Overall this was a great option for a short term stay. Easy access to the beach and tons of great restaurants! The hosts were fantastic, we had a minor issue and the owner called immediately, offered multiple solutions, and resolved our issue within 12 hours (I reported the issue the night before and we had everything resolved by the next morning). One minor thing to note - while there did not appear to be any issue with this, the floor was uneven in multiple areas. For example, the bathroom floor was uneven and the toliet was noticeably leaning to the left. Again, wasn't a huge issue and did not impact our stay. Overall, I would recommend!

Cute Little Apartment Close to the Beach

Very cute little apartment just across the street from the beautiful beach. We had everything we needed to stay a few days and enjoy a peaceful family beach vacation!

Surf City Ocean Fest

This place is perfect for a quick trip to surf city. Close to the pier and the little downtown. Very clean. We would book again in a heartbeat.

we just felt the late check in and early check out put a sour taste in our mouths about the property. WE are there to enjoy the beach but because of the check out policy we lost a full day of beach time.

The Hideaway C was absolutely perfect for our long weekend in Surf City. The location is unbeatable (minute walk to the public beach access, walking distance to grocery store, Surf City Coffee and Daybreak Donuts!) so you need not worry about parking. In fact, I don't think we even got into the car again after we arrived until it was time to pack up and head home. The apartment is clean, updated, and adorable. The playset was an awesome added bonus for my three year old. Another reviewer mentioned the size of the bathroom, and it was tight, but doable for a small family. Would absolutely recommend to any other small families or couples, especially those with young children and/or pets. We will book again!

As-Advertised - Great Experience

I stayed here and worked while my son attended Sea Turtle Camp for the week in N. Topsail. It was as-advertised. On the plus side, I spent my early morning walking the dog and getting breakfast/coffee (there are tons of options within walking distance) and ate on the beach across from the house, then worked throughout the day, went for a run, then walked to dinner (same thing, lots of options). Rinse and repeat every day during the week. By the time the week came to end, I didn't want to leave. It was comfortable, cozy, and had most everything you need for a long stay. The backyard is as big as it looks, and they have swinging doors at the top of the stairs to keep the dogs in. Mine hung out with me on the front porch when I took calls. The front of the house with the kitchen and family area was updated and super nice. On the could-do-better side is the back of the house. One of the beds is not terribly comfortable, and the rooms could use a little warmth, or TLC as my mom used to say. The bathroom is tiny, and as a tall guy, that was a little bit of a challenge, but like the backyard, the bathroom picture is accurately shown in the listing. Finally, the walls are a little thin. There was a family staying next door with a baby, and I could hear it cry most days when I was working, and could hear muffled conversation, but not so thin as to overhear conversations. All things considered, however, I really enjoyed my stay. So 5*s.

Observations

All in all a nice stay and we hope to maybe rent that unit again next August. I think its important to bring a few things to your attention that I believe need to be addressed. Not complaining just trying to help. Thanks to all for our stay 1. The TV frequently went into buffering which made it necessary for us to continuously re start our streaming service. It was often required for us to un-plug the TV to reset the operation of the wireless reception The network was very confusing for multiple TVs appeared on out mobile controls and we did not know which TV was ours. Sometimes one TV appeared and sometimes two or three appeared. Seems like the network needs to be cleaned better organized 2. The condition of HVAC vent above the couch seemed to be troubled after the recent storm. If appears to be dislodging from the ceiling and after the storm the drywall looks wet around the perimeter of the vent. In addition cracks developed in the paint (I do not believe they were there when we arrived) which usually indicates water infiltration of some sort. Maybe condensation which can develop if hot air is leaking into the vent due to a failing connection of the ductwork 3. The vent over the bed in first bedroom also has a similar condition and and condensation drips off the vent onto the bed below. The drywall around the perimeter of the vent also looks wet and appears black as if mold is potentially developing because of the continuous supply of moisture from the condensation
