Our central location is blocks away from Louisville's most popular live music venues, bars, celebrity-chef restaurants, and the city's beloved bourbon experiences!

The Space:
Experience southern hospitality and city skyline views as you relax in modern amenities: oversized living room with big screen smart TV, fully equipped kitchen, walk-in closets, king bed with luxury linens, ensuite washer and dryer, high ceilings, and concrete floors.

0.1 miles to 4th Street Live, the neighborhood's entertainment, restaurant, and cocktail hub
0.8 miles to Whiskey Row, the heart of Louisville's bourbon tourism
0.5 miles to Kentucky International Convention Center
3.6 miles to Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby
4.0 miles to Kentucky Expo Center

Guest Access:
You'll use a key fob to enter the building and take the elevator to your floor during your stay. The apartment has a Yale smart lock keypad for self check-in with a code that is unique to your stay and expires after you check out for added security and peace of mind.

At check-in, you'll enter the building using a call box before retrieving your key fob from a lockbox inside.

All access codes are sent 15 minutes before your scheduled arrival time.

The Neighborhood:
The location is unbeatable - just steps away from the iconic Louisville Palace and Mercury Ballroom, where you can catch some of the best live music acts in the region. Plus, you're within walking distance to Fourth Street Live, an entertainment district filled with bars, restaurants, and shops.

And that's not all - you're less than a mile from Whiskey Row, where you can sample some of Kentucky's finest bourbons and soak up the city's rich history. A few blocks further, you'll find the trendy neighborhoods of NuLu and Butchertown, both packed with art galleries, cafes, and boutiques

Getting Around:
We're in the historic Henry Clay Building at 604 S 3rd St, in the heart of downtown Louisville.

Access the building by turning into the Clay Commons Parking Garage entrance, just past the Hilton on Chestnut St. There is a loading zone to your left past the Hilton valet before you enter the gates to the public garage, with a large Henry Clay sign to the right of wooden doors-- feel free to park in front of the doors with flashers on while you follow the check-in instructions and unload your luggage.

We offer paid onsite parking to guests for $15/night. You'll have access to the secure garage directly underneath the building, where you can access the building and take the elevator directly to your floor!

If you've paid for onsite parking, instructions will be included in the check-in instructions in your personalized Boarding Pass.

The Clay Commons Parking Garage at 350 W Chestnut St is another parking option adjacent to the building for $25/night, but there are plenty of other garages or paid street parking in the area.

Other Things to Note:
Need extra bedding? We don't charge extra guest fees, but we do offer a pull-out sleeper sofa. Let us know if you plan to use it, and we’ll leave extra linens, a blanket, and pillows in your room before you check in. We charge $15 per reservation to cover the additional laundry costs for sheets, blankets, and towels.

Want to start your trip early or sleep in on your last morning? We’re happy to accommodate an early check-in or late checkout if arranged in advance! Our standard check-in time is 4:00pm, and our checkout time is 10:00am – we charge 10% of the nightly rate per hour (with a minimum of $20/hour) to adjust our cleaners’ schedules and arrange this service.

Nice room!

This was a great nights sleep. The bed was big and comfortable and the blackout curtain was amazing! The shower had basic supplies, hot water and good pressure. Coffee was also provided.

It was awesome. The weather was crazy, hot and humid so I would rush to the apartment to get comfortable. I had the opportunity to stay at the Omni hotel during my business trip but I am glad I chose the Henry Clay apartment. So quiet lots of room love the cement floors really nice experience.

Fascinating Building & Apartment

Had a wonderful stay at this apartment, recently. The apartment is in a surprisingly interesting, older mixed use building, but it was very sparsely populated.Parking is adjacent to the building, but you enter from the ground level, or possibly through the 4th floor of the Hilton (there is a hallway, but did not check to see if the doors were unlocked).Anyway, the apartment is very nice. Full kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, and a king size bed. Full linens, plenty of towels & toiletries.Host communication was prompt and professional. I would highly recommend and will gladly book with Matt again, when back in town. All in all, an excellent property, in a very convenient location.

Great location

Came up for the weekend to enjoy Louisville and the bourbon trail. You are surrounded by events, restaurants and minutes to Whiskey Row. Great communication with the owner and easy check in/out process. Everything was clean and well stocked, would recommend.

As Advertised

This apartment was as advertised. Bedding was wonderful, having 2 baths was wonderful and it was very clean! No major complaints. I did not like the fact that there was very little hot water. Also, the WiFi did not work while we were there, but owner said he would be checking into it.

An Oasis in the City

We absolutely loved our stay. The apartment in the classic building - which is seemingly in transition from grand old hotel to new apartments in or condos - was spacious and comfortable, very quiet, and had great views of the downtown skyline. The location is super convenient to all of the downtown attractions and events. We opted for the parking and it was very convenient, if a bit tight to navigate for a standard sedan. Slightly cheaper is available nearby but the convenience can't be beat. We're definitely likely to stay again next time we find ourselves in Louisville.

Nice place

In town to visit our daughter, a student at U of L. Convenient location with everything we did within 10 minute drive. It was great having the parking garage right there. The bed was very comfortable! The place had a bit of a "cold" feeling. Just need a better family room rug and a cozy rug in the bedroom. The only problem was a prom was being held on the second floor and we could totally hear the thumping music for several hours.

Perfect for my graduation trip

We traveled to Louisville from Alabama for my graduation ceremony. It was held at the Kentucky International Convention Center and this location was just a short walk to get there. The check in process was very clearly explained and we did not have any trouble finding our way. The property is a beautuful historic building that has been renovated but still holds its original charm. The room itself was very clean and cozy. The location is close enough to downtown for easy access wirhout being in the busy area. The large windows provide a nice view. The bed is extremely comfortable. Basic toiletries and dishes are provided. We had everything we needed and very much enjoyed our stay. The cleaning and check out process was super easy and not much was required of us. We opted in for on site parking as well. It is a private secure garage under the living space. Everything felt very safe and secure. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in Louisville again.

In the heart of downtown Louisville!

Loved the location. Within walking distance to 4th Street, restaurants and numerous music venues. A good walk but walkable to Whiskey Row and the Yum Center. Communication was very detailed and timely throughout the booking stage thru checking out.
