Shalom Chamo is a culmination of 3 years of planning, and blood sweat and tears of its two owners. The name Shalom Chamo is a blend of the owners’ original languages, one being from Israel and the other from Venezuela. Shalom is originally a Hebrew word and has become internationally recognized meaning peace, hello and good-bye. The word Chamo, comes from Venezuela and it is a slang commonly used to mean either kid, or friend.

This property is nestled a mere 2 kilometers from the town of Uvita, Costa Rica and Rio Higueron. This places it a 2–3-minute driving distance from all activities in town when driving or 20-25 minutes walking distance. This makes it an ideal and extremely convenient location to get to restaurants, supermarkets, car rentals, beaches, etc. There’s also an ATV rental place just up a hop skip and a jump a few houses up the street.
The Shalom Chamo complex is comprised of 3 rental units with access to river Higueron.

The first unit is 5x7 meters (377 square feet). There are 2 additional units that are 5x8 meters (16x26 feet). As the centerpiece of the property, there is a beautiful 4x10 meters (13x33 foot) pool, adjoined by a staffed outdoor kitchen where a modest breakfast and lunch are served. In this area besides enjoying the views of the pool, guests can also access internet and charge their devices. Across from the kitchen and on the other side of the pool, you will find an outdoor shower.
The modern 5x7 unit, were designed with the intent of capturing the essence of Costa Rica’s rich sun lit days as well as wildlife. This unit is fully furnished equipped with a single Queen size bed, full kitchen (comprised of coffee maker, stove, oven, blender, fridge, etc.), a living room and bathroom. Each unit has a beautifully vaulted ceiling, a skylight, ceiling fan and air conditioning. For the times when you just feel like enjoying the outdoor weather, there is a small sitting area in the front of the unit. For some late-night family fun, we also equipped the rooms with some Board games.
The modern 5x8 units, have been designed with similar intent as the 5x7 units, are also fully furnished and contain 2 Queen size beds, full kitchen (comprised of coffee maker, stove, oven, blender, fridge, etc.), living room and bathroom. Each unit has a beautifully vaulted ceiling, skylight, ceiling fan and air conditioning. For the times when you just feel like enjoying the outdoor weather, there is a small sitting area just in the front of the unit. For late night fun we also equipped the rooms with some board games.
For the nature lover, we also have a small sitting area in the rear of the property for you to enjoy a relaxing moment where you can commune with nature, read a book, pick some fruits from our fruit trees or just enjoy some music on your phone or laptop.
For long term rental guests (longer than a month), a washer and dryer are available on a set schedule.
