Desert Rose es una casa aislada frente al mar en el Monticello Estate de 5 acres. Se alza directamente sobre una de las playas más hermosas de la isla, famosa por la increíble arena rosa y el agua turquesa.

Disfrute de las fantásticas vistas del Océano Atlántico. La gran playa Tiki Hut y la terraza son una oportunidad única para disfrutar del paraíso desde muy cerca. Brisas frescas, aguas cristalinas, árboles Palmetto y playas de kilómetros de largo son lo que experimentará al hospedarse en Monticello - Desert Rose.

Desert Rose es una cabaña de dos habitaciones y un baño. El dormitorio principal tiene una cama king y una habitación adicional tiene una litera doble. Todas las habitaciones tienen ventiladores de techo y aire acondicionado separados. El salón tiene un sofá grande, así como televisión por satélite, reproductor de DVD y equipo de música. We wanted ourselves a place on the beach and that's exactly what we got with this cute little place. The road getting in was a little wild but we got used to it pretty quickly. The house had everything we could need and the beach out front was fantastic. If you're wanting a beach front house, look no further.

MUCH appreciated privacy and needed tranquility. If you're looking to recharge and see stunning sunrises, sunsets and waves lapping the beautiful shore...this is it. My third time to Eleuthera. If there's a fourth...here's where I'll be.

An outstanding spot; the views and tranquility were everything we had hoped for. The Eleuthera Island Farm was a great spot for fresh baked goods and other provisions that made hanging out a joy. Highly recommended:)

Excellent Location and Terrific House

This property is very clean, well-kept, and the owner and property manager are very friendly and helpful. The beach is fantastic and pleasantly private for the most part. Highly recommend this property!

If peace and quiet is what you need you will find it here…one of the best beaches on the island all to yourself only saw five people on it while there….Good food, good people a great sunrise….

Amazing getaway

The property was spectacular. Who could ever complain about this property. We stayed put for the time there. The beach was so gorgeous The house was perfect for just my wife and I. We stayed at a small house 2 properties down the beach 15 years ago. Thank you very much for your hospitality Wonderful memories were made.

If there was ever a place that you could absolutely relax among the most beautiful ocean and mostly deserted beach, this is the place. Every time you look out at the crystal clear green ocean, you want to take another picture. The location is in mid-island so close to numerous very good restaurants, I only wish some were closer to our home in Pa. Can't wait to get back

Great property!

It was a wonderful location and the home itself was also nice, great deck! The beach was beautiful. I wasn’t aware that I needed to bring things like toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, trash bags and things of that nature. However, I probably should have asked and all of those things are available in a short drive.

2nd Honeymoon Stay

Desert Rose was terrific from start to finish. The cozy house sits atop a beautifully turquois piece of the Atlantic ocean. Perfect for what we wanted...to simply relax and be in the surroundings of a largely untrafficed island. Given the central location of the property on Eluthera we traveled the island from top to bottom and enjoyed all of our adventuring and dining. Dont hesitate to book this sweet spot for a romantic, private getaway! Wed love to return. Thank you!

Property is amazing! If you’re seeking solitude you can find it here. We spent 7 days and didn’t see people on the beach at the house. There is literally endless empty beaches on this island. I would say that dining is pretty expensive and limited, as is grocery shopping. Other than that, it’s a dream.

Amazing Amazing Amazing!!!

Dealing with Barbara was an amazing experience from start to finish. Our trip in 2020 got canceled from COVID-19 and she quickly offered us a full credit or refund. A lot of people lost there money but not us, thanks again Barbara! our favorite part was the house itself and how easy it is to get to Governors Harbour. We are already planning a trip for next year and cant wait!

We had a lovely stay at this wonderful house right on the ocean. The view was stunning. The house had everything you could need and both the caretaker and owner were very responsive. It was really nice to have a generator because the power has gone out for periods both times we have visited the island. Eleuthera is one of our favorite Islands with amazingly beautiful beaches that are never crowded. The locals are so welcoming and kind. I highly recommend the a visit and the location of this beach front home is close to restaurants and shops. We had such a great experience that we already booked another trip to Eleuthera with this owner.

We just returned from a 9-day stay in Eleuthera, and WOW—what an unforgettable experience. The home was absolutely beautiful, perfectly situated right on the beach with breathtaking views out there windows. We’ve stayed in a lot of vacation homes over the years, but this one truly had everything we needed.The beach itself was pristine—calm, clear, and peaceful. We spent almost every day right there, under the little tiki-style shade structure on the concrete pad. It was such a perfect spot to relax, read, and take in the view that we hardly felt the need to explore other beaches!The house was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. We did have a minor issue with one of the A/C units the first two nights, but the owners were incredibly responsive and had someone there right away to check on it. During our stay, there was actually a nearby fire (a little exciting and a little scary!), and again, the owners were very attentive and proactive in checking on us.Winnie, the caretaker, was also wonderful—so kind, helpful, and responsive throughout our stay. Check-in and check-out were seamless.We already can’t wait to come back. This is hands down one of the best places we’ve ever stayed, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Huge thanks to the owners for making our time in Eleuthera so special!

Best Island Ever!

The Island is wonderful, but the property is vey beautiful, private and pristine. There an issue with a bridge leading to the property upon our arrival. The community stepped up and gave us a place to hang out as well as taking many people across the water around the bridge. The property manager was so understanding and sweet even though we were almost four hours late! The ocean was turquoise and silky very swimable. Fantastic! All of it. Food is very expensive so if you're able to, pack some!!

Fantastic!

Desert Rose is a comfy, cozy, clean cottage set up perfectly for a couple. It is equipped with everything you need for the beach: cooler, nice beach chairs, umbrella (which we really appreciated because a lot of beaches do not have any shade), washer and dryer, wash line for hanging wet clothes, outdoor shower for cleaning up beach gear. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking anything. The view of the ocean from the outside decks and inside as well is just spectacular! The beach tiki hut provides welcome shade along with a place to store your stuff while swimming, walking or kayaking. You can hear the waves at night which makes for great sleeping. The beach really is one of the best on the island and it was difficult to leave to explore other areas. Tippys, Buccaneer Club, Bacchus Find Foods and Governor's Harbor are just a short drive away. We have rented many VRBO's and this was one of our favorites!

This is our first time renting a house right on the beach after visiting Eleuthera every year since 2013. Desert Rose was perfect. Even though we ate out every night, it has every imaginable item you need for cooking and grilling at home. The beach was perfect ~ so breathtaking. The photos don't do it justice. This is the first year we never ventured out to any of the other beaches for snorkeling. We used to go to Ten Bay or Gaulding Cay for a snorkel. Not this year. Even on the windy days, we stayed right on our beach and boogie boarded or body surfed like two kids, or simply just went for our walks up and down the beautiful stretch of beach. We hardly saw anyone else during our two-week stay. Barbara was great. She answered all my silly questions when I had asked about the reefs in front. I did muster up enough courage to snorkel them. Mrs. Williams was great as well. We didn't need to reach out to her after our initial meeting. I do suggest trying Unique Village for dinner. It's off the beaten path further south and you need GPS for directions, but the food that Chef Chris prepares is delicious. Buccaneer is also one of our favorites. Potlatch opened up while we were there but never got the chance to try it. I can't wait to come back next year!

Perfect place to relax and find restoration! So peaceful and comfortable!

My husband and I absolutely loved every minute of our stay at Monticello. The views and the wonderful places to sit and reflect and enjoy the long walks on the beach still deeply move our beings! What a respite! We loved the covered deck that sits on a knoll overlooking the house and grounds and the ocean. What a spectacular spot to unwind with a glass of wine, apples and cheese. The cool breezes were refreshing! The curly tail lizards were fun to watch as we shared little bits of apple. The house itself was perfect for the two of us. The bed was so comfortable so we rested well in the cool of the a/c. All the appliances and facilities worked perfectly. The grocery stores had what we were wanting and we also found a good selection of wines. We rented a car from Central Auto and fell in love with the owners...Margaret Nixon and her husband. She shared her book of poetry with us and invited us to church in Governor’s Harbor. It was a memorable service! The message was just what we needed to hear. We drove to Ten Bay beach and snorkeled there to be delighted to find a bed of live sand dollars. We also drove north to see the Glass Bridge. The waters on the Carribean side were an incredible shade of turquoise. The beach at Monticello never ceased to amaze our eyes with the beautiful pink sand perfect for walking and the ever changing turquoise waters of the Atlantic. We are still in awe of it all. Eleuthera is a non-commercialized island but has all your heart can hold and more...a perfect hideaway for relaxing and enjoying the wonderful glory of God’s creation.

Glorious piece of paradise!

Wow, did we enjoy our time at Desert Rose. From waking up in the morning to sounds of the ocean, to evening walks on the deserted beach, we had a blast. The owners and the property manager could not have been more accommodating and friendly.

Paradise in Eleuthera!!! ❤️

We were having a very bad experience with another rental site and had to find a new place fast. Barbara, Winnie, and James saved us with our last minute booking. The house and property is absolutely gorgeous. Not enough words or even pictures can describe this property. We end up getting married right on the beach at the property. The property is so secluded. I’ve seen only 3 different ppl during our 8 night stay. Thank you Barbara for your wonderful gift. Thank you James for being our witness in our wedding. Thank you Winnie for wisdom and guidance. We will definitely be back. You guys and the house had made/completed our trip. XOXO

Splendid Isolation

We enjoyed our visit immensely. The property is off the beaten path, so to speak, yet still within 6 minutes drive of excellent dining. The beach and ocean view is world class.
