Absolutely gorgeous, quaint & cozy house located on the amazing spring fed Lake Owen. Just renovated, brand new furniture throughout, everything is brand new. A must see lake house. The breeze off the deck is mesmerizing.

This is a house that you really come to relax and enjoy family time. Fish, grill out, canoe or pedal boat. Everything you need is there other than a fishing pole.
A brand new canoe is there for your use and a 2023 four seat pedal boat is included in your rental.

Gas grill, picnic table, firepit and cornhole game is on site

This Lakehouse is located only 1 block off of Hwy 40 for easy travel to many of Florida's natural springs, where the water is clear, cool and makes for great swimming and kayaking. Juniper Springs is 10 miles; Silver Springs is 15 miles; Silver Glen Springs is 20 miles, St. Johns River in Astor is 22 miles, Alexander Springs is 25 miles, Rainbow Springs is 38 miles, & it's only 15 miles to Ocala, & 60 miles to Daytona Beach. Winn Dixie grocery store, gas, bait and a couple places to get a bite are all within 1/2 mile or less.

Everything about our stay was very enjoyable. We loved the open floor plan and especially the windows with the view of the lake. The appliances, TV and fireplace were very nice. We could have used a dresser in the bedroom. The owner, Dave, was very responsive to any problems or questions we had during the weeks we were there. We had a wonderful stay.

Great little cozy retreat

Fantastic

Wonderful stay on the lake. Grandkids caught their first fish! Property is completely remodeled very nicely inside and very comfortable. Fire pit outside was very nice…grandkids did s’mores. We really enjoyed our stay…relaxing.

Great few days at this cute lakefront cottage!

We enjoyed our stay very much. This cottage is very nicely remodeled and we found everything we needed for our stay. The host has some nice extras to make your stay more enjoyable. The canoe and paddle boat were a hit with my teenage children (and husband). Beautiful lakefront view and very comfortable beds. We would definitely stay again.

Perfect Place

This place was perfect! It was very clean & the decor was nicely done! The kitchen had everything we needed, and the view while cooking was awesome! We will definitely be back.

Great little place

Traveled to the area to kayak Silver Springs. The property was close to the state park and offered a beautiful lake view of its own. Property was very clean and new décor, beds were very comfortable. Communicated with owners on a few occasions and found them very responsive and accommodating. Overall a great stay.

Cozy Cottage!

The property was adorable and clean. A great location if you are planning on exploring Silver Springs and Juniper Springs state parks. Right in the middle of both parks. Ocala was also close by with a great downtown area with lots of restaurants. We would book this home again.

The house and property are beautiful; we had a nice relaxing time. We used the canoe and enjoyed the deck, grill and views. I thought we had use to the dock in the pictures, but you don't, so that was a bit disappointing. We were excited to fish of the dock. It would have been nice to have a bit better water access to launch the canoe. The traffic is very fast moving so you better be ready to swing onto the road and out of it. The road going in is really rough. Overall, we thought it was great and would highly recommend staying here. Lots of area to relax, we took advantage of every nook and cranny. It was very clean, and you had wonderful open views.

The property looked like the pictures and was a great place to stay while we visited Ocala National Forest. The canoe and paddle boat were fun to take on the lake. The communication was slow and I was not able to get the key to the canoe the first night. Also after taking the sheets off the beds at the end of our stay we found a pee stain on one of the mattresses. I contacted the owner and they said they were ordering a new mattress right away and wondered why there was no mattress protector on the bed. Hopefully they are following through with that.

Yes, our lake house is a great place to stay & we pride ourselves on rapid communication with our guests. That is why we responded to your request for the key to the canoe in only 8 minutes.... Your statement is inaccurate. You texted at 3:48 pm Fri. to get the key code. I texted you the code 8 minutes later at 3:56; so, you had it 4 minutes PRIOR to your scheduled check in. The new mattress was ordered and has already been delivered. Thank you for letting us know about that.

Overall nice cottage

Nice on inside with all toiletries and towels provided with washer and dryer and all the stuff provided to use. Outside shower convenient for bigger groups as only 1 inside. The paddle boat doesn't work make sure you take oars to navigate. Convenient for fishing. It was nice during july 4th with firworks right there on lake. The contacts were available with any questions as i bugged them alot. Overall great experience.

Spacious and easy

This house was great-we were meeting up with extended family in the Ocala national forest, but needed more space. I loved the layout. There is a super separate, quiet comfy sun porch and the kitchen is far from the bedrooms (ideal with kids). Overall, loved it!

All the Comforts of Home

We had everything we needed at the cottage to be very comfortable for the entire month and David was quick to respond when we reached out. It was great to have multiple outdoor sitting areas and ample space in the house with comfy beds. The lake view was wonderful, and we enjoyed frequent visits from the sandhill cranes and little blue herons.Thank you David and Darlene for creating such a wonderful space and sharing it with us.

Beautiful Lake View

We really enjoyed our stay at the Silver Springs Lakefront cottage!!! It was super clean, was completely updated and had beautiful lake views. The owners were available with any questions or needs. The beds were very comfortable! They had a canoe and paddle boat to use on the lake. The only negative was the road noise but we "toned it out" and had a wonderful relaxing time!

Perfect for spring break

We stayed at the cottage with our 2 kids and their friends (4 kids, ages 10-17) for our spring break. We live in a beach town and were looking for a Central-Florida experience away from the coast. The cottage was perfect for our group, with plenty of sleeping space and outdoor activities. We were able to paddle Silver Spring Run, hike and geocache in Salt Springs, and zip line go for a horseback trail ride at the Canyons. Despite our active, busy days, the kids ran to the lake as soon as we returned to the cottage to use the pedal boat, kayak and fish. The weather was perfect for a fire and s’mores at night. The host was responsive when we needed an early check in to avoid bad weather and was helpful throughout our stay. The only negative was road noise from the nearby highway, but it still felt like an escape to a peaceful lake. Great experience!

Perfect but nerve wracking

I was initially worried about the small dirt road to the house. My sister said it was too narrow for her van. We fit our vehicles but didn’t try with our dually truck. We parked it at our parents. With the wedding getting closer, I had hoped communication was quicker. I had initially messaged a greeting that no one answered (still left unanswered) and it was hard to get anyone on the phone (VRBO reps tried as well on two separate occasions). I sent a message with my inquiry through the app hoping it wouldn’t go unnoticed and they responded. But despite the hiccups and missed communications, my family and I were so happy to have this place during our wedding. So many memories were made here. My only recommendation is to work less like a business owned property, get the door hinges fixed, greet potential guests and be more personable! Thank you!
