You will love this cottage’s amenities: Hot Tub, Seasonal Fire Pit, Cornhole, Game Room with foosball, dartboard, & card table with board games. Also enjoy the covered porch & two decks for wildlife viewing (deer & turkey are regulars and in summer fireflies too. Gourmet Kitchen. 2 Spa like baths with custom tiled showers & Bluetooth speakers. Smart TVs. We are pet friendly (See details below for pets).

My family and I loved our stay at the Cardinal Cottage. The location made for easy access to everything the New River Gorge has to offer, and we were able to bring our dogs along for the adventure. I'm sure we will be booking another stay at the cottage in the future.

The Cardinal Cottage is as adorable and serene as the photos and description claim. The location is so convenient to all the sites yet secluded and abundant with wildlife. We saw many deer and turkeys during our time there. Our host Shelby was most gracious and accommodating with our stay. We will definitely stay here again when visiting New River Gorge.

Wonderful long weekend stay.

My family really enjoyed our stay at this lovely house in a great location. It is great proximity to a variety of activities, restaurants, and shopping and the hot tub was a great way to unwind after a long day of outdoor activities. Would definitely stay here again when we visit in the future.

Amazing and clean house with lots of room outdoors. We saw turkeys and deer everyday. Shelby was easy to reach and a wonderful host. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay!

Great Getaway

The cottage was well stocked, clean and homey. Our boys enjoyed the game room while we preferred the porch and hot tub.

First off. This property is within the national park with a plethora of hikes and scenic overlooks that are all under a 30 min drive. The house was very comfortable and clean. The property was private with wildlife all around. After a long day of hiking or rafting the hot tub was the perfect end. I would come back

The property was absolutely gorgeous and meticulously maintained—it truly checked every one of our needs for this trip. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how beautiful and well-kept everything was.The hosts' kindness and attentiveness were just as impressive. Shelby was an amazing host—always there to help if we encountered any issues and full of fantastic recommendations for both day hikes and local food.After a long day of hiking, the comfortable beds were extremely inviting. We especially appreciated the expansive property, where we were able to sit outside and relax. The location is perfect, being only a mile or two from the Endless Wall Trail.As for dining, we took Shelby's advice and would highly recommend Cathedral for breakfast, and Pies and Pints and Secret Sandwich Society for dinner.This was a truly wonderful trip that will stay in our memories forever. We would highly, highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful, comfortable stay with outstanding hosts!

Family vacation to explore the New River Gorge

We stayed with our 2 young kids and dog and came to explore the New River Gorge National Park. The location was perfect and close to the Gorge, visitor center, and minutes from the Endless Wall Trail! We enjoyed a fire in the fire pit and watching the sun set from the property. The kitchen was well equipped and had a very nice gas range! We had a great stay and the Gorge offered spectacular views from the trails and overlooks.

Peaceful and Serene

The Cardinal Cottage was an awesome escape. It had all we needed in a beautiful location. We loved the privacy, peace, and the views of deer, turkeys, and birds. The hot tub was a great bonus for warmth (though the jets could use a little TLC). We really appreciated the pet-friendly and clean environment! The thoughtful details made our family getaway a success! Thank you

Cardinal Cottage is a Winner!

Awesome property! Bright and fresh with lots of natural light. Beautiful large kitchen with plenty of cookware and dishes. We appreciated the gate at the deck stairs so we could relax in the hot tub without worrying that our fur baby would wander off. Convenient to the New River Gorge area.

Nicely furnished cottage!

Loved the property! Learned a valuable lesson about GPS in the area though! We quickly figured out that taking Lansing Edmond Rd. To Route 19 is the best way to get anywhere!! Lots of one lane, mostly gravel roads around the area. The cottage was so comfortable! Great sleeping! Owner was very responsive.

Great Family Spot

Such a cute house with lots of updates. We loved playing games and the kitchen was great to cook in. This location is perfect and so close to many trails! We had a wonderful time here.

Lovely stay in a winter wonderland!

My husband, pup, and I stayed here a few nights after the new year. The cabin was such a lovely place to watch the snowfalls. We also loved bird watching and seeing the deer. Kitchen was well-stocked so we stayed put, relaxing and playing games. Thank you for a relaxing start to 2025!

Perfect location

Wonderful updated home. Fully stocked and loved the mowed trails around the property for our pooch. Great location close to all the trails. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
