Great place in a great location

Just a terrific place and host. Perfect spot for a short or longer stay in Louisville. It's minutes to any of the places of interest in town and the host has gone out of their way to make this a comfortable home away from home.

This house was very spacious and comfortable. There were several restaurants and taverns nearby and easy access to our ultimate venue.

Great Location in Quiet Neighborhood

Location is great and convenient to downtown Louisville. Family members were participating in Ironman race and this location made it very easy to run back and forth from downtown to let dog out/pick up needed items from house. Home is clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Host was very responsive when we had questions. Would stay here again when in town.

Cozy Cottage

This property was exactly what we expected for our multi family vacation. Plenty of space, good hot water & pressure. They even left us some welcome snacks! We will definitely consider this property next year when we return.

Great location and house

The house was better than anticipated. Very tall ceilings make the house seem larger. The layout allows for privacy in the bedrooms. Bathrooms are large and the fenced yard is a big plus when you have dogs. Good restaurants that are walkable and Kroger is a 5 min walk too.

Charming House

We had a wonderful stay and would happily return. The host responded promptly and thoroughly to our questions before and during our stay. Check in was easy and the house was stocked with everything we needed. The house was exactly as described and the work from home setup in the living room was an amazing bonus. Fast and stable internet with 3 folks working simultaneously. The neighborhood is charming with lots to do and see within walking distance. Overall fantastic stay!

Kentucky Stay

Wonderful and cute neighborhood. It was super quiet and the check in and check out process was easy. I am an avid VRBO-er, so this was my first time having to inform the owner we had departed. I would have liked some laundry items and miscellaneous kitchen stuff like foil, bigger trash bags, and/or salt and pepper but that is minor. Also needed to add an extra day right after initial booking and it was easily accommodated. Will definitely be back without kids because the neighborhood is centrally located for a great girl/guys trip.

Very satisfied

My brother and I took our mother to Churchill Downs for her 80th birthday celebration. We couldnt have been more pleased with our stay at The Vernon house. Everthing was just as advertised. The house is very clean and had plenty of room for just the 3 of us in separate rooms. Neighborhood was very quiet and off-street covered parking was nice. Very close to several restaurants, bars, etc. We even walked to Galant Fox Brewery just a couple blocks away. Would definitely recommend Vernon House to anyone travelling to Derby City.

Great Host

Host is very accommodating to meet my family needs . Thank you so much . Easy booking . Easy process of finding the house and enter the property . House is located in the older neighborhood that is quiet , friendly, and closed to many food places . It is a one-story house with the master bathroom having handle bars , which is very helpful for my 93- year old mom . There is also a big enough fenced yard for our dog to run around. Thank you for letting us stay at your place .

Great house in Lousiville

Lovely home You can tell lots of care has gone into making it a great place to rest. The tall ceilings and arched doorways give it an open and airy feel. I appreciated the little touches the owners included to make our stay a good one. Three bedrooms accommodated the family well. The main bath is huge! A/C worked great. Fenced in backyard was perfect for our dog to run around in. My son was outside playing with the neighbor kids and had a blast. Close to grocery and restaurants, easy on and off the interstate. I would certainly stay here again when in Louisville for business or leisure.

Great house, great location

We had a 5 star stay at the Vernon House. It’s a great location right off of Franklin street, with lots of local cafes and restaurants in walking distance. You could spend the entire trip walking to local spots if you wanted, and it’s also a convenient location to all the larger attractions in Louisville. Most places we visited we a 15 minute or less drive from the house- the zoo, Cherokee park, downtown, to name a few. Everything in the house was as described, clean, and responsive hosts. It’s a great option for any group, but especially for families as the neighborhood is quiet and the house has extra amenities for infants and toddlers like a high chair, pack n play (bring your own sheet), and infant tub. There were even a small assortment of board books and toys (mostly soft wheeled toys). We would definitely stay at Vernon again next time we come to Louisville.

As a host, I strive to do all I can to ensure you enjoy your time in Louisville to the fullest. Myself and my co-hosts (bourbon who are self-proclaimed bourbon connoisseurs) are always available to offer recommendations to anything around the city. We would love to share our favorite restaurants, bourbon bars, and family activities with you. Our family lives close by should you need any assistance during your stay, but are happy to give you space to make yourselves comfortable and enjoy Louisville should you prefer.

At the Vernon House, you'll find full-sized bunk beds, a queen bed, and king bed spread across three bedrooms. Also available to all guests is an infant tub, pack n play, and small collection of kids toys. My favorite feature of the home is the large, fully fenced backyard that is the perfect spot to relax on a warm evening. I have put a lot of thought into making the space cozy, welcoming, and equipped with everything you might need during your stay.
