This VRBO listing is grossly misleading. The listing explicitly states that the pool is open; however, upon arrival, we were informed that the entire pool deck was closed due to falling concrete, a serious safety hazard. This was not disclosed anywhere in the listing. Additionally, the photos completely avoid showing the exterior of the building, which is in extremely poor and concerning condition. Prospective renters should be aware that there are significant safety issues with this property that are not mentioned prior to booking. These omissions are unacceptable and materially affect the value and safety of the stay. The owner will emphasize that the apartment itself is clean and claim he has no control over the building’s exterior. However, when issues arise during your stay, he deflects responsibility, makes excuses, and refuses to negotiate a reasonable refund. Despite the loss of amenities and safety concerns, he would not offer more than a 5% refund, even after VRBO became involved. The pool access and overall safety of the property were a major reason for booking and were worth far more than a 5% concession. These concerns were repeatedly dismissed and never meaningfully addressed. The greatest quality of this listing is the public beach east of the property; there are miles of untouched beach. I strongly recommend visiting the beach as it is accessible to all, but doing so from another property, one that is honest and prioritizes guest safety.
