nearby Shenandoah National Park. Wonderful wineries and breweries, quaint shops, and award-winning restaurants are short drives away also, in the charming towns and villages of Sperryville, Little Washington, Culpeper, etc. This is a perfect home for family gatherings and time with old friends, a place to soak up mountain and meadow beauty, refresh and recharge.

We stayed at the property over Thanksgiving and the following weekend with the goal of making a traditional holiday meal, spending time with family, and visiting Shenandoah National Park. The house and location fit our plans perfectly, serving as an ideal midpoint for three different households. The home was comfortable, well-equipped, and in a great setting. Doug was easy to communicate with throughout. We would gladly stay here again and would recommend it to others.

I chose this house because of its location -- very close to my parents's house -- as I and extended family were gathering for a funeral. We did not have time to take advantage of the many activities nearby, but we did enjoy the views. This house was very comfortable. It is obvious that a lot of thought has been put into the amenities as we could not think of one thing lacking. The kitchen is certainly one of more well stocked kitchens I have ever seen. We will be back, hopefully for longer and a more joyous occasion.

Great access to Old Rag

Great stay and the house is as advertised. Close proximity to the Old Rag trail, and it served our purposes well. Would recommend to anyone looking to explore the Shenandoah National park.

Great fall trip with family

Clean, comfortable place

Our family enjoyed staying here for a family wedding weekend. The kitchen was well stocked and the place was very clean. The beds were comfortable and there was a lot of space for the 7 of us to spend time together. Thank you for a great stay!

Beautiful home

This home was so beautiful and very family oriented. We had the best time here and Doug was so flexible with check in time and made it so we didn’t have to rush to get ready for my brothers rehearsal dinner. We would definitely stay here again and enjoyed are stay very much.

Shenandoah hikes

Very clean and comfortable house. Location was beautiful with wonderful scenic views. Plenty of supplies included with house such as condiments, cleaning products, paper products and towels.

Great house for visiting SNP

The house was great for our large party (ages 4-60s). It was in a great location for exploring SNP and visiting wineries and historical sites. There was plenty of room to spread out and we enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets from the covered back deck. Doug was great at communicating, would definitely recommend the home!

Wonderful, way above expectations

This property was sparkling clean, updated, and better in person. The view from the back deck could not be beaten. All the attendees were thrilled and commented many times that it was a great rental house. Doug was super responsive and provided everything we needed. Would love to stay again!

Weekend getaway

Fantastic weekend with the fam. Overall, we fit 8 people very comfortably, including one infant. Check-in was a breeze and the house was even nicer in person. We talked in coming back for years to come!

Awesome place for a getaway with friends or family!

My friends and I had a great time staying at this house. There are plenty of spaces for everyone to gather together but also for folks to break off it they want to read a book, take care of some work, or play games. We enjoyed the ping pong table and the fire pit. The kitchen had all the tools and dishes we needed to cook several meals - probably the best-stocked kitchen I've ever seen for a rental property. Doug made everything easy and replied quickly to any questions we had. I highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful Countryside Home!

If your wanting a relax beautiful Mountain View place to stay then this home is it! They have everything you need for a gateway stay! It was so relaxing and the views was breathtaking! The house was super clean and cozy. If we’re ever in town again I would book it again!

Stayed for a high school reunion

We stayed with several friends for our high school reunion. Lovely home with excellent views of Old Rag Mountain. We spent many hours having coffee then wine on the back deck just talking a enjoying the quiet.

Wedding weekend

We could not have chosen a better place to stay. The house is spacious, comfortable, charming and equipped with everything but food. The house is also located close to many vineyards and breweries and it has stunning 360 views of the surrounding mountains.

Fantastic House for a Family Gathering

Our family gathered in Virginia for a family wedding. The family members staying in this house ranged from 9 months old to 90 years old. This house suited everyone’s needs. It was very clean, well-stocked with anything we might need from kitchen supplies to laundry supplies to games and puzzles. I appreciate your little touches as well such as outlet safety covers. The view from the front and back of the house was spectacular. We all agreed that it was an amazing house.

Beautiful home!

We stayed in this beautiful home over labor day weekend. The house is gorgeous, beautifully decorated and well maintained. It had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch and looking out at the mountains. Apart from one night ordering pizza from the local pizza place, we cooked our meals at home in this well stocked kitchen. We also enjoyed making smores in the firepit. Overall, one our our absolute favorite vacations.
