Good location, renovated home

This home is in a good location close to corktown and downtown Detroit. The place is renovated but we struggled to communicate about check in with the host and the bathroom was not clean.

A quiet, safe, comfortable stay

The property was very clean and comfortable, with many nice modern touches in the kitchen and bathroom. We were initially concerned about the safety of the neighborhood before booking since there was little current information, but the owner was very reassuring and the neighborhood lived up to the owner’s representations as safe and quiet. We would stay again.

Comfortable and Well Located Abode

A weekend visit to Detroit to see our daughter. House served us very well. We were able to walk to some of our destinations and also a short drive elsewhere. Nice off street parking and comfortable digs for hanging out. Very comfortable beds!

Beautiful home near the heart of Detroit

Our group of four friends found Aveline's Abode to be the perfect gathering spot for our reunion. The home is beautifully decorated and provided more than enough comfortable space for us to relax or come home to after a full day. We had one question during our stay and the manager was immediately responsive. We can't recommend highly enough!

Excellent stay

Came into Detroit for a show and wanted to stay close to the venue and have cross access to food activities. This property looks very newly remodeled. Clean and inviting. Plenary of space for 4 adults. Excellent communication from host. Accommodating and went above and beyond for requests. I would stay here again and recommend to those coming to Corktown. Thank you )

Great stay for downtown activities

House was great, easy and convenient for our planned events downtown. My only critique would be to please have a regular cofffee setup for guests, there was expresso but thats a little too fancy for us lol. Also the beds were very firm which i do prefer a medium mattress. But those were minor details. Overall the house was lovely, we loved the layout and updated decor and details!!

One of the best locations I ever stayed at!

I had an amazing experience at this location. Check-in was one of the easiest I ever done and parking to door walk was simple! Only a few stairs to climb. Once in, the location was spotless clean. The interior is gorgeous and that bathroom is phenomenal! The location was also provided with everything you need. I can't recommend this place enough, please stay here when you get the chance. I've seen a few others talk about the neighborhood. I had no issues at all with loud noises or rude neighbors. Keep it simple, in and out and you'll be fine.

Quiet neighbor

Started off a little inconvenient after a confirmed early checkin did not happen & the electricity was out! After that, things smoothed out with good communication & problem solving. An electric kettle is needed for the wonderful French press. Could have used a larger bowl for popcorn that was provided! The bath tub & shower were fabulous! The beds were great as were the towels. Overall a wonderful stay! Thank you for sharing

Getaway With Friends

Very clean, super convenient location to restaurants and freeway. We would stay here again. One inconvenience, there’s a printer on the desk but no printer paper. When I checked in with the host, it took 8 hours and 3 messages to receive a response, which was they do not provide printer paper. (We actually needed to print out tickets) can’t figure out why there’s a printer if it’s not usable.

In town for concert

Our family of 4 including two teens stayed for the weekend to enjoy the city and attend a concert at Little Ceaser’s Arena. Overall it was a nice place and as pictured. The renovations were well done. Although the neighborhood is up and coming, we felt safe. Unfortunately, the cleaners prior to our arrival left laundry in the washer and dryer, garbage in the trash, food in the fridge, and didn’t clean the microwave (it was disgusting). The rest of the place looked and felt clean. I loved how there were lots of supplies and that the host wasn’t stingy with toilet paper, etc. I would recommend some wine glasses be added and additional plates be provided.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a detailed review! I'm glad your family had a nice stay and enjoyed the renovations and the convenience for the concert. I sincerely apologize for the oversights with the cleaning—this is not up to our usual standards, and I'll be addressing it with the cleaning team to ensure it doesn't happen again. I also appreciate your suggestions for additional wine glasses and plates; I'll make sure to add those. Thanks again for your feedback, and I hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future!

Wished to stay longer

I personally loved what I got to experience in Detroit and wished we would have stayed longer. All my pre-arrival anxiety was unnecessary. This is a lovely renovated home in a nice, safe neighborhood. The pictures well represent the property. My only constructive criticism is that I would have preferred a regular coffee maker. They provided a nice french press but I like to preprogram and have my coffee ready before I get up. Also, I would suggest providing some extra blankets in the closets for the beds. I like the weight and coziness of blankets. I realize these are personal preferences so may not apply to others but easy fixes just in case they do. I would definitely recommend this property to others.
