Peaceful Mountaintop Cottage

Nestled between Tracy City and Monteagle, hike the trails, visit Sewanee, experience Tennessee, or canoe and fish on the private lake.

This home features 3 private bedrooms (one king, 2 doubles), 2 full baths, as well as a loft with 4 twin beds. The house sits on a small lake shared with a few neighbors that is perfect for a quiet canoe ride or fishing crappie.

A back deck overlooks the spacious yard with a firepit perfect for cool mountain nights.

Just 2 miles down the road, the Fiery Gizzard trail brings experienced hikers to the area. Fabulous and well-known trails surround the house, making it a great base camp. The house is also only 10 miles from the unique Caverns music venue, where concerts are held in a cave.

Sewanee, The University of the South, lies 15 minutes away and we welcome alumni and parents to stay.

We enjoyed our stay very much! The owners are very accommodating and lovely to work with.The house is nestled on a lake with woods all around it and it was so peaceful sitting around the fire by the lake.The owners provide everything you need and it's a lovely place to stay for a getaway!

The house has a strange odor. We killed 3 roaches while we were there. The loft bedroom is just the attic, with all the heat and humidity of an attic. There’s also no paved driveway or sidewalk up to the house. The master bedroom was nice and canoeing on the lake was great.

Great Base for Caverns Concert

My family felt very comfortable at this home for our brief stay in the area for a concert at the Caverns. It was an economical and good choice!

Great Spot

We had a group in town to see a show at the Caverns. The property had everything we needed and we enjoyed our stay. We will definitely look to stay here next time we are in the area.

A True Home Away from Home

Peaceful and quiet. The family area is great! Beds sleep great and the pond is a nice feature. It’s close to Monteagle and local attractions. We went to a concert at The Caverns which a just 5 miles away. It was like home away from home. Great experience.

Lovely Thanksgiving Stay

Spent Thanksgiving week at the home. Had everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving feast. Beautiful decor. It was pretty cold, but the heat worked great and the bedding was cozy. Our pup was very happy. Would definitely stay again. Trivia night at Hank's was so much fun! again.TriviaWoulhappy..verhappy.happy.

The best VRBO stay ever

This charming house is all personality. It is bigger than the pictures make it seem and filled to the brim with amenities and plenty of space for your group to spread out. The backyard, porch and firepit on the lake with its own canoe seal the deal that this is easily the best house I've ever VRBO'd. The host was attentive and full of great knowledge of things to see and do in the area. Whether you're using it as a home base for a concert at Pelham or a jumping off point to explore the gorgeous South Cumberland State Park, you will find no better spot than this. Truly a special place.

Comfortable well furnished home in great location

We stayed at this lovely home for Sewanee graduation weekend. The drive to campus was 12-15 min. The home sits on a small lake and has a comfortable and peaceful back deck we enjoyed. The decor was nearly all antique and very tastefully and artfully arranged. The beds were super comfortable, kitchen well furnished, master bath humongous and other bath acceptably sized. The loft looked awesome for kids, although we had no small children with our party. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again to hike and enjoy other aspects of the region. Blinds in the bedrooms and bathrooms would be a nice addition.

10/10 stay!!

We booked this property last minute for a Caverns event due to the close proximity. Our trip started with one minor hiccup that was out of the owner’s control, but she and her daughter worked to quickly resolve the problem late at night. The house is very spacious and has a lot of character. The decor and furniture is all meticulously curated and well laid out (this is not your typical Ikea/wayfair filled rental!!) The guys loved being able to paddle around pond out back and the girls loved the spacious master bathroom and vanity area to get ready in. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!
