A Scam

We were excited about the rental. While sitting at the Seattle Airport, I was shocked to see the reservation had been canceled! No explanation, nothing. After talking to VRBO I was offered 1 hotel room for 2 nights for four adults. When I asked what the insurance was for I heard they would refund the payment. It's been 2 weeks and there has been no refund. I will never use VRBO again.

Attractive, well-maintained property with all needed items

This property is attractive and well-maintained with all of the helpful features that made it a great place for my family this past weekend (full kitchen, plenty of supplies on-site, etc). It's close to the airport (15 minutes) and super easy location for transportation anywhere we wanted to go. The only downside was challenging communication with the owner prior to arrival. I needed to make arrangements for my family related to our arrival, and reached out to the property owner 8 times (between phone, email, and text message) - and even requested VRBO reach out twice as well. All of these inquiries went without response until the day of check-in when the information I needed was finally provided, but at that point, we were already in transit to Anchorage and I had already coordinated back-up plans, so it proved relatively unhelpful. Perhaps the questions I was asking for some detailed information seemed small or insignificant, but one of my family members has pretty severe anxiety, so I was trying to pre-empt any potential issues. It was extremely frustrating to be ignored when requesting information I needed to have a smooth experience for my loved ones. Other than the challenges with the pre-arrival communication, the property is terrific and once on-site, the two questions I sent over to the owners were immediately answered, so overall it went smoothly.

Worse host ever!!

The host cancelled the booking when I called him to get the access code and the explanation was that the property got booked on another platform. No communication or no notice whatsoever. My family was stranded at midnight trying to find a place to stay. After calling several times, he picked up finally and gave the explanation and said you will get your refund. Where is the communication, where is the customer care. VRBO is going downhill and when I called them, they dont care about you or your family. How can you tell a customer that this is not available when you are at your door and trying to access the property when there is confirmation and all booking and payment was made 2 months before. I wandered around Anchorage city for almost two hours to find a hotel for me, my wife and three little kids. **** Beware of this host. He will cancel on you without any notice. I am going forward with Legal actions against VRBO and this host.

Don’t rent

Property manager cancelled our reservation at 12pm (4 hrs prior to check in). Received email of cancellation only after emailing owner about the possibility of early check in (offered to pay extra). Owner stated he rented property on another website AFTER we had rented on VRBO. We had received email to check in from VRBO a couple of days earlier. When contacting VRBO all they could say was sorry and you will get refunded your payment in 3 to 5 business days. No offer to assist in trying to find another place for us to stay or for any compensation for our lodging. Had to get 2 hotel rooms for our family to stay, costing us twice as much as the rental. Luckily we were able to find a place and could afford it. Will be going after owner and VRBO for compensation for expenses (lodging and food)!!!!! Have rented from VRBO many times, from now on we will look elsewhere.

Amazing experience in Southern Anchorage

Our stay in Trevor’s townhome was amazing! Spacious and modern, he left no stone unturned with the amenities and stocking the house with supplies. The garage and garage door opener were an added plus for our wintry trip. We hope to stay with him again this summer!
