The Sundowner Retreat with Outdoor Clawfoot Tubs

Escape to The Sundowner Desert Retreat where days can start with wildlife viewing looking out into our rock watering hole and end by relaxing in the twin outdoor, clawfoot tubs under the Milky Way. Explore five acres of solitude and adventure, surrounded with Joshua Trees, Palo Verde trees, boulders and mature desert plants. Inside the house you will be immersed in luxurious mid century desert boho with picturesque views from every room in the house--even the bathroom.
The space
Each bedroom offers king size West Elm beds with premium memory foam mattresses, closets, unique lighting and access to the outdoors. The living room has a sleeper couch with memory foam mattress and a leather sectional in a huge open floor plan living / dining space with indoor outdoor connection through sliding pocket doors.

Palo Verde surround the house, humming with birds and bees. A watering hole carved out of a rock invites many desert visitors to the front of the property; rabbits, hummingbirds, quail and coyotes roam freely around the property with occasional bobcat visits.

Two clawfoot bathtubs outside for warming up on cool starry nights or cooling down on warm summer days. Endless desert winds caressing you while you soak and lounge. The unique weather cone created by the Big Bear Mountain being so close to the desert creates unique cloud formations especially during sunrises and sunsets.

The large dining room can be used as office space to work from home. Message us if you will need faster wifi and we can upgrade for your visit.
Guest access
Room to park multiple cars. Ample space for RV's, when home is rented, but no hook ups. Guests can use all five acres but please be respectful of neighbors, wildlife, plant-life and please be cautious in the arid desert environment. Guests can use closets in bedrooms, washer and dryer and fully stocked kitchen. No Parties, Events or Commercial shoots allowed without owner consent. We have outdoor security cameras that will notify us of loud noise, extra guests and extra cars. This is our family home which we are honored to share with you. We want you to feel as comfortable in it as we do. Please leave it in the condition you have found it.
Other things to note
We are 20 minutes from Joshua Tree National Park's West Entrance. We are on a dirt road that is flat and accessible with most cars.

Most of the art inside the house was created by the owners; some of the elements used in the art were also collected from the property.
