Butterfly Park Retreat #6 - Centrally located to Decorah's Top Attractions!

Welcome to the quaint community of Decorah. This getaway is located steps from the local attractions including the Butterfly Park, Pulpit Rock Brewery, Landing Market, Whippy Dip, and Vesterheim Museum to name a few. The property is located near the Upper Iowa River ideal for fly fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and tubing. The Trout Run Trail is a picturesque path passing along dikes and abandoned rail beds ideal for biking, walking, and running.

Description of space:
The master bedroom includes a king bed that can be reconfigured into two XL twins beds upon request. The second bedroom includes a queen bed. The living room includes a queen pull out sofa. Open kitchen concept is fully stocked with dishes, cookware, utensils, oils, Keurig coffee and tea. Washer and dryer located outside the unit and available for use during your stay. Additional amenities include Wi-Fi, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, iron, and ironing board. A Pack'n Play available upon request.

This was a gem of a location! We came to kayak the Upper Iowa and had no idea the property would be this convenient! They thought of everything and made our stay worth talking about. We will definitely be back!!

Good Nordic Fest weekend even with the heat and humidity thanks to this rental property. Little things like the snack basket and Fest brochure on the table added much to the experience. The large folder explaining how to do things in the apartment was quite helpful. We will stay again next year.

beautiful apartment

This is an immaculate apartment with everything you need for a stay. Pam has provided amenities like snacks and toiletries that you may want or need during your stay. The kitchen utensils, pans, and knives are high quality if you want to cook from scratch while you are there. The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood and within walking distance of the business district, trails, and restaurants.

This place is close to Luther and minutes from downtown. It had two nice bedrooms and a great kitchen stocked well with kitchenware. We already plan to stay here again.

Excellent Home Away from Home!

Butterfly Park Retreat #6 was a convenient place to stay on my research trip to Vesterheim. It was quiet, clean, spacious, and the hosts thought of every little detail from complimentary snacks, to extra travel sized toiletries in case I forgot something. The cozy apartment was perfect for relaxing between research days, and right next to a restored prairie on the river with good walking trails. Check in and out process was super easy and hosts were communicative when I had questions. Would definitely stay again when I'm back in Decorah!

Cozy and convenient

We were in town for a family reunion. The VRBO location was just minutes from each place we needed to be. We also had time to bike the Trout Run Trail and to bike to the breweries.

Gravel bike getaway to Decorah

Decorah is a hidden gem of a town, and every trip there is memorable. Our stay the Butterfly Park Retreat #6 was exactly was our group of 3 needed. The pull-out sofa was very comfortable, and we all slept well each night. Great location close to downtown Decorah, where we walked for dinner one night.

Delightful Girls' Getaway Weekend

This was a perfect location for all the fun things to do in Decorah! Check in was easy. The apartment was nicely decorated and many little touches were appreciated. The property was quiet and we got great sleep on the comfy beds. Thank you Pam! See you again!

Wedding weekend in NE Iowa

This property more than met our needs for my wife, adult daughter and I!! The location was close to everything we needed. The thought the owners had for all the extra details was the best we had ever seen when staying at a VRBO…snacks to waters in the frig to extra toiletries to laundry supplies including coins to run the washer and dryer. Decorah is a hidden small town gem in Iowa - great beer at Toppling Goliath and Pulpit Rock, pizza at Luna Valley Farms and Mabe’s, ice cream at the Whippy Dip…a block to the south we found a public prairie garden which had great walking and prairie education.

Just what we needed

The Butterfly Park Retreat was just what our family needed. It provides well appointed common and kitchen space in a quiet neighborhood near the river. The hosts were welcoming and divided the king bed into two twins so that my teen and tween didn't have to share--and gave mom and dad a space of their own too. It's clear the hosts take a lot of pride and care in this property. There a lot of careful details and provided items that are often overlooked in other properties. Will definitely stay here again!

My husband and I were born and raised in northeast Iowa and have raised our family in Decorah. Decorah has a strong Norwegian heritage with Nordic Fest being an annual event. Our youngest son is a Nordic Dancer. Every 5 years tryouts are held to form the junior group. The kids who are selected are in the program for 10 years. Nordic Dancers perform at various event throughout the summer with the final 5 performances during Nordic Fest. The family photo was taken after his last performance in which he was both exhausted and relieved that he was finished for the year. Our son has close family support with everyone making the trek back home to enjoy the festivities and support their younger brother.

We are the owners of 12 buildings- 92 rental units in Decorah. We believe our experience with rental properties and a cleaning crew make vacation rentals a natural fit. We have additional adjacent units available allowing larger groups to book in close proximity to one another.

We have turned 1of the 12 buildings primarily into vacation rentals. The units are recently remodeled and are centrally located to the Butterfly Park/Prairie Garden, bike trails, Luther College, Downtown, Parks, and local breweries.
