Newly renovated lower level in the heart of Preston. 2 bedrooms, living area with private entrance.TV/Netflix. Fridge, microwave,coffee pot and toaster. Garage for bikes, snowmobiles!

Perfect for wedding guests,&concert goers. So much to see and do in SE Minnesota! Biking,Fishing,Hiking and Golf. Lanesboro is 6 miles away. Across the street from Branding Iron Supper Club. Feel free to use garage space for bikes as well. Forestville State Park 15 mn away!Perfect for snowmobiling with a heated garage you are welcome to use. I really try to be accommodating, so message me with any last minute reservations and I will see if Ican make it work!

This location was great and very accommodating. We brought our family for a weekend away, and the host was kind, communicative, and provided nice touches. We would absolutely stay again, if provided the opportunity.

The garage is locked, but no lock from the garage to the main room, which is probably fine most of the time, but felt a bit uncomfortable. Clean, friendly host, no kitchen amenities

The location was very central to the areas we wanted to visit. The vacation apartment was well appointed and suited our needs perfectly. My friend and I would highly recommend the Root River Retreat.

Perfect for Bicyclists

Clean, comfortable (great mattresses/pillows), safe, 2 bedroom, garage. Close to Root River beautiful paved bicycle/hiking trail and good restaurants/shops.

Very cute place

Very cute and very clean place to stay. The beds were very comfortable and so were the pillows. No need to bring your own pillows. There is no oven, but we brought food that we could just microwave. We brought a cooler for our beverages as the refrigerator is smaller which worked out just fine.

Perfect location to explore the area

Lori is a wonderful host - the property is just as described and extremely clean. The 2 bedrooms are beautiful with plenty of natural light. The main area has all you need for a long weekend - a couch, 2 comfortable chairs, high top table, sizeable fridge/freezer, breakfast bar area, ginormous TV...all very comfortable! There is garage space to store bikes, if you are in the area for cycling. The home is located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to all the surrounding communities. Lori also provides a delicious treat and a kind note upon arrival. Lori I wish you great success with your VRBO, you truly are a 5 star host! Thank you for providing this space for us to use for a long weekend.

Thoughtful Extras- Loved Every Minute

Everything promised is there, but there are also some surprises, little thoughtful things, like a laptop "desk" in the nightstand so that you can work sitting up in bed; coffee and cereals; and a desk drawer with pens and scissors and other things you might need. And the dorm style refrigerator had a pretty good sized freezer. I could put in my 1.5 gallon ice cream container, and a frozen hot dish container. And a tip - empty the ice tray into a bowl, set it in the freezer, and refill the tray so that you will have ice at the ready. Lori was there for anything I might need. I'm going back again soon!

Short but Sweet Stay

The perfect little place for a quick friends getaway. Four of us stayed to celebrate a friend's birthday. (Two gals per room.) We brought bikes and biked down to the Preston Trailhead and then on to Lanesboro. We had a gorgeous bike ride and had a fun day in Lanesboro. Preston is not far and has plenty of amenities. The space itself is cute and clean and the host is lovely and responsive. Great experience overall!

Clean and cozy

We really liked the location and quietness of this rental. Lori gives nice attention to detail, even welcome cookies and cold water in the fridge! We could easily jump on the bike path across town. Also not too far from trout fishing streams. We would stay again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Root River Retreat and would stay here again! Easy check-in and check-out process. The space was clean, cozy and contained everything we needed for a short stay to enjoy golf and biking. Beds and furnishings were very comfortable. Towels and bedding were soft and new. Host was a gem, providing bike storage and parking space. She answered our questions very quickly and provided delicious cookies to enjoy upon our arrival. Safe, quiet neighborhood with easy access to state bike trail and very close to golf courses and local restaurants.

Long Family Weekend

The neighborhood was quiet and great location to visit the many attractions in the area. We went to Lanesboro & Mystery Cave, and this was the perfect middle location. We ate lunch at B&B Bowling and it was great! Highly recommend it.

Driftless Area Motorcycle Visit

This VRBO was a wonderful retreat while we where in the area motorcycling. Our host, Lori, even allowed us to park our motorcycles in the garage to protect them overnight from the weather. We would certainly stay with Lori again.
