Perfect

We were so happy with everything about our stay. The apartment is adorable. The shower is as amazing as all the reviews say. The drive to the house is picturesque. It’s far enough from town to feel relaxed but close enough that you are just a few minutes away from everything you want/need. Highly recommended.

My hubby and I wanted to visit Charleston and had no idea where to stay. The hotels were so expensive. This home was so clean, entirely updates, cozy and so comfortable! Everything we needed was there. We highly recommend! We explored other areas and everywhere we went - we were 15-20 min away--

Hidden Gem lives up to its name

There is nothing better following a harrowing trip of plane delays than finally making it to your bnb and having it surpass your expectations! This space was immaculate, beautifully decorated and had every amenity under the sun. The beds and linens on them were so comfortable and the pillows were just right. There were plenty of fluffy, great smelling towels and a steam shower that was responsible for the best shower I ever experienced in my life ! I can’t wait to visit again!

Very comfortable & clean

Host was very helpful and communicative. Excellent Stay! Loved the tea & coffee options, beds were super comfy, shower was a treat !! Loved how clean everything was!

Honest review

I wasnt going to leave a review but have decided otherwise. This rental is real close to everything (beach, restaurants, shopping etc.) The one thing that would make this an ideal rental for everyone of all ages would be to figure out how to have a bathroom (toilet and sink) downstairs. Inconvenient to have to climb the stairs to use the bathroom. Upstairs shower was one of the best we have seen. Lots of water pressure. We had every amenity we needed for the week

More than expected!

This place was great! We wanted to be between Folly and Charleston so we could conveniently do both and this was perfect! The house is off the beaten path so no traffic and noise but you are back on the main road in minutes. You can tell there was a lot of time, money and love put into this place. It is so clean, unique and the shower is amazing! The extra touches of shampoo, body wash, soaps and a few snacks and waters are so nice! Alex was very responsive and provided a lot of extra information on the area which was so helpful. We hope to be back very soon!

Lovely , tranquil, bran new !

Such a wonderful location in a bran new like space, owners are super friendly, attentive and welcoming. Including plush linens, new beds, awesome parking. Full size refrigerator and dish washer including washer/dryer. Everything needed is here for a comfortable stay. Private and secluded yet close to lots of great places to eat. Pictures do not do it justice! We look forward to coming back and apreciate Alex and family's low country hospitality!! 10 stars given. Nicest on VRBO!

Perfect for what we needed!

This property was exactly what we needed for our Charleston getaway. 4 adults (2 couples) comfortably shared the 2 bedroom/1 bath space. The shower is awesome-- love the rain shower head. Extremely clean and Alexandria was great at communicated before/during the stay. Great proximity to Charleston-- easy 10 minute drive. We enjoyed using the downstairs/common room area in the evening to relax. Heads up-- you have to walk through one of the bedrooms to access the other bedroom, which was fine for us since it was two sisters and their spouses. Thank you Alexandria for the perfect stay!

Girls weekend

Me, my sister, my Mom and best friend stayed the weekend. A hidden gem. Only drawback was with 4 females, sometimes having just the one bathroom, could be inconvenient, but would not deter us from staying again. The one bathroom is spectacular though with the extra large shower! Location was ideal as my daughter lived just a few minutes away from us. Give yourself a little extra time to go to the beach, as the traffic was very heavy and took a good bit longer than expected, but again, it would not deter us from staying again!

Quick trip for mom's 80th bday!

The property is super cute! If you want to be a very short distance to downtown Charleston without the downtown price, this is perfect! Alex was great and quick to respond to my questions prior to my trip. We will be back!

We love Charleston and we are excited to share it's beauty with you! I live on the property with my husband, Ryan and our toddler, Nya. We spent our 20s Downtown before moving down the road to James Island. We have plenty of recommendations and tips for a great stay. Questions...just ask! We respond quickly! We can't wait to host you!

It would be ideal to have a car while staying with us. It is a scenic 10-15 minute drive to Downtown or Folly Beach (without heavy traffic). There are also awesome restaurants that are less than a 5 minute drive away. Because we are off the beaten path, few options are walkable.

***We DO NOT offer a full-size oven OR microwave! We have a full range gas stovetop, and combination toaster/air fryer for crisping, warming and re-heating! Instead of frozen pizzas...we recommend ordering in from awesome, local pizza spots: Paisano's, Fam's Brewery or Crust!

***First floor is living area and laundry. Second floor is bathroom and bedrooms. ***Must climb stairs to access bathroom and bedroom. Not suitable for guests with limited mobility.

We do not offer a patio area or outdoor seating. There is plenty of space to roam the surrounding area and go on walks along our neighborhood's quaint dirt road. However, we do not have a designated patio for guests at this moment.

This property is for the nature lovers. We live as a family here, so for our privacy, we do not include exterior photos. PLEASE REQUEST exterior photos upon booking if knowledge of the outside aesthetics of the property are a priority of our stay. We maintain landscaping bi-weekly and mosquito fogging every three weeks. We prefer our property to have a woodsy vibe, and purposefully do not chop down or cut back all of the beautiful foliage that is lush and green! This is a coastal, woodsy hideaway - not a basic or corporatized King St. adjacent downtown Charleston stay. You can view the map below to see our neighborhood's proximity to the water. The Town of James Island is a beautiful setting in South Carolina with rich history. Nestled amongst the waters of the Charleston Harbor and the meandering Stono and Folly Rivers, James Island boasts scenic marsh views and majestic trees. Once covered in farmland, James Island is now primarily a residential community that has managed to protect that small-town feel its residents and visitors enjoy. Our place is no exception. You'll feel like you're way away from it all as you travel down the dirt road to our house, but soon realize that is not the case as we are close to Charleston's hot spots and coastline.
