Our personal home, on a quiet court, the home is fully-equipped for our Air B&B guests when we are out of town. The cottage boasts all brand new appliances, exposed ceilings, and a sleek modern-look that keeps that classic cottage charm. It's a great space for those on a work-cation getaway or families traveling with little ones.

This was a perfect Mission Beach stay. Only a few steps from both the Bay and the beach. It is also a short walk to a market, restaurants, rental shops, and more. The house has awesome outdoor space and some beach supplies, which was great because we could not fly with paddleboards, beach chairs, etc. The owners were extremely responsive and answered amy questions we had during our stay within minutes. I would 100% stay here again. Highly recommend.

Amazing Stay

We had an amazing 5 days at Cash & Casey’s place! The location was perfect, easy walk to the beach and steps away from the bay. Walking distance from great coffee and restaurants, and quick drives to so many locations. The vibe of the neighborhood is great, with friendly neighbors. We had a few minor issues that the owners took care of so swiftly & communication was great. And the cottage was beautiful, clean & so well appointed. 10/10 for sure!

Easy walk to the bay and the beach!

Had a great trip. Short walk to the bay or to the beach for fishing, paddleboarding, boogie boarding, beach volleyball, and swimming. Would recommend and stay here again! The ONLY downside is our truck did not fit in the parking space but I wasnt expecting it to just knowing the area and how tight the parking is. Anything shorter than a full size, crew cab, long bed pickup will fit just fine.

Spring Break

Facilities were good for the most part, minor issues but always solvable with a little help for the owner. She does live just down the street and was always accessible which was helpful, but sometimes did feel like she was also checking up on us. But overall a positive experience and would recommend staying there for a short beach trip.

Amazing Beach property

Everything we needed was there and more. A quick 4 min walk to the beach. We didn’t have to drive one place. Everything was in walking distance. We would definitely recommend this property!

Great Stay in Mission Beach!

We had a great stay at the Modern Cottage. The cottage was clean, modern, and super cute! The location is the best. It is a few steps from the bay and just across the street from the beach. It is also close so restaurants, coffee shops, beach rentals, etc. The room with the bunk beds were perfect for my daughters and they enjoyed all the toys that were available for them to play with. The street is very quiet at night even on the weekends which was a plus. We used their boogie boards for swimming but they also had beach chairs and paddle boards. We would definitely stay here again. And thanks to Casey to having us!

Perfect for families!

This was, hands down, the best beach house our family has vacationed at in San Diego!! While the house is small, the outdoor spaces (front patio and a more private backyard) offer additional space. The house is equipped with everything you would need during your stay. Ceiling fans and an AC unit help keep the house cool during summer days - we had to buy our own fan at other rentals. We traveled with our young children (ages 2 and 5) and the house has plenty of children’s toys and books to keep kiddos entertained. We loved our time at this cozy cottage. We will definitely book again!!

End of Summer Vacay

The cottage was Excatly as described. We arrived in SD a little earlier than we had planned and the host was so accommodating and let us check in early. The cottage has a great outdoor living space with plenty of seating and a grill. The kitchen had everything you would need which was nice. The house also had plenty of bath towels and more than enough beach towels. We didn’t have any small kids but the house had plenty of toys and activities for them if you do. My adult children loved the boogie boards and beach chairs not to mention the paddle board available and bikes!! So many options for outdoor activities was awesome. The location was really close to restaurants and a couple mini marts - walking distance for sure. We throughly enjoyed our stay!

When Casey and Cash married in May 2015, Casey vowed they would eventually own a home in Mission Beach and Cash skeptically nodded. Fast forward to 2021, and Casey’s manifestations were made true when they bought and fully renovated their very own, small, beach cottage.

Now they are opening their home whenever they travel to those seeking the perfect space for a work-cation or a place well-suited for families with little ones.

Their outdoor spaces are ideal for the San Diego vacationer, with a fire pit and lounge area in the front yard and a private dining area in the back. To boot, it’s a neighbor-friendly court, away from the party-scene where you can relax and enjoy your time nested between the ocean and bay with paddle boards and surfboards available for you to use.

Long-term residents of Mission Beach, and San Diego at large, they have tons of advise on the best restaurants and adventures for their guests.
