The home was clean and tidy with spacious, large rooms, but very sparsely furnished and appointed. The VRBO pictures make the home appear comfortable and nicely decorated when in fact very few, if any, of the comforts shown in the pictures actually exist in the home today. The lack of amenities and furnishings was surprising. The great room area was practically barren other than a stiff couch and little dining table with chairs suited for outdoors. We actually had to buy plastic forks and knives, shampoo and cups. Host reimbursed us for personal items like shampoos and soap.
The kitchen was another letdown. Instead of finding a fully equipped cooking space, we were greeted with no utensils, no paper towels, no dish towels and hardly any cookware. As a result, we ended up eating out every meal, which significantly impacted the amount of money we spent.
Further, the bedrooms lacked any sense of comfort or charm, again, nothing like the pictures. There are very few amenities and strangely almost all the pillows had sham covers, not typically used for sleeping. We had no plans to use the spa/Jacuzzi, but it was uninhabitable anyway, the birds used it for bathing.
We have stayed in dozens of VRBOs (and the other company) over the years, all with a great deal of satisfaction, but this one was disappointing. Had the website pictured the home as it actually was, we wouldn’t not have stayed here, especially for the price.
