Tucked away on a wooded lot with a charming country feel, The Dorothy offers the perfect place to recharge from the rhythm of city life. Centrally located near everything SW Michigan is known for—wineries, beaches, breweries, hiking, fishing, restaurants, wedding venues, and more—you’ll be close to it all while still enjoying quiet comfort.

Welcome Home is our motto...warm and quaint, our space will feel like HOME!
Located on a private 2.5-acre wooded lot, overlooking a beautiful ravine, you feel away from it all yet right in town. Perfect for 4 adults but can accommodate up to 6 adults. The entire home is newly painted. Immaculate and organized with new flooring in the kitchen, dining, and bathroom, the rest is original, rustic hardwood. The kitchen has a complimentary coffee bar, new appliances, and a small dining area; renovated bathroom with full bathtub/shower; two bedrooms- both with a Queen size bed, TV, and large walk-in closet; open living room and sitting area with two Full size futons and large TV. High-speed internet with each TV having streaming capabilities- Netflix, Prime, Hulu, and more.

Our basement includes a pool, ping pong, foosball and game tables, tiki bar, darts, and putting green. Our electric fireplace will keep you toasty warm during our colder months.
The outdoor space has a lighted patio, plenty of seating, a dining table, a fire pit, gas and charcoal grills, and yard games!

By far our favorite place we have ever stayed. Impressive, something for everyone. No need to have something else nearby to do, just go enjoy this property. The home and property make you relax wether you like it or not. Immaculately maintained. You can see and feel the love that has been put into it everywhere you look. We were visiting family in the area and the teens and adults both enjoyed the game room area and numerous things to do. We found the home to be very comfortable, decorated tastefully and all amenities were provided. The yard and outside area is beautiful. There is plenty of privacy. The home is close to shopping, restaurants and recreation. Property access was easy and the owners were very communication and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our five days at this property.

Beautiful, well kept home on a wooded lot. You can tell the owners really care about their property from the little details that they put into their home. The amenities are fabulous from the game room in the basement to the patio & grill area, no detail was overlooked and we wanted for nothing. When we plan our next trip to the area, we’ll definitely check to see if The Dorothy is available.

Charming house, great location

This was an adorably renovated home to stay in for our quick and impromptu visit to Michigan, with some of the nostalgic touches of the home left intact, which I loved because it brought me back to the days growing up visiting at my Memaws! I only wish that I could have stayed longer and hopefully next time when the weather is better...that being said, this is the perfect vacay home full of entertainment for bad weather days- the basement game room was great, a favorite by the whole family! This house had everything stocked that we could have needed, nice coffee/tea station provided, and quick response time from the owner. It is in a cute little quiet neighborhood, and close to several sites and cute beaches. Five stars in my opinion, and we will be back to stay for longer! Thanks guys!

The house was in a nice neighborhood and close to so many things including Lake Michigan. Property was very well kept and VERY clean. Game Basement was nice since it was a little snowy. Loved the character of the house. Owners responded quickly. We had a very comfortable stay.

Immaculate property inside and out

We were impressed with the perfect landscaping and cleanliness of the house. The outdoor living space was very nice. We wish we would have had time to use the firepit. The wood logs and starters were all nicely available. We appreciated the host's responsiveness and clear communication.

The perfect place

My family and I stayed at the Dorothy for a Sunday through Tuesday night. The place had everything we needed and ask the extra amenities that made the stay awesome! We had a fire in the backyard every night and the kids played games in the basement every chance they got. It was only a 15 minute drive to a perfect day at Silver Beach. The Dorothy even got rave reviews from teenagers!! We cannot wait to return.

The Dorothy was wonderful

It’s a great location to spend time with the family. Close to all the St Joseph area attractions and very relaxed place to spend your down time. We had s’mores by the fire after a long day of beaches. Everything was carefully curated by the excellent hosts. Definitely would recommend.

While staying here, we found everything we would need/want. Our family had fun playing provided outdoor games, and using the grill and fire pit. It was very clean, and such a cute place. We would definitely stay again!
