Secluded Home - San Juan Views

Enjoy this home’s grand view of the San Juan and La Plata Mountains outside the town of Durango, CO and conveniently located 3 miles from Durango - La Plata County Airport. This 3 bedroom/2 bath home will offer you a quiet, relaxing home away from home.

Secluded Home with San Juan Views, a 1,600-square-foot custom home, sits on a lightly timbered knoll with room to explore 35 private acres or just quietly enjoy the pond, covered patio, young orchard, and outdoor fire pit. Enjoy a card game, movie or read a book in the heated 20' detached yurt. A 6 person hot tub with a full mountain view awaits.

Built in 2014, this modern home has an open, single-story floor plan with hardwood floors, granite-slab countertops, and a fully equipped kitchen that opens into a great room/dining space. Enjoy dinner in the dining area which comfortably seats 6 people with additional seating at the island, or head out for a quiet meal and sunshine on the covered patio complete with patio furnishings and a propane grill.

At night, curl up in two guest bedrooms with queen beds with access to a full bath. The master bedroom boasts more mountain views from the king-size bed and glass doors and includes an attached full bath with Indian marble tub/shower.

Enjoy everything the Durango area has to offer - downtown shops and restaurants only 25 minutes away - or an afternoon at Vallecito Reservoir or Lake Nighthorse. Venture out to the surrounding small towns of Bayfield and Ignacio, or make it a day trip and visit the beautiful Mesa Verde National Park and its famous cliff dwellings only an hour away. If you're looking for winter sports, don't forget to try out downhill skiing and tubing at Purgatory Ski Resort. For groomed cross-country skiing trails, check out the activities at Purgatory Nordic Center, Hillcrest Golf Course, or Vallecito Reservoir. Be sure to book a scenic trip on the historic Durango Train - operating year round with trips to Cascade Canyon, Silverton, and the always popular holiday Polar Express!

WOW.When we arrived the outside was stunning. The code on the front door worked, as noted. Other reviews state it was well outfitted. I needed a bandaid that night. They had one. I needed a thermometer to judge the doneness. They had one. We spent hours watching the fire planes take off and land. Days watching wild life. Jack rabbits, mule deer?Elk? The owners gave their personal phone numbers to everyone who stays. The attention to detail... House construction, landscape and privacy, one of a kind.

We have stayed in many places, but we have to say this was our favorite. The picture windows allow you to enjoy the Mountain Views and the wildlife! We saw elk, jack rabbits, squirrels, blue birds, prairie dogs, and could hear the pond frogs. It is secluded which is exactly what we wished for. It was such a pleasure to walk the dogs here, and they loved the pond! It was easy to drive into town. We also did a train ride, drove to Mesa Verde, and hiked around. I can’t wait to stay here again. Oh, the hot tub has a great view!

Another wonderful stay

This is our second stay at the home. We can’t rave enough about this home to meticulously well cared for and the host are communicative and easy to work with. The views of the mountains are spectacular. We can’t recommend this house enough.

Every year or so my wife and myself get together for vacation with our nieces and nephews; we all love the outdoors and staying together and this rental was PERFECT!

Beautiful and secluded

If you’re looking for a beautiful place to stay on the outskirts of Durango near the airport without hearing planes, this is it. We stayed here with friends for the week and it was so nice to come back to a quiet house after site seeing all day. The host was amazing to work and answered all my questions. We would defiantly come back and stay here again.

Durango stay

The house is very well organized. The set up is great for small group. Loved the large kitchen dining livingroom area. The woodwork throughout is lovely. The artwork really enhances the space. The views are fantastic. Very peaceful. The pictures don't do it justice...lots of little gardens to sit in on the property.

Perfect get away yet still connected for remote work

First of all, they are not kidding when they say San Juan views... amazing!. We were able to sit on the back porch hearing the frogs in the pond and the crickets, while watching the storms roll over the mountains. Almost every time the rain never got to us. Sunrises and sunsets were glorious. We walked around the property, took a few mile run along the road, relaxed. It’s a miracle that there are no mosquitoes! The yurt was really cool and a great place to get away from the house and have some quiet if you need to work or just find some time for yourself. It got a little warm, but I imagine in the spring fall and winter that would be amazing. Everything was exactly as it showed in the pictures. We would definitely come back another time. It’s kind of far from Durango and Pagosa but if you’re looking for seclusion, it hits a spot!

Quiet, Wonderful views and awesome place

Truly a wonderful and relaxing stay. The house is gorgeous, extremely clean and looks inside and out as if it is brand new. The views are wonderful.
