El Penthouse en Poipu Shores es la unidad de la esquina en el piso superior, y está a solo unos metros del océano. Originalmente construido para el desarrollador, es el condominio más grande en Poipu Shores (2200 pies cuadrados). Con paredes de vidrio, indiscutiblemente tiene la vista más espectacular de cualquier propiedad en la costa sur: un panorama panorámico de 270 grados de la costa sur que se extiende hacia el oeste, Niihau, y las montañas centrales, el monte. My husband and I really enjoyed the location and walked to Poipu beach every night to watch the sea turtles on the beach. The view is spectacular as the reviews state.

Stunning view

View could not be beat. Saw turtles and whales from the balcony of the apartment and from the pool. Easy walk to the beach. Apt itself is slightly outdated for the price, and had multiple issues with the door lock. Staff was extremely helpful however (although still asked us to pay extra charge for late checkout when we were locked out of apt for an hour that morning dur to failure of wifi lock).

14th Anniversary

Location and views are amazing. We’ve stayed at many properties in Poipu, this one had the best view by far. Place needs some renovating and needed a deep clean. Light bulbs out in bedroom and bathroom, jacuzzi tub broke with caution tape all over it. Would have been nice to give us a heads up so we pack accordingly. Overall, people were very friendly, pool and grills were nice. Parking is VERY limited and with having the penthouse, a spot should be designated. Lot was full a few times so we parked up above.

Beautiful views

You can’t beat the view from this property! The penthouse was spacious and provided beautiful views all the way down Poipu Beach and well beyond, not to mention the ocean being spread out before you. My only recommendation would be to provide some kind of blinds because in the afternoon the sun gets absolutely blinding. Overall, a great place to stay

Perfect stay

Great location close to the beach and a few restaurants. The views from the balcony are what you think they should be. You can see sea turtles from the balcony. I do recommend that you have the A/C turned on. It’s a little warm if you are not used to it.. I’d definitely stay again

Best Ocean View

We had a wonderful stay in Anne's Poipu Shores Penthouse Condo. The view is so amazing from the lanai, the master bedroom, the kitchen/dining room and the living area. Anne was very quick to answer any questions that I had. The staff at Poipu Shores was stellar. Always helpful with a smile on their faces. I would definitely stay here again. Mahalo, Anne!

Clean and quiet paradise

We had a wonderful time! Condo was clean and convenient and has the best views! The property manager was very responsive and accommodating. The view is unmatched. We enjoyed watching whales, dolphins and turtles from the unit and lanai. Spacious, well laid out and perfectly finished, this unit was created with loving attention to detail. We stayed in January so no A/C was need, it even got a bit chilly on a few evenings which was fine with us. If I could have changed anything it would have been to have a memory foam king size bed in the master. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Great spot, location, and view!

Very nice condo. Great value. Only thing I would suggest is be clear to suggest to guests they consider requesting the AC be turned on BEFORE they arrive since the office can't turn it on in a given day after 4:30 PM. Could also use better amenities in the kitchen. Would absolutely return, though! Office was very responsive to our needs, and condo is beautiful with a great view.

Amazing location

This was our third visit to Poipu Shores…first time to this unit. Owner and staff were very easy to work with and responded quickly to our questions. Unit was spacious and worked beautifully for our family(2 grandparents, parents and two young children). The third bedroom with trundle bed worked well for kids. Having a third bath was a bonus. The view is unmatched. We enjoyed watching whales, dolphins and turtles from the unit and lanai. Even on a very rainy day we were happy as we looked out from our unit. I gave the unit a 5 when compared to others at this price. A few minor suggestions include switching out the kitchen sink and garbage disposal, consider a/c for the whole unit, some new furnishings and kitchen utensils. Overall, Poipu Shores is one of our favorite places in the islands. Mahalo🌺

Gorgeous!

The view cannot be matched. The master bedroom is phenomenal. The second bedroom works great for two adults. The third bedroom was okay for the fifth adult in our party, but the mattress and bed seems better suited to a child. It wasn't very comfortable. I don't think it would work to have two adults in that room. We saw sea turtles from our balcony all day every day. Be advised that the air conditioning works ONLY in the bedrooms. You can open all bedroom doors and the ceiling fans will move some air into the living area, but it does not really cool down. During our stay, it was between 85-90 degrees each day and 85-90 percent humidity. We were warm! But the view made even that bearable! All in all, one of our best vacation experiences. We would definitely come back. (Probably during a cooler month!)

Perfect Place for a Relaxing Break

Our family of 5 just finished our stay in 406A. I know people say its the best view in Poipu, but nothing will prepare you for this place. You are literally hanging over the ocean. We got up each morning and watched literally dozens of sea turtles feeding along the rocks, and watched an unbelievable display from the migrating whales every single day. The icing on the cake was the best location to enjoy the New Years fireworks from the comfort of our own place! This place had all of the comforts of home, easy to cook whatever we wanted etc.. Beds were all comfortable. the third bedroom is really for shorter people. My 17 year old son was a bit cramped. The main family room is huge, great TV, massive couch and a few very comfy chairs. Kitchen table was very large and no problem seating 8-10. The pool was very nice, just 2 feet from the ocean, and the grills worked very well. Perfect spot, worth every single penny. Owners could not have been more friendly, helpful, and responsive.

Spectacular Condo!

Our trip to Kauai was perfect in every way, in large part because of our beautiful condo. From the first inquiry through check-out on our last day, everything was flawless. Everything was just as pictured or better. Anne was wonderful--made it very easy to confirm our rental, even though she was on vacation herself. We arrived late in the evening, but the keys and instructions were right where we were told they'd be and we had no problem getting in and settled. The location is perfect for those wanting to stay on the south side of the island (which we recommend). We could watch the sea turtles out the window, easily walk to the sandy beach to enjoy the sun and snorkeling, go for runs in the early morning, or pick up a quick bite to eat. There's plenty of shopping within an easy drive, including groceries, Starbuck's, and restaurants of all kinds. We especially enjoyed Beach House for a birthday celebration. The sound of the waves crashing on the rocks was constant but soothing and relaxing. The condo had everything we needed--plenty of room, a spectacular view, high tech amenities, tv's in every bedroom in addition to the main living area, washer/dryer, etc. Have we mentioned the views?! Comfortable beds, beautiful paint colors throughout, crown moulding and other details/built ins in every room. We'll definitely be back to Kauai and would love to stay in this condo again. We fell in love with the island in large part because of our spectacular home away from home.

Spectacular Views But Issues

Spent Christmas week at this property. This condo is clean and well located (short walk to Poipu Beach) with spectacular views, right on the ocean. Kitchen is fairly well stocked with the basics and beach chairs, umbrellas and a cooler were provided. But we had issues. First, no hot water on the first day, which reoccured again later in the week. This was extremely annoying when it came to showering. Turned out the electrical backup switch to the hot water heater (solar) had not been properly turned on. Second, the property is advertised as having 3 bedrooms that accommodates 6 adults. The 3rd bedroom is a tiny office with a day bed that would comfortably fit a SMALL adult (not my 6'2" son) and the pull out trundle is even smaller and, when pulled out, filled the entire floor with no walking space. This 3rd bedroom is appropriate for a child, not an adult. Third, the refrigerator froze our drinks and food, even though we turned it down to the least cool setting. And fourth, the internet was spotty. We had to turn on our hot spots on our phones. We've stayed in several rentals through VRBO or Airbnb and never have had such issues. While we still made the most of our vacation, this property was not worth the substantial amount of money we paid.

Beyond All Expectations!

My family of 4 vacationed on the South shore of Kauai in this amazing penthouse! The condo itself went beyond any expectations we had! Anne, the lucky owner, was nice enough to answer every question I threw her way. We not only communicated by email, but also by phone. She was extremely helpful and gave me a great feeling of confidence that I had chosen the perfect "home away" from home for my family! The location is incredible! You are truly as close to the ocean as any condo could be. We loved watching the sea turtles swim below our balconly, watching the waves crash onto the rocks below us, and feeling the ocean spray on our face in the evenings. The view is also glorious from the master bedroom, family room and kitchen! There is no need to go to a special location to watch the sunset, you can see it from your own large, private balcony. I will mention that if you are not a morning person, simply bring a sleep mask. The view is breathtaking from the master bedroom, but there are no window treatments in the master. I picked one up at Whalers! The walk to the beach is less than 5 minutes down an oceanside trail. We could watch my sons 14 and 11 walk to the nearest beach, Brennecke's. It had amazing waves for boogie boarding and body surfing. Walk another 5 minutes and you are at Po'ipu Beach. Across from Po'ipu Beach Park is Brennecke's restaurant and also their snack stand for shaved ice, sandwiches, etc. Highly recommend Brennecke's restaurant! For dinner you do need to make a reservation! Last thing on location, you are also less than a 10 minute drive from Po'ipu Shopping Village. It has a high end convenience store, Whalers, with beer, wine, and some groceries. There is a great burger place, Puka Dogs, and several high end restaurants! Anne had mentioned to me that she likes to go down every few months to check on the condo and make certain it is being kept to her standards. Believe me when I say that it was perfectly maintained and cleaned! I do not understand why their calendar is not completely full! I compared their rate to 4 local hotels and they were less expensive and in my opinion offered more!!!

BEST VIEW IN POIPU, but- place needs serious updating

I'll start with the pro's of this place, and there were plenty. The view's from 406A are quite simply, ridiculous. Breathtaking views up and down the southwest side of the island. The sound of the ocean against the rocks echoing through the condo is a great thing to hear while staying here. The views from the kitchen are panoramic of the ocean, mountain and all of the "gardens" Kauai has to offer. The pool at this place is amazing, hanging over the ocean with countless turtles swimming below all day every day. All of the cons of this place are annoying, because they are easily fixed. Firstly, this place needs updating in a catastrophic way. The furniture is surely late 90's, wicker style with glass that gets covered in a mixture of salt and humid air, and the white arm chairs are absolutely filthy. The L shapped coach smells horrible and feels grungy, and the outside patio furniture is very old, basic and not very comofrotable. Looking down at the neighbors below, with their new patio furniture made you wish this place followed suit. The kitchen appliances are also old and dated, the fridge has no cold water or ice dispenser and is fairly small. The oven door doesn't even close all the way, so the heat just escapes into the kitchen which heats up the kitchen. I reached out to anne to address, and she did say the range was already supposed to be replaced, but she's waiting on property management to install. The beach chairs and cooler that were provided were also old and needing replacing. The cooler handle was broken, and fixed with red duct tape, and the chairs were rusty and broken. Anne also was attentive to those issues, and actually new chairs arrived the next day. The biggest complaint by far came from my in-laws who we gave the master bedroom too. First, the mattress in the master is lumpy and worn, and like the queen mattress in the smaller bedroom, needs to be replaced, desperately. There are also no curtains whatsoever in the master, which i understand allows for an incredible view, but some people like sleeping past sunrise. Towels, shampoo and soap have a very motel 6 feel. Sample sizes only, and no more than 1 towel per guest was provided. We had a great time on our trip and our love for Kauai is strong. I just feel like this place could easily be a 5 star stay, and i'm having to struggle with whether to give it 4 stars, or 3. Put a few bucks back in to it, get new furniture, new mattresses, and it's a 5 star place.

The Penthouse at Poipu Shores was the residence of a person who early on purchased and developed properties along the Poipu coastline. For this reason, this unit has the absolutely prime and most unique location of any property in the area. Completely oceanfront, our view extends from a wide panorama of ocean, with accompanying marine life (dolphins whales and monk seals), sea turtles and birds, boats, kayaks, stand up paddlers, wind and kite surfers, outriggers, along the entire southern coastline and then east to the beautiful central mountains. Mt Kahili and Mt. Waialaealae. Our spectacular 270 degree view is unique and unmatched by any other property in the area.
