We're Bill and Jen Adams and we welcome you to River Rose Cottage, a tiny slice of luxury in Kennebunk, Maine! River Rose is a recently renovated 378 sq ft cottage with private, deeded access to the Mousam River. Bring your kayaks or canoes, or rent them locally, or just relax at the firepit with a river view. French country comfort awaits!

Enjoy all the comforts of a cozy Maine getaway with a queen sized bed, a vintage 5 foot clawfoot tub/shower combo and an electric fireplace with heat setting. River Rose Cottage is just 1.2 miles from I-95, making it easy to explore Portsmouth, Ogunquit, Portland, and beyond!

The River Rose Cottage is absolutely adorable! We walked in and Frank Sinatra was playing with homemade cookies & a handwritten note. Everything was just like the photos and it felt like we walked into Paris. We had such a lovely stay. It was a quick 10-12 minute drive to Kennebunkport and not far from anything else we wanted to get out and do. Highly recommend this sweet little cottage if you are traveling in the Kennebunk area! If you walk to the back of the property there are also two chairs and a gas fire pit overlooking the river.

A perfect retreat!

This place is so special! My husband and I came up for a weekend stay and felt so refreshed by the end of our time. All the thoughtful details from the cookies, wine and music upon entering to the well-maintained, high quality linens and decor made this place a delight! The view of the river from the fire pit was exceptional! The bath salts and tub were divine! A 10-15 minute walk to downtown restaurants and delicious bakeries made this location work well for us. We will definitely be back! Thanks to the hosts for excellent communication from allowing an early check-in,and great local recommendations. So many thanks!

Kennebunk Gem

This sweet cottage was the perfect place for our stay in Kennebunk. Our host, Jen, was readily available and responded quickly to messages. We were greeted with fresh chocolate chip cookies and music playing. The cottage is immaculate and includes meaningful small touches: robes & slippers, bottle of wine, and coffee. The backyard is just as nice with 2 chairs and an electronic fire pit looking out at the river. The location is walkable to the quaint downtown, allowed us to ride our bikes to the beaches, and travel to nearby towns. We plan to stay again.

The property was even better in person than the pictures described. Very clean, and beautifully decorated. Stocked with everything you would need. The hosts recommendations for restaurant's and things to do were on point. We had a wonderful time exploring the area with this lovely little cottage to come back to at the end of the day.

Perfect down to the details

Lovely Curated Stay in Kennebunk

The stay at the cottage was six star - not only were the fittings and design immaculate and tasteful, but the extra thought and impeccable hosting makes the cottage truly exceptional. From the handwritten note to the music playing on arrival and fireplace to set the tone for the stay, I wouldn’t change a thing. Even the wine chilling in the fridge was “Perfect Stranger” (clever and a nice touch that I appreciate as a fellow hostess with the most-est). The hosts are true hosts - checking in and always quick to respond. Though a smaller space, you have an everything needed to make your stay an unforgettable one - and each piece is painstakingly curated to enhance it. The unexpected bonus is the beautiful lawn stretching back to the gas fire pit and riverside patio area. The neighborhood is residential and the home is closer to the street, so the only slight drawback was some usual traffic noise in the morning, but more than made up for by the cottage itself. Overall, the location is great, a short drive to Kennebunk downtown. I’m looking forward to my next stay (and didn’t want to leave)!

Perfect cozy cabin in Kennebunk!

We travel and stay in rentals a lot, and this was easily one of the most well thought out and beautifully appointed places we've ever stayed. All in a tiny house! The mood was warm and cozy from the minute we stepped in the door, with some great jazz playing and the faux fireplace on for ambience. Jen really knows how to set the stage! The river on the property is stunning. One of our only regrets is not leaving time enough in our schedule to sit beside it and really enjoy the views. The bed was cozy, kitchen worked really well, the bathroom was great. Jen greeted us with some lovely welcome gifts including homemade chocolate chip cookies and a hand-written note, and communicated really well with us. I just can't recommend this place highly enough, whether you're looking for a getaway or a jumping-off point for exploring the Kennebunkport area. The River Rose Cottage easily earns a 5-star review.

Beautifully perfect cottage

The cottage was beyond expectations! It was perfect in every way. Jen and Bill have created a perfect getaway for any occasion. We were there to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary and they made it memorable. The atmosphere was perfect from the moment we walked in from Frank Sinatra playing in the background, fresh baked cookies, wine in the fridge and a bathrobe and slippers for us to enjoy! They had every detail covered! We would highly recommend staying at the River Rose Cottage!

Wonderful Stay

Take a sunset cruise, a whale watch or a lobster boat tour, visit the Seashore Trolley Museum, eat a lobster roll (or two), see a show at Vinegar Hill Music Theatre, shop in Dock Square, take a drive down Ocean Avenue for sweeping ocean views and a peek at Walker's Point, relax on Mother's Beach, or dine al fresco. The list goes on! River Rose Cottage is a short walk to downtown Kennebunk where you'll find a bakery, restaurants, coffee shop, wine shop, and more! Drive about 40 minutes north and enjoy all of what Portland offers! Portland Head Light, top rated restaurants, craft breweries, museums, and concerts await.
