Enjoy the privacy and serenity of Louisiana's wilderness at its finest. Beautiful country setting on 5 wooded acres w/ direct access to Bayou Darbonne. Great fishing from the dock! Bring your boat and keep it on site in the boathouse. Watch the sunset over the lake from the large windows in the game room w/pool table, music, Roku tv & board games. Cozy living room w/ fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen featuring full sized appliances and Keurig coffee maker w/ assorted coffees. Everything needed to cook a family meal is provided. Dishtowels, potholders, and dish soap are supplied, along w/ paper towels, toilet paper, bar soap, shampoo, hair dryer, bath towels & wash cloths. Extra bed linens and blankets can be found in the closet. We have a full-size washer and dryer for your use. Laundry soap & dryer sheets are provided. There is a firepit area with wood, for relaxing outside. Screened area features a very large grill, double sinks for cleaning fish, and an outside fridge.After lots of Rain,the road maybe a little slick on the way out so make adjustments accordingly. Driveway is steep so use caution. Not for the faint at heart.Have had no problems though in over 2 years with guest not wanting to come down Driveway.

We didn't even make one night! 4 hours there and back home with my kids and dogs. The house was disgusting and unclean! Don't get me wrong, we tried for an hour, but there was so much filth! We swept a pile of dirt up in the living room alone. The carpet had stains, dirt, and even pistachios on it! The toilets, sink, and mirror were not wiped down, the fridge, other appliances and the counter was not wiped down, there was sticky stuff on the couch and the floors, there was a spot on the floor that looks like an animal peed and it was never cleaned up, the air intake vent had 1/2 in of dust on it, the fire pit was full of trash with a 2x6 across it like is that where we are supposed to burn your trash! Just overall nasty. The host was very rude and called me liar basically for letting him know the condition of his property. I tried to send pictures to him too, he refused. He just said in bold letters it's a CAMP. Im not sure how it being a camp means it can be filthy. As we were leaving out that very night on a one lane dirt road, his neighbor was coming in the opposite direction and cussed us out because he lives there and we are ABB. WOW thanks for that! Horrible does not describe this experience. Our whole vacation was ruined. I do not recommend this place at all unless you enjoy staying in filth!

Tranquil gwtaway

We booked this place as a place to stay during a baseball tournament. We ended up falling in love with the tranquility of it all. Secluded and quiet with views for days. The kids enjoyed fishing and spotting wildlife. Definitely the slow down we needed. Property was clean and well kept. House was perfectly cooled. And the water pressure was amazing. Was also delighted with the gas stove, seasonings and all the amenities provided. Owner answered quickly and made wonderful accommodations. Entertainment was great and WiFi was perfect for doing a little work during the week. Discussing coming back just to enjoy the place without baseball.

Birthday Party

We had a birthday party and the place had plenty of room for everyone. Nice view of the lake and was very secluded. The house was very clean and well furnished with plenty of seats for everyone. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider again in the future.

Relaxation Central

Our stay was nothing short of amazing. The views were stunning. We enjoyed fishing off the pier and our kids enjoyed the sand near the water. Overall our stay was an experience we will never forget.

My son and I stayed there for three nights. Both of us absolutely love the quiet peaceful secluded property. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a quiet peaceful place to stay where you can also fish and if you have a boat that's just a cherry on topcherryontop

This place was amazing. The beds were comfortable. The property was beautiful with everything you could want for a fishing cabin. There was plenty of fire wood, really plenty of everything. Every time we thought, “I wish I had brought…”, it was there. The minor complaints I have won’t stop me from coming back bc it was just that awesome! The owner was kind and eager to accommodate. He was a little hard to get in touch with but once I reached him, he took care of everything with a smile on his face and kind words! The only suggestion I have is that he hire a better cleaning crew. The house was not the cleanest but it was neat and well stocked, just needed a deep clean. Like I said, not bad enough to keep me from coming back! Based on the interaction with the owner, I bet he fixes that by the time you read this!!!

Sicily’s 17th Bday

It was my daughter’s 17th bday. We rented the cabin for some friends and family to come celebrate. It was so much fun! This cabin is perfect. Clean …. Has everything you need …. Lots of room & lots of beds. We will definitely be back!!

Not informed of drawdown

Before booking this property, we asked if we’d be able use a boat ramp and to keep our boat in the boathouse for the length of the stay as this was our goal for a four day rental on a lake! Once these things were confirmed, we paid. The owner neglected to tell us until two days before arrival that there was a 5 foot planned drawdown. We could not get a refund and cancel the trip- which is what we would have done had we been given the opportunity. To get in and out of the boat required walking in sink mud up to our knees. The owner offered a partial refund that was NEVER given. For two weeks, we tried texting, emailing, and VRBO called multiple times. There has been no response. Other than the water level being five feet lower, the property was exactly what we were looking for! The fish cleaning area was great. We loved the sunroom with the windows providing great views. The game room was well appointed. Kids caught fish and frogs. Firewood being provided for the fire pit was a plus since most rentals don’t provide that. We made the best of an inaccurate description and bad situation and still had a good time.

Perfect getaway

This was a wonderful place to relax and getaway from the hustle and bustle. Plenty of things to do like fish, play games, and walk trails. Located right on the water for boat activities and swimming.

Wonderful place except road

The house is wonderful! The only problem is it’s about 3 miles down a dirt (not gravel) swervy hilly road. You will need a 4 wheel drive if pulling a boat. There would have been a problem coming out if it had rained. This wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the description.

Peaceful Getaway

The cabin was just as shown in the pictures of the listing. Everything needed was available on site to make our stay comfortable. We enjoyed the use of the boat house, making it convenient to go out fishing easily and also did some fishing from the dock. We were able to unplug and getaway in this peaceful retreat. Our only regret was the weather didn’t cooperate which ended our trip early but the property owners were great to work with during our unexpected departure.

Best peaceful get away

Your house was a beautiful cozy, quiet place to stay. You had all the things we needed to cook all our meals. Only thing we never could find was the electric cord for the fry daddy but we just used a pot instead to fry our French fries lol. We fished, cooked and played just about all your games. The pool table and dart board along with all the board games kept us entertained for hours. We cannot wait to book our next stay. We pray you stay on VRBO so we can come back again.

The definition of “peacel

If you’re looking for an idyllic getaway - look no further. This secluded and private locale provided exceptional sunsets with comfortable accommodations and plenty of room. A large game room provided the perfect view of the lake. The only recommendation would be to arrive before dark as the road can be a little tricky. Great communication with the owner and a minor issue was resolved instantly. Will definitely be staying again.

Absolutely excellent property! Excellent white perch and catfishing from the dock, and also excellent bass fishing lake. Pool table in the game room was an excellent source of entertainment also. Already planning our next trip back!

My wife and I live on the north side of Monroe, less than 1 hour away. The homes are lovely, but very close to your neighbors. We fell in love with our vacation home the moment we saw it, and were amazed by the sounds of nature instead versus a suburban area. We love being on the water boating, fishing, or swimming with family and friends. We also enjoy 4 wheeler riding and nature hikes with our 4 grandchildren. They especially enjoy our firepit where they can roast marshmallows and make smores. We have made so many wonderful memories with them catching their first fish, chasing fireflies, or observing the occasional raccoon, opossum, squirrel, rabbit, or deer.
We love being new host, and hope you and your family enjoy it as much as we do.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Growing up, my parents had a camp on Lake Darbonne, and my grandparents owned a camp on Lake Claiborne, and on Grand Isle. These places are where my greatest childhood memories come from. I have been searching for a place for my family to enjoy on the water and when I first came here, the peacefulness, privacy, and wide-open spaces were so comforting, that I knew my search was over. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The house. It is big, at 2300 sq feet, plenty of room for everyone, as well as comfortable and cozy. Our game room features a pool table, dartboard, and board games for some friendly competition, and lots of laughs. The windows there provide a spectacular view of the lake. God paints a beautiful new picture every day. The sunsets reflecting on the water are breath taking. We have a pair of eagles that often visit a tree near the dock. And we sometimes see flocks of ducks, even white pelicans! Woodpecker, hummingbirds, heron or an occasional owl are not uncommon sights. Our grandchildren were delighted to see the turtles coming from the woods to dig holes in the hot sand to lay their eggs. And, later, smiling to see the empty eggshells. We feel we discovered the perfect place for our whole family to have an occasional get-a-way.
We have a fully stocked kitchen for preparing family meals, and an outside screened area with a very large double grill, refrigerator and double sinks for cleaning the many fish we catch from the dock.
