Separate gated entrance to the private guest suite which occupies the lower level of the home named the Treehouse of Love (no shared spaces). Enjoy the backyard to yourself! Brand new queen bed, cozy sofa, 65" TV, fridge/freezer, Keurig mini coffee machine, full bath with beautiful shower, and a patio set to enjoy the lush tropical backyard. Outdoor surf shower and a hammock to relax in. Close/walking distance to the ocean, park, and great local restaurants/bars.

Great stay in this lovely spot in a nice neighborhood close to Encinitas/Leucadia restaurants. Our host was attentive and made sure we had all we needed, supplying the place with little extras and ensuring it was clean and tidy. The tree-filled back yard is a welcomed quiet oasis in an otherwise busy area. Highly recommend.

Kara, was great. The place was cozy with a beautiful back yard for my pup to safely explore. Very thoughtful attention to detail with beach gear, and various snacks and drinks provided, (I only ate the chocolate bar). It was wonderful.

We absolutely loved our experience at the treehouse. Kara was an excellent host. The Gardens were beautiful and very well maintained. The extra touches were very nice snacks, beach, chairs, umbrellas etc. Highly recommend this property and hope to come back and stay here again.

Perfect getaway spot

I had a wonderful stay at the Tropical Treehouse of Love in Leucadia! Kara's place was cute, clean, and comfy, and the location was great. She was the perfect host and made everything easy; she even left a few treats for my pup, Max. I would definitely stay there again and also recommend to friends and family.

Anniversary Getaway

The property was just as described and the host was excellent with little welcoming amenities. Beautiful backyard to enjoy time away and then nestle into a home of warmth and charm. What a neat community and we received some great recommendations from the host on what to do and see. Thank you!

Courteous Host / Great Getaway Spot

Kara was a great communicator throughout our stay (including pre/post) and we couldn't have asked for a better host! She has a lovely backyard spot with easy access to Encinitas (3-4 min drive). We were greeted with little snacks and beverages which was much appreciated after a long drive. We would absolutely return on a heart beat. Very much appreciated the hospitality and accomodations. 10 Star over 5 stars.

A great little in-law unit in a lovely neighborhood! Stayed here over three nights while visiting our daughter who lives nearby. Location is central, near everything. Everything was clean and we had all we needed. Nice touches including plenty of towels, coffee, and waters. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Tropical Tree of Love This Place!

My husband and I along with our two very tiny Chihuahuas found this guest house quite comfortable. It was a perfect space and private access to the backyard was awesome for our pets. Thank you, Kara for the drinks in the fridge. The neighborhood was very nice and quiet and the private entrance to the guest house was a plus. Very comfortable and cozy.

Lovely space

My siblings and I stayed here for a couple nights. We absolutely loved it! Space is so well done, clean and has everything you would need. Backyard is fantastic! The location was perfect and the bed and couch were very comfortable. Kara is a wonderful person and fantastically communicator. I would highly recommend this spot. I hope to be back next year!

Lush Have

The interior lodgings are great, but it’s the setting that elevates it to ‘special.’ The garden is expansive, beautiful, peaceful. We brought our blind dog and he was beside himself. He had a better trip than we did.

First Getaway

My heart would have been over joyed for 1 or 2 more nights here at the Tree House. It was my partner and I's first getaway since having our daughter 3 years ago. It was peaceful, quaint, and homey. I can't get over the backyard! It had all the perfect little touches and Kara was a pleasure to work with. Thank you for the serenity Tree House!

Comfort, from the time we entered the property until we left. My husband, my 16 yr. old collie and I, were happy, at peace and felt like we got a Hawaiian hug. The property is tropical, vast and inviting. There is a special treat and hidden treasure. You find it.

My name is Kara Watkins and we are raising our three young boys here in Leucadia, CA. We are always at the beach playing in the sand or in the waves. I am from Northern CA (Santa Cruz) but I have lived in San Diego 20 years now. Leucadia is a wonderful laid back surf town with epic world class waves. There are a ton of great places to dine and visit while in Leucadia/Encinitas/Cardiff and I am happy to give you all my favorites. If you like live music, hit the Belly Up, one of my favorite local venues. I am a local realtor specializing in beach communities along the Coast of San Diego and I am SO proud to call Leucadia "home".

It's a little slice of Hawaii and Bali right here in Encinitas/Leucadia. Very private tropical setting and walking distance to town and the beach. This is what relaxing is all about.
