Rubicon Adventure Lodge in Tahoma

Amazing location for every season! Minutes to beaches, bike trails, ski resorts, or for those off road enthusiasts the beginning of Rubicon Trail is just up the road.

This large remodeled home features four bedrooms and sits in a quiet neighborhood in Homewood. Step into a beautifully appointed living room with large, wood burning fireplace and high vaulted ceilings connected to the open loft. Adjacent is the dining room and updated kitchen with space for families to cook together, walk out to the back deck and find the hot tub below the pines. This main floor includes a queen bedroom, bathroom, and laundry/mud room leading to the garage. Please note this home is not equipped with shades or other window coverings.

The second level has a open loft family room with ample space to relax, the primary king ensuite, two queen bedrooms, and bathroom.

Parking:
Parking is available for 3 cars total. One car in the garage and 2 in the driveway. No street parking per county ordinance.
Prepare for mountain or winter weather driving in winter months. This may mean Four wheel drive with snow tires or chains. Check weather or road reports. AWD and 4WD necessary to get up the mountain roads and some driveways in the winter months.

Other things to Note:
* Renters must be 25+
* This is a non-smoking home.
* Maximum Occupancy per county ordinance is 8 adults.
* Use of the BBQ and outdoor furniture is not guaranteed in winter months, due to limited access.
* Like most homes/condos in Tahoe, this one does not have Air Conditioning. There will be fans available for your use!
* Your safety matters. This property ,may features exterior security cameras. The cameras are outward facing and do not look into interior spaces. The cameras will continuously record video and sound while guests are in residence.

Wedding weekend

The house was wonderful. Very clean except the sheets in the master bedroom had dog hair all over them so we changed them. We wish we could have enjoyed the place a bit more, but we were there for our daughter’s wedding and so we were very busy elsewhere.

Summer Family Fun

The location was great, but that was about it. The bed sheets were old and the master comforter was torn. Pillows were also old and needed to be replaced. None of the windows had curtains or shades or anything- so nobody could sleep in. Literally no privacy in the bedrooms. When we arrived we couldn’t get in, as we didn’t realize there were 3 lock boxes. Had to wait an hour for a call back from rental manager to get in.

The overall property was good. Check in process would have been better. The driveway was completely iced up and slippery when we arrived. Had to spend 1 hour in the cold shoveling snow and removing ice so that I could park my car safely.

When we were not out playing in the lake, hiking or exploring the surrounding areas, most of our time was out on the deck (which is lovely), cooking in the well appointed kitchen and enjoying the hot tub.We did have quite a bit of bear activity. A few walked right through the yard and one even came up to the kitchen window (just a bit unnerving) to see what was cooking.Overall, it was a great experience and we would like to visit this house again in the future.

spacious and spotless ski house

The home is beautiful and recently remodeled with impeccable kitchen and bathrooms. Heater worked well to keep the house warm. Five stars overall with the following suggestions for improvement: —king bed in master bedroom is sinking. We had to move to the downstairs bedroom after a sleepless night there —one bed in upstairs bedroom had not had sheets changed from the prior guest —back door to the hot tub cannot be left unlocked and we locked ourselves out when using the hot tub (thankfully averted disaster by locking the front door) One of the wonderful things about this home is the quiet neighborhood and that it’s across the street from a large forest that was wonderful to explore and play in during the winter for our family.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Outside the home was great. I was not impressed with the home. The home did not have any window treatments at all on the windows. It felt uneasy without even a curtain to close. There was a leak of melting snow over the kitchen countertop that constantly leaked water. A lot of the receptacles in the kitchen did not work.
