El Penthouse en Poipu Shores es la unidad de la esquina en el piso superior, y está a solo unos metros del océano. Originalmente construido para el desarrollador, es el condominio más grande en Poipu Shores (2200 pies cuadrados). Con paredes de vidrio, indiscutiblemente tiene la vista más espectacular de cualquier propiedad en la costa sur: un panorama panorámico de 270 grados de la costa sur que se extiende hacia el oeste, Niihau, y las montañas centrales, el monte. Great location and beautiful view

My husband and I really enjoyed the location and walked to Poipu beach every night to watch the sea turtles on the beach. The view is spectacular as the reviews state.

Stunning view

View could not be beat. Saw turtles and whales from the balcony of the apartment and from the pool. Easy walk to the beach. Apt itself is slightly outdated for the price, and had multiple issues with the door lock. Staff was extremely helpful however (although still asked us to pay extra charge for late checkout when we were locked out of apt for an hour that morning dur to failure of wifi lock).

14th Anniversary

Location and views are amazing. We’ve stayed at many properties in Poipu, this one had the best view by far. Place needs some renovating and needed a deep clean. Light bulbs out in bedroom and bathroom, jacuzzi tub broke with caution tape all over it. Would have been nice to give us a heads up so we pack accordingly. Overall, people were very friendly, pool and grills were nice. Parking is VERY limited and with having the penthouse, a spot should be designated. Lot was full a few times so we parked up above.

We loved staying here & will stay again. Loved sitting on the balconey watching the whales, turtles & dolphins. Sunsets were anmazing. It was clean, a little worn but still a wonderful place to stay. Comfortable beds & maintence was on top of things. Close to everything. We'll be back!

Beautiful views

You can’t beat the view from this property! The penthouse was spacious and provided beautiful views all the way down Poipu Beach and well beyond, not to mention the ocean being spread out before you. My only recommendation would be to provide some kind of blinds because in the afternoon the sun gets absolutely blinding. Overall, a great place to stay

Clean and quiet paradise

We had a wonderful time! Condo was clean and convenient and has the best views! The property manager was very responsive and accommodating. The view is unmatched. We enjoyed watching whales, dolphins and turtles from the unit and lanai. Spacious, well laid out and perfectly finished, this unit was created with loving attention to detail. We stayed in January so no A/C was need, it even got a bit chilly on a few evenings which was fine with us. If I could have changed anything it would have been to have a memory foam king size bed in the master. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Great location close to the beach and a few restaurants. The views from the balcony are what you think they should be. You can see sea turtles from the balcony. I do recommend that you have the A/C turned on. It’s a little warm if you are not used to it.. I’d definitely stay again

Amazing location

This was our third visit to Poipu Shores…first time to this unit. Owner and staff were very easy to work with and responded quickly to our questions. Unit was spacious and worked beautifully for our family(2 grandparents, parents and two young children). The third bedroom with trundle bed worked well for kids. Having a third bath was a bonus. The view is unmatched. We enjoyed watching whales, dolphins and turtles from the unit and lanai. Even on a very rainy day we were happy as we looked out from our unit. I gave the unit a 5 when compared to others at this price. A few minor suggestions include switching out the kitchen sink and garbage disposal, consider a/c for the whole unit, some new furnishings and kitchen utensils. Overall, Poipu Shores is one of our favorite places in the islands. Mahalo🌺

Best Ocean View

We had a wonderful stay in Anne's Poipu Shores Penthouse Condo. The view is so amazing from the lanai, the master bedroom, the kitchen/dining room and the living area. Anne was very quick to answer any questions that I had. The staff at Poipu Shores was stellar. Always helpful with a smile on their faces. I would definitely stay here again. Mahalo, Anne!

Amazing View

The pictures don’t do it justice. Amazing view and the constantly crashing waves makes it even better. If there is one knock it’s the pool for the complex. It drops off pretty quickly so you need some sort of floatie. It’s a great location to everything.

BEST VIEW IN POIPU, but- place needs serious updating

I'll start with the pro's of this place, and there were plenty. The view's from 406A are quite simply, ridiculous. Breathtaking views up and down the southwest side of the island. The sound of the ocean against the rocks echoing through the condo is a great thing to hear while staying here. The views from the kitchen are panoramic of the ocean, mountain and all of the "gardens" Kauai has to offer. The pool at this place is amazing, hanging over the ocean with countless turtles swimming below all day every day. All of the cons of this place are annoying, because they are easily fixed. Firstly, this place needs updating in a catastrophic way. The furniture is surely late 90's, wicker style with glass that gets covered in a mixture of salt and humid air, and the white arm chairs are absolutely filthy. The L shapped coach smells horrible and feels grungy, and the outside patio furniture is very old, basic and not very comofrotable. Looking down at the neighbors below, with their new patio furniture made you wish this place followed suit. The kitchen appliances are also old and dated, the fridge has no cold water or ice dispenser and is fairly small. The oven door doesn't even close all the way, so the heat just escapes into the kitchen which heats up the kitchen. I reached out to anne to address, and she did say the range was already supposed to be replaced, but she's waiting on property management to install. The beach chairs and cooler that were provided were also old and needing replacing. The cooler handle was broken, and fixed with red duct tape, and the chairs were rusty and broken. Anne also was attentive to those issues, and actually new chairs arrived the next day. The biggest complaint by far came from my in-laws who we gave the master bedroom too. First, the mattress in the master is lumpy and worn, and like the queen mattress in the smaller bedroom, needs to be replaced, desperately. There are also no curtains whatsoever in the master, which i understand allows for an incredible view, but some people like sleeping past sunrise. Towels, shampoo and soap have a very motel 6 feel. Sample sizes only, and no more than 1 towel per guest was provided. We had a great time on our trip and our love for Kauai is strong. I just feel like this place could easily be a 5 star stay, and i'm having to struggle with whether to give it 4 stars, or 3. Put a few bucks back in to it, get new furniture, new mattresses, and it's a 5 star place.

Dramatic oceanfront sunset views

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the penthouse apartment at Poipu Shores. Location was perfect - a quick walk from Popui beach (and the turtles!) with stunning oceanfront sunset views from the large balcony. We saw turtles, whales and dolphins all from the comfort of the balcony. Apartment is well appointed — shower and bathroom en suite for each bedroom, which was nice. Note that the third bedroom has a small bed and can sleep only 1. Front desk staff were responsive and helpful. The condo complex has a great pool, which was heated (nice touch for winter). Dramatic setting of the pool was also fun — with waves crashing on the rocks below! Highly recommended!

What a View

My family loved staying here. The best feature was being right on the ocean. I was going to rent something cheaper inland, but my family talked me into stepping up to stay here. The views were amazing. We saw whales, seals, and sharks without ever leaving the lanai. Plus beautiful sunsets and the moon reflecting on the ocean. And the sounds of the crashing waves were the best white noise sound machine for sleeping. The unit came as advertised. A bit older and dated, but built with quality. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and we cooked both dinner and breakfast in the unit. It was also a great location for day trip excursions all around the island as well as walking to the nearby beaches.

Highly Recommend

Poipu Beach area has such a chill vibe. This condo is just a 2 minute walk to many beaches and restaurants. We saw dozens of turtles every day from the balcony, whales, dolphin and seals. No joke! The sunsets are unreal and the sound of the waves are amazing!

Absolute best location, BUT…

The location of this unit may be the best on the whole south shore. Spectacular sunsets, huge windows surrounding the whole perimeter of the unit and unlimited views. Waves crashing on the rocks was like nowhere we’ve ever stayed. However, I absolutely wouldn’t stay there without 2 improvements. The unit receives full, direct sun for several hours in the afternoon until sunset. There are no window coverings of any kind and no air conditioning in the main living area so the space gets unbearably hot even with the all the windows open and the fans on. While all the glass is a pure delight in the morning hours, there’s no place to escape the sun in the afternoon, except the 2 smaller bedrooms. After full days of touring and playing outside, we wanted to come back to a cool place to rest before going out to dinner. That simply wasn’t possible. All of the other units in the building appear to have window coverings and after talking with some of the other renters I found that they also had A/C. I don’t understand why the owner has decided not to have these amenities here. A/C should be added but I would say that at least there is A/C in the bedrooms (for $20 extra per night, which we definitely needed for sleeping). I would strongly recommend staying at Poipu Shores because the location can’t be beat. But until improvements are made to this 406A unit, enjoy your vacation by staying in another unit.

The Penthouse at Poipu Shores was the residence of a person who early on purchased and developed properties along the Poipu coastline. For this reason, this unit has the absolutely prime and most unique location of any property in the area. Completely oceanfront, our view extends from a wide panorama of ocean, with accompanying marine life (dolphins whales and monk seals), sea turtles and birds, boats, kayaks, stand up paddlers, wind and kite surfers, outriggers, along the entire southern coastline and then east to the beautiful central mountains. Mt Kahili and Mt. Waialaealae. Our spectacular 270 degree view is unique and unmatched by any other property in the area.
