The Bird- Lovely 2 Bed Home in the Garden, Great Location

This charming home greets you with a front garden full of desert plants. Inside, there is a sweet open concept living room ( with full size fold out bed), dining space with seats for 6, and stocked kitchen. One bedroom has a queen bed, the other has two twin beds. You will love the charming decor and a fabulous location on a quiet tree lined street that is walkable to grocery stores, the River walk, and restaurants. Please note there is a small studio behind the garage that is rented separately.
Other things to note
Note that there is a studio apartment onsite as well that is rented separately. Yard and laundry and parking are shared spaces with the studio apartment.

Comfortable Beds!

This was a convenient and comfortable place to stay while visiting Carlsbad Caverns. Everything we needed for our stay was provided. The neighborhood is quiet.

Exactly what we needed

We only needed the house for 1 night and It had everything we needed. The house is in a quiet/calm neighborhood and we felt safe.

Week vacation in NM

My friend and I spent a week traveling NM and stayed here after visiting Carlsbad caverns. It’s a really cute house, the area felt very safe, and it’s by plenty of food and grocery stores. Would definitely stay again if I’m ever in the area!

Perfect

This sweet little house had everything we needed. The host was incredibly accommodating while we struggled to get here due to a big storm that closed many roads. Getting in and out was easy and stress free. We had plenty of space to park and getting around town was easy peasy. Stay at the Bird House.

Enjoyed our stay here

Nicely kept house in a quiet neighborhood. Within walking distance of an Albertsons grocery store. Very reasonable considering the current cost of a motel room in Carlsbad these days.

Great location, nice house, would rent again without any hesitations

Second time staying here. House is in a nice quiet neighborhood away from the main thoroughfares. Nice Albertsons Market grocery store a few blocks away. House was very clean. Good place to park your vehicle off the road, just don't park under the tree if you want to keep your vehicle free of bird droppings. Wifi can be a bit finicky, had to reset a few times. Be careful if you reset, the wifi's shared with the other tenant (who stays in a separate unit) on the property. Would definitely consider staying here again.

BYO… Everything.

The property is Pinterest-cute, but lots lacking. The home looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for the better part of a year, and as we were going to bed, we realized the linens had been slept in (unclean). The refrigerator was unplugged, and we didn’t feel like pulling it out to plug it back in, so we just didn’t use it. There was about 1/3 of a roll of toilet paper available to us, with no backups found. We had to buy some at the family dollar around the corner. Beyond that, our stay was lovely. The home is in a quiet neighborhood, convenient to a number of local shops/cafes. The property served as a lovely getaway for us; it would have been 5 stars had it been clean and better stocked.

washing machine disaster and poor communication

Had to contact the person several times to get the code to the door. Was told washer was broken but would be fixed by next day when we arrived. I said OK great because we definitely need to do laundry when we get there. We arrived after dark and washer is outside in back. I put a load in and went to bed. In the morning I could not get the washer door to unlock, had to unplug it and then when I opened the door, water rushed out and the smell was awful. I called and the response was, guess the handyman did not get the new one delivered. I had to ask if they could do anything for us since this was a major inconvenience. So I was refunded a 40 dollar cleaning fee. However, the stench was so bad in the clothes even after we rinsed them out with the hose that I had to wash them 3 times in the hotel we stayed in next and that cost me 16 dollars. Also, someone, I assume the handyman, came into the house while we were not there (understand it is their property and they have a right to come in, but think we should have been informed prior to). Then at 10:10 am the morning we were leaving, we got a text saying, just a reminder that check -out time is 10. Listing clearly says check-out is 11. I know things break and stuff happens, but I feel that the communication here was very poor...I specifically said we needed to do laundry, why not let me know the washer did not get fixed, and no apologies at all. Very poorly stocked kitchen too. First bad Vrbo experience, hope the last.
