The Ampersand is located in the charming historic part of Charlotte Amalie, only a 5-10 minutes stroll downhill to restaurants, duty-free shopping, public transport, taxis, the boardwalk, and important historical sites: 17th Century Fort Christian, Legislature Building, historic churches, St. Thomas synagogue, 99 steps, and many, many more. While the walk downhill is a bit steep, it is okay for able people, and the uphill trek will keep you fit—think of it as a bonus workout! Catching a cab is very easy if you'd rather not walk back.

Magen Bay, the best beach on the island and one of the top ten in the Caribbean is just a short 10-15-minute ride by car or taxi.
