Majestic Cabin | Modern, Hot Tub, & Game Room

The Gerton Getaway is newly renovated, modern, and spacious home in the mountains of Asheville with a hot tub and downstairs game room. Plenty of space for your family or friends (sleeps up to 12). This is a perfect space to relax and rejuvenate, and a jumping off point to Asheville (~25 mins), Chimney Rock (~15 mins) and Lake Lure (~20 mins). Gerton is also home to multiple renowned trails. - The upstairs has three bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms.
- Downstairs there are three bunk beds and a full bathroom off of the game room.
- Game room is a large newly renovated space with pool, shuffle board, darts, ping pong, fuze ball and pac man.
- Fully stocked open floor plan kitchen and dining room.
- Wood burning stove fireplace in the living room.
- Outdoor fire pit and benches
- Strong WiFi

Gerton, North Carolina is located in the mountains between Asheville and Lake Lure. The Florence preserve is a 600 acre conservation area with lush forest, waterfalls, overlooks and 5 plus miles of hiking. In the small town of Gerton, NC there are other trailheads including Bearwallow mountain, Trombatore Trail, Wild Cat rock and more. Very close is Chimney Rock State Park, Lake Lure, and Rumbling Bald State Park. There is also mountain biking, fly fishing, kayaking and rafting that is close as well. There are multiple fresh farm to table options close by including Hickory Nut Gap Farm with fresh local meats to dine in or take home and family farm actives on site. There are multiple farms in between Fairview and Gerton to stop and pick up fresh veggies. There is now a local store in Gerton! Bearwallow Provisions for small market needs and gear as well as a coffee shop! In Fairview are great local restaurants including The Local Joint, Piazza, Rise Above Bakehouse. And a few breweries, the Whistle Stop Brewing and Turgua. The closest grocery store is 7 miles from the house, on 74-A.

The house is set off the road with a small dirt drive. There is plenty of parking located behind the house.
Up to 2 dogs are welcome to stay at Gerton Getaways! Please add the dogs to your booking- $100 for one dog and $150 for two dogs for the entire stay! I will need to adjust the rate for a second dog (We are working on the honor system, please let us know if you plan to bring pets, this effects cleaning) You are required to clean up after your dog in the yard. Please dont leave your dog unattended in the house.

Booked guests. You must include how many guests will stay at the Gerton Getaway. (Again, this is on the honor system, we are asking that you include how many guests will be staying, this effects cleaning as well) There is an additional fee for over 6 guests. $20 per guest after 6 guests per night. Air b n b automatically includes that automatically when you book.

Please note that we pay our cleaners a fair living wage, 100% of the cleaning fee goes to them. Their duties include all the cleaning, the laundering, balancing the hot tub, garbage collection and more. Thank you for understanding and supporting our cleaners.

Any guests over 6 people, there is a charge for $20 per person each night, this is due to the extra linens and wear and tear on the house.

The dog policy is $150 for two dogs the entire stay. Again this is based on the honesty policy.

Great Stay

Cabin was in a great location not right near the road. Lots of games in working condition that the entire family enjoyed. Would stay again!

Great place, great hosts

The property was perfect, everything you need was there. The hosts were so attentive and went above and beyond to accommodate our group. The game room was so awesome and our dogs loved running around the yard. The bunk beds were great for the kids and our party was so comfortable at the house. The house was really close to Chimney Rock which was the best day of the trip. Again cant say enough how great the hosts were! Highly recommend!

Perfect Family Vacation!

This property has it all! From nearby hikes, every game imaginable in the basement, and a 20-30 min drive to Ashville. We could not have had a better trip. Everyone one agreed this house was perfect! Also if we had any questions or needed anything Courtney was quick to reply and help. We would definitely stay here again.

Hi, we are Courtney and Larry! Larry has lived in Gerton for over 25 years and raised his kids here, Courtney moved to Asheville 9 years ago and absolutely loves living in Gerton because we are surrounded by trails and truly in the mountains.

Larry moved to Asheville before it became so popular and knew Lake Lure and went there often and loved being in Gerton, its close enough for both of our work in Asheville, but also get to be in the mountains.

Gerton is the BEST of both worlds. Close enough to Asheville and Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, but in the mountains. The Gerton getaway is a guest favorite for families and groups, because of the bunk beds downstairs and the hot tub upstairs. For those traveling with kids, the kids get their own private area and the adults do also. Close the house is a fire pit for smores!
