Water Use & Septic
• No outdoor water games, sprinklers, slip and slides, or kiddie pools
• Flush toilet paper only (no wipes or paper products)

Wildlife Awareness
• Located in a rural Catskills setting with active wildlife
• Common sightings may include deer, raccoons, foxes, and coyotes
• Insects and occasional rodents are part of the natural environment in rural areas
• While the home is professionally cleaned and maintained, sightings of ants, insects, or signs of wildlife may occur, especially seasonally
• Do not leave food or trash outside or unattended indoors

Winter Travel (October–April)
• Rural, mountainous roads can be unpredictable
• AWD, FWD, or 4WD recommended
• All-weather tires with good tread required
• Avoid rear-wheel drive vehicles in snow or ice
• Driveway is plowed and shoveled every 3–4 inches of snow
• Shovel provided for guest use
• Salt is not provided—guests are advised to bring some if needed
• Host and service providers cannot provide roadside assistance or tow services
• There is no street parking allowed between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM from November 1 through April 1.

Beautiful Home

My husband, our two young boys and I had a fabulous time at Hygge House. The location is perfect - very short walk to the main street in Margaretville and quick drive to Belleayre. The house was spotless and decorated beautifully. Kim was also kind and easy to communicate with; she checked in periodically and also warned us about an impending storm. We would definitely stay here again.

Great house close to town and Bellayre

This is our 2nd year skiing at Bellayre and staying in a house that is walking distance from the main street of Margaretville, and abouta 12 minute drive to Bellayre. There is a great diner called Bun n Cone and a nice dinner restaurant called Binnekill Tavern. Grocery shopping is walking distance too. The house itself is very nice, definitely plenty of space for our family of 4. The kitchen is nice and bright, as well as all the rooms upstairs. The bathrooms are also well lit and there is plenty of hot water for showers and great water pressure. The only issues we had with the house, which may not be issues for everyone, is the lighting in the living room and dining room is minimal, and there aren’t many outlets in thise rooms either. The lighting in the downstairs bedroom is also minimal.

Thank you for your nice review. I'm glad the house worked for you and your family. Margaretville has a lot of great shops and restaurants! The ceiling lights in the dining room and living room are on dimmers so they can be adjusted and there are lamps for other lighting sources. We typically use 60 watt bulbs as they tend to be not too bright but not too dim either. But as you mentioned, it could be a matter of preference. If you visit again I can always put some 100 watts outs so you can put them in the lamps if you want.
