This second-floor condo is in the heart of sunny Poipu and is walking distance to a variety of beaches and restaurants.



The condo features a full kitchen and a spacious wrap-around lanai that features panoramic ocean views. The master bedroom



The Space:

Makahuena 5201 is one of the best oceanfront condos that sunny Poipu has to offer. The Makahuena Resort is located on the southernmost point of Kaua'i. This unique oceanfront resort is situated on the edge of a bluff providing spectacular coastal views. This second-floor condo is in the heart of sunny Poipu and is walking distance to a variety of beaches and restaurants.



The condo features a full kitchen and a spacious wrap-around lanai that features panoramic ocean views. The master bedroom has a King-sized bed, as well as an ensuite bathroom. The guest bedroom also has two twin beds and a full guest bathroom.



We recommend soaking in the sun and enjoying the beautiful outdoors that Kauai has to offer. But if you need to stay connected, free wireless internet is provided. For your convenience, we provide some beach gear for your use: beach chairs, umbrella, small cooler, and beach towels.

We had a great stay. The view here is incredible. Being able to see the ocean anywhere you look inside and on the lanai is so amazing. We saw lots of whales, turtles, dolphins just lounging! The path to shipwreck beach was great. The pool and hot tub were enjoyed by our kids. Truly a beautiful place to relax!

The pictures lived up to real life. Hearing the waves everyday was tremendous. Had an issue with the AC and mgt team was there that day and handled it. Great check in and great property.

Beautiful views

Amazing views of sunset every day. Whale watching, turtles swimming, spinner dolphins and a monk seal! All viewed from the wrap around deck. Great location to take day trips or hang out locally.

Beautiful condo and view

The condo is beautiful. It was clean and the view is amazing. The pool and jacuzzi were big pluses. We would of loved some beach gear, chairs umbrellas, small ice chest. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing location. The pictures are every bit as real in person with waves crashing right outside the lanai and amazing sunrises (didn't see many of those) and sunsets every single night! Good luck finding a better oceanfront view on the entire island. So why not 5 stars? There was no A/C in the living/kitchen area, so everyday was a humid 85-90 degrees. You almost had to sit on the lanai so you could get a breeze. The bedrooms had split units so as long as we kept the doors to them closed, they did very well. The other issue I had was with the lack of flexibility with the living room TV. You needed to log into the TV to add an app and was told that was not an option (wanted to watch YouTubeTV and ESPN) for college bowl games. Never had that issue at other VRBOs but I will say the customer service was fast. At least they told me NO quickly! Haha. Summary - great location with views that trumped the issues noted above.

Kauai Ocean Dream

This was our first time staying east of the Poipu green belt, and we LOVED it! You could see the resort lights to the west, and you could walk both to the popular Poipu beaches, and ship wreck beach. We found this condo to be more relaxing and natural than others we stayed at. You can watch both the sunrise and sunset from this condo, and the waves and views were spectacular! We loved walking the heritage trail in the morning and evening. It is humid and wet in the main living area because you are literally a stones throw from the ocean cliffs, but it did not bother our family. There is air conditioning in the bedrooms, and the bedrooms can be closed off for sleeping. We would consider staying at this location again if it was available. Mahalo:)

Great Views, location & stocked with beach gear!

Enjoyed our 5 night stay here. The unit is stocked with everything you need. We especially enjoyed all the beach gear - made life so easy! The views on the deck are spectacular. Watched the sunset whenever we were home and ate all meals on the patio. Can watch the surfers and just enjoy the amazing view. Not having A/C can be an issue, but if you utilize the fans & open the right windows properly you can get a great breeze going through the unit. We didn't utilize the pool or hot/tub as we kept busy exploring during the day. The only recommendation I would make is the blue towels should be replaced as they had an odor to them even after we washed again. Minor detail. We were able to do wash every night and keep on top of keeping the unit clean. It is centrally located to everything in the area and has a great Poke shack on site. Great place to stay!

All about the view!

Our favorite part of this rental was sitting on the Lanai every morning, enjoying watching sunrise and the waves crash against the rocky shore below. Even saw whales , dolphins and turtles from the Lanai. The second was the spaciousness and layout. The complex was quiet and safe and we had no issues with parking. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 were : The guest bathroom shower having very poor to no water pressure due to a bad tub spout which did not get fixed during our stay(the management company said they ordered a spout) . The trash can in the kitchen was half full of garbage when we arrived and the place was fairly clean but not as clean as it should be. Some other things didn't work but weren't significant enough to worry about. The AC in both bedrooms worked great as did everything in the kitchen. Plenty of amenities . Overall great stay, amazing island. Would stay in this condo again

Everything was great except the brown film on the floor which turned a few pair of my socks brown. We believe it was probably a haze of grout, as the grout looked fresh, so no big deal. It is a very comfortable unit and the balcony and the view are fantastic! Kitchen is equipped well.
