Fantastic all-seasons vacation spot in “up north” Michigan! This peaceful lakefront cottage sleeps 12 for a perfect getaway for a girls’ weekend, golf outings, romantic getaways, or your whole family.

3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, open living room with fireplace and smart TV, dining table seats 6, basement with ping pong, foosball, and laundry. Bedroom 1 on the main floor has a queen bed. Bedroom 2 upstairs has a queen bed. Bedroom 3 upstairs features 3 double beds. Also a queen bed in the basement.

Summer: Enjoy the outdoors from all 3 levels: covered porch and 2 balconies, walkout from basement. Eat lunch at the picnic table, play at the sandy beach, and toast s’mores at the fire pit on the double lot with 200 feet of waterfront. Explore no-wake Fawn Lake by kayak or paddle board. (There are 2 of each.) Find life jackets, fishing poles, beach toys, cornhole and bocci in the shed along with both gas and charcoal grills.

Bringing your pontoon or speedboat? All-sports Heart Lake has a public access around the bend and 8-mile long Otsego Lake is 2 miles up the road. Enjoy Otsego State Park or walk 1 mile to a playground, basketball courts, and nature trail.

Fall and Spring: You never know what weather Michigan might bring during these seasons. You may enjoy some extra lake time in the fall or get in one last downhill ski trip in the spring. You can always count on golfing during these scenic seasons. The Ridge, The Loon, The Lakes, Otsego Club, Gaylord Country Club & Treetops are just a few of the many public courses nearby.

Winter: Access Trail 7 at the end of the road and head all the way to Mackinac or enjoy miles and miles of local groomed and marked snowmobile trails. Room for your trailer of sleds on property or rent locally. Skiing options galore: Otsego and Treetops (15 minutes), Schuss Mountain at Shanty Creek and Boyne Mountain (30 minutes). Boyne Mountain also offers an indoor water park.

We accept both short and long term rental stays. We can offer special rates for month or longer stays. Whatever the season or length of stay, we look forward to having you.

Loved getting up and kayaking/paddle boarding on the lake. The house was well laid out and the kids loved the foosball and table tennis in the basement. Really peaceful visit!

Returning Visitors

This is our second year at this house and it was as wonderful as we remembered! Having a well stocked kitchen in terms of cookware and dinnerware means we just have to bring the food and we're ready to go. There are plenty of games, books, DVDs, streaming subscriptions, etc. to keep you busy if the weather isn't great. There's a park less than a mile away that we've enjoyed during both of our trips. The beach is perfect for young children as it's shallow for a little ways out past the dock. There are chairs/benches around the fire pit but we did bring our own this year as they aren't super comfy for long evenings by the fire. The house is located close to the highway so you can hear that background noise. However, that's not a dealbreaker for us especially with how great everything else is. We'll be back next year!

We put 9 people here and still felt like we had room to stretch out. Having Fawn Lake right there was excellent and the provided kayaks and paddle boards were perfect. We originally had planned to stay on nearby, larger Otsego but I think we lucked out on getting this place. Quieter, set back from the main road, a private beach, and no wake lake meant a lot less chaos. Jason was responsive and communicative for one little snag we had that ultimately didn't impact our stay at all. Check in and check out instructions were easy and clear to follow. I LOVED the little detail of having the light switches labelled throughout the house! My one and only gripe would be that the doorknobs for the two upstairs doors need some adjusting as they both frequently got stuck, requiring some aggressive shaking to get back open. Stay here if you plan to visit Otsego Lake/Gaylord!

Cozy cottage with woodsy surroundings

We had another amazing stay at this lake home. This was our third time staying here and we can foresee more in the future. This home is perfect for our family of 12. Very cozy, well equipped with all the items you might need inside and outside. Plenty of room for everyone to have a bed to sleep in. We love it here because it is right on the lake but the area outside also feels like you are still in the woods, so you can hang up your hammocks, and have big campfires. There is also a big covered porch on the house so you can still be outside when the sun is hot or even if it’s raining. This years bonus was a bald eagle. We loved watching the eagle each day. It would circle around and around the lake and swoop down and catch fish. The kids and the adults loved it. Highly recommend this home to everyone!!

Great place, all around.

Beautiful property. Perfect view of the lake from both balconies and outdoor area. Very nice and clean interior (including bathroom, which wasn’t shown in pics) with great kitchen appliances. Lots of sleeping space and excellent WiFi. Booking and check in were problem-free. Owner was very fast to respond to questions. Highly recommended and would love to stay again in the future.

Relaxing home away from home

My family of 7 very much enjoyed utilizing this property as a home away from home. :-) The property amenities were clean, well thought out and homey. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed ping pong, foosball, paddle boarding and kayaking. This was such a great experience for all of them! This busy mom appreciated all of the options for porch sitting with a good book and the ability to still ensure the kiddos were safe and happy. :-) The nearby town of Waters also captivated us as a glimpse into small town northern Michigan life. We made a couple of trips for ice cream, dinner and the Labor Day festivities. The property host was a great communicator that even offered us early check in and late check out based on his rentals calendar. A super thoughtful guy all around! Overall, we are so glad we chose this property for some R & R. :-)

Lake house

Was a great get away from the rush of everyday life fishing didnt serve us very good but it was a quiet area and we visited the call of the wild museum

Wonderful Place

I can't say enough good things about this place. It is so beautiful. It was so clean and well stocked with everything. Our family enjoyed the paddle boards and kayaks. We also enjoyed the indoor games and the nice porch and great view of the lake. Our host was very friendly and quick to respond. We had a wonderful stay.

Perfect vacation

This has been a top 3 vacation for my family. Everything from communication with Jason to the check in to the check out was flawless, easy and enjoyable. The house is extremely clean and is stocked with everything that you will need for your stay such as plenty of linen and more then enough dishes and cookware. Jason also provides plenty of toys for the kids to enjoy in the water as well as the kayaks and paddle boards which were a blast. The lake didn't disappoint either as it was a perfect temperature the entire time. The fish were biting and the gentle wind kept any bugs away. Thank you so much Jason for letting us stay at your lake house and we can't wait to visit again next year.

We had 4 adults, 7 kids stay and it was a amazing amount of room. Kids were well entertained between the option to fish, swim or play outside. Lake is quiet, and beautiful loons swam by often. My kids had nothing but amazing things to say about where we stayed. We would highly consider staying here again, if we take another trip to that area.

Good central location

Aside from dirty towels hanging in the bathroom, the house was clean. The lake itself was peaceful, but there's 24/7 road noise from all the vehicles traveling on I75. With that beind said, It was a great central location for day trips we had planned. What we disliked the most was all the cameras. There's a doorbell type camera at the front door, theres a camera facing down on the front porch, and a camera facing the beach area. Basically every place you would enjoy being when you're outside, you're being watched on camera. We did enjoy the kayaks and SUPs and my son caught some nice bass. If you can sleep through road noise from the interstate and dont mind being watched when you're outside, it's a good choice

Hello! Thank you for considering our "Lake House" for your next vacation. We currently live downstate in Rochester Hills, MI. Our up north is Gaylord where we have a small family cottage just 10 minutes away from the "Lake House" on Manuka Lake. We have 3 kids and extended family that have enjoyed this area with us since 2017. When we decided to purchase a property as a rental, it was an easy choice to buy here, as we wanted people to enjoy many of the same experiences that we have when we vacation. We wanted a place that makes a family smile as soon as they pull in the driveway. I had pictures in my mind of kids getting out of the car, running to the dock to check out the water, then running into the house to look around and choose which bed they were going to sleep in. Whether it's summer days on the water and evening bonfires or winter days snowmobiling, skiing, and family games inside, I hope you come experience some of the things that we love about vacationing in Gaylord.

We love the quiet neighborhood the "Lake House" is in. The lake is calm and perfect for kayaks and paddle boarding. The shallow beach area offers peace of mind while your young children play. Both adults and children can enjoy catching fish from the dock. You can take a walk down the road and always get a friendly wave from the neighbors. There is a park down the road for kids to play basketball or swing.

From the beautiful views of the lake from the balconies in the spring and summer, the colorful leaves on the trees across the lake in the fall, or having space to park your trailers/sleds while being close to the main trail, the "Lake House" is perfect for your next family vacation.
