Great little cabin!

What a great little cabin and perfect for one person. Excellent condition. Very clean. Very quiet and secluded but easy to get to. Dennis was a great host!

Comfortable little cabin above a river with most modern comforts. The host, Dennis, is a pleasure to chat with and does whatever he can to help you enjoy your stay.

Anniversary get away

The cabin is beautiful. Location is perfect. A lot to do. Enjoyed cooking outside. Enjoyed our walks, hikes and fishing near by and on the property.

The scenery is beautiful. The cabin is essentially in the hosts yard so you aren’t really secluded. The cabin itself has the basics and a few niceties. Having the mini split, WiFi, and TV are nice and made the stay more comfortable. The composting toilet was a little odd to get used to and there was some crusted poo from a previous guest on the flap. The only other criticism I would have is maybe add to check the drip tray on the coffee maker. It was full and had mold floating so I had to clean it before use. If someone wants a basic cabin for a hunting or fishing trip like mine this place is a great option.

Cozy Cabin

The cabin is very near a wooded area. It is nice and quiet. Only 15 minutes to anything you may want. The owner kindly explained how to use things in the cabin. The bed is comfortable. The historic town of Jonesborough is 20 minutes away. There are many historic excursions I would like to take. I will stay longer next time.

Neat little nook

Property owners very kind and willing to go out of there way to help the tenants. We only had one vehicle and wanted to kayak. That means no way back! Dennis was willing to make that run for us and actually offered to join us. Super great people. Cabin was near the water but slightly elevated and most of the view covered by trees. There is creek and river access from the property but not for the faint of heart. David crocket birth place park is just a couple miles away and worth the few minutes to get there. Gas is cheaper here too!! Great visit, thanks for the stay. If I was to improve on something, it would probably be the mattress.

Thank you for your honest and informative review. You were first guests to actually utilize the water access and bring your own kayaks! The ideal arrangement would be to launch from the boat ramp at the David Crockett Birthplace State Park and float down river to the take out spot below the cabin which could take from 1-3 hours depending on conditions. It is a beautiful trip on free flowing river with sheer cliffs on one side and mountains on the other. There are also small islands in the river to explore. Pack a lunch and spend the day. Will consider your suggestions for upgrades and perhaps even supply kayaks and regular shuttle service for a fee:) Thank you for choosing to stay with us!
