The location was great! You can walk to the shops nearby and the ocean to watch the sunset. It’s a short drive to the Poipu Athletic Club, Poipu Beach, and old town Kōloa. The listing was just as described. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to use the lanais as we were there during the “Kona Low 2.0” storm. As the weather cleared up we were able to use some of the beach equipment and have a great time. Would definitely stay again!

25th Anniversary Trip
Property was beautiful with lush gardens everywhere. Condo itself was comfortable clean and well stocked with cookware, beach chairs, boogie boards etc. We had a fun memorable visit and would definitely recommend Kōloa Kai 503 to friends!

The perfect trip
WS503 is set in a lush environment; the condo grounds are perfect. The parking lot sits under a lush tree canopy. My wife loved walking the grounds. The koi fish in the stream added a sense of luxury. The condo was comfortable and the perfect size for my wife and me.

Location, Location, Location
The property is in a great spot; my wife and I enjoyed being able to walk to the nearby beaches, food and shopping. Check in and communications with the property manager were smooth. We appreciated the summary of local suggestions! As some have noted, it is a bit dated but the price reflects this and it was still comfortable and had everything we needed. Beach chairs and umbrella were a huge bonus.

Great homebase to explore Kauai
We had a great stay in this comfortable apartment. Good breeze blows through when the glass sliding doors are open front and back. A good well-stocked Kitchen was perfect for cooking our meals. Allerton gardens and Sprouting horn are a ten minute drive away. The grounds are planted with lovely tropical plants and the morning wake up call by the roosters is a great way to start the day.

Great for couples
My husband and I enjoyed this villa. The location was great, there was plenty of space to give a homey feel, and the on-site pool was enjoyable. We knew before that there was no A/C, but there were several fans available and the windows/screen doors helped. It was still pretty warm, but we understand that adding A/C can be difficult and expensive. We’re maybe overly sensitive about heat. Communication with property management was great. Overall, we recommend this unit.

Tropical setting
We have vacationed in Poipu many times and like to try different places to stay. This property is ideal for two people. Everything was very comfortable and updated. We enjoyed that it had a semi secluded sitting space by the entrance and a very nice patio with lots of vegetation. If you are looking for an ocean view this is not the place for you. We always enjoy having access to the Poipu Fitness Center. It is upscale and has great facilities. Lots of shopping within walking distance. We recommend this property for a comfortable stay.

Recovery
The unit was quiet and private location. My husband has been undergoing cancer treatments so the ground location was good with no stairs. We were disappointed there was no hot tub on site but made use of the one at PBAC. Unfortunately, the hot tub there was out of order for several days which was why we would go there. The unit was cleaned well but the carpet looks worn and stained. We really appreciated the washer and dryer in the unit.

Disappointing!
We were very disappointed overall. This unit was not clean!! The carpets were dirty and stained. The bed mattress and pillows need replacement. We prefer a firm mattress. Bathtub and shower curtain were moldy. It is a very dark unit and needed lights on during the day. Kitchen had limited dishes, mugs, cutlery. Stove elements were bent and difficult to cook on.
Location in Poipu was good with easy access to beach and restaurants. Enjoyed having access to the Poipu Athletic Club.

Great location & value, but could be cleaner
Want to start by highlighting the positives:
-awesome location, close drive to great beaches, fantastic food trucks, and good shopping
-very easy self check-in/check-out process and good communication from the host
-great local recommendations on excursions, local food, and more
-unit included beach chairs, towels, cooler, etc which were very helpful to have
The negatives:
-the unit overall felt tired/dated (old furniture, old wall-to-wall carpet, kitchen, etc) and had somewhat dingy and stained area rugs covering most of the living room and dining areas which were not shown in the listing pictures
-the back slider door does not lock (this is a ground floor unit accessible from the walking paths). We definitely felt safe, but worth noting nonetheless.
-we saw a handful of cockroaches (both dead and alive) in the unit during our stay
-unit generally could have been cleaner, for example there were a few dead bugs on the night stands when we checked in

Misleading advertising
The photos in the advertisement are significantly misleading. The condo is very dark and the back patio area is dark and people walk by. When we first arrived we smelled a very strong odor of mildew/dampness and the carpet and couch felt damp. Bedroom windows are just wooden slats so there is very little sound proofing, and if you want any natural light you have to also have the air/noise come in. Bathroom fan goes on when you walk in and shuts off randomly and you can’t turn it on manually when showering or doing laundry. Kitchen is well stocked but no coffee provided as advertised. Some of the bowls were stuck together and when we got them apart found food residue was the cause. Cobwebs in corners of bedroom and other areas. Stained carpet. Mildew in shower. Pool and jacuzzi were not maintained.
