Our stay at Kathleen’s was absolutely perfect. She was such a wonderful host - super clear with instructions and left us some thoughtful treats. We felt right at home! Will definitely rent again next time we are in the Newport area.

Lovely accommodation and location!

This cozy studio is beautifully appointed with great attention to detail and very comfortable. The location is perfect for walking into town. Kathleen and Steve are very nice hosts! Will definitely stay here again on a trip back to beautiful Newport!

Studio is in a great location! Walkable from town and parking is easy. Space was clean, but it is in the basement of the house so there is very little natural light and you can hear everything going on upstairs to the point it would wake us up in the morning.

Thanks so much for staying and for your honest feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the location and cleanliness. Like many typical apartment setups, some noise travels between floors. I'm always looking for ways to improve the space and have ordered a sound barrier panel to place on the door between the basement and the house. Hopefully, this will reduce some of the sounds that travel between the floors.

Perfect place for a getaway weekend

Awesome, comfy place. Kathleen is an incredible host and would highly recommend staying here. So close to Thames St and quiet with no traffic foot or car.

Cute and quiet close to shops

This was our first visit to Newport. Very clean apartment with great kitchen and space to spread out. Close to shops, but very quiet neighborhood. Host left welcome notes and treats throughout the space that made us feel special. Would definitely stay again!

Wonderful experience!

Kathleen’s place is the perfect spot to stay if you’re visiting Newport! The apartment looks exactly like the pictures and has everything you’d need (full kitchen, comfy bed, working area, clean bathroom, full laundry, beach towels, etc). Kathleen also went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and even left little welcome treats for us :) definitely recommend!

Perfect In Newport

This was the perfect location and property for us. WE found it to be just as advertised and better! The space was clean, tidy and well apportioned. The use of the yard and the patio was fantastic. To be able to sit in peace and quiet for a spell and enjoy the beautiful yard and landscape was perfect. To top it off, Kathleen is the best! She is a kind and gracious host who makes you feel welcome and that you belong. We have stayed here for our past to visits to Newport and when we visit Newport again we plan to stay here again.

Cozy and clean

I was coming to Newport for a wedding and booked this VRBO. It totally exceeded my expectations in every way. Kathleen was a very accomodating host and her place reflected that. There was the makings for a continental breakfast in the fridge, as well as bananas and granola bars on the kitchen counter. She even had homemade chocolate chip cookies there for me as well. It was immaculate too. Comfy bed and high quality linens made falling asleep a breeze. Loved every day I spent there.

Perfect spot in Newport!

This lovely spot is located within walking distance of Newport’s best shops and restaurants as well as the most famous must-see “cottages.” It is also beautifully appointed with everything you need for a cozy weekend or comfortable week’s stay. The shower and bed are smaller than we are used to but these small inconveniences were made up for by the gorgeous garden Kathleen has grown, where I spent many sunny days reading and we grilled dinner one night. (She even grows herbs you’re welcome to use in your cooking!) I was concerned about this being a communal space as I value my privacy when on vacation but most of the time we had it all to ourselves and the few times we bumped into the owners, they were extremely welcoming and made us feel right at home. My only quibble is the soundproofing in the apartment isn’t great so we heard the owners in the early morning moving around, even though we could tell they were making pains to be as quiet as possible. Nonetheless,we would heartily recommend this stay for anyone. We have vacationed in many rentals in our time and this one stood out as exceptionally clean, with thoughtful details everywhere, including cookies, energy bars and even local beers in the fridge. Thank you, Kathleen, for showing us such an amazing time!
