The town of Essex, centrally located in the county of Essex, is a 20 minute drive to wineries, the city of Windsor, the riverfront, Lake Erie, Lake St. Clair, Point Pelee National Park and much more. The Greenway Bike Trail can be accessed from the residence. Essex is known for being a family-friendly community in one of the safest towns in Canada. Come experience Essex for yourself.

The property was located close to the location our employees where working so it was perfect. They only needed a place to sleep so it was perfect. Only found the added cleaning fee was a little bit much

Wonderful location and close to fun children activities like the Essex street fair and Colasanti’s gardens. Nice restaurants, meat market and shopping within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a great time staying at the Essex House. We loved our time there. It was such a quiet place, but close enough to walk around the town of Essex. The house had plenty of room for our large family, and our kids often remarked that it felt like we were staying in a mansion!

Lovely century home with plenty of space. We held a family reunion there with 11 adults. The home is well equipped and we cooked most of our meals there, including a Thanksgiving dinner. Dean was a responsive and helpful host. This home met our needs perfectly.

Everything was awesome! Dean was so communicative with our group and the house was absolutely perfect! Beds were so comfy and lots of room for the kids and parents of our group to have their own space. If you need a lovely place in Essex that is super clean, beautiful and well equipped this is the place to stay. Nothing was needed or forgotten about from dishwasher tabs, coffee to board games. Thanks so much for the great stay!

The property has all the amenities you need. The layout is different, however, works for nearly every scenario. The basement has a fully functioning washer / dryer, a private room one of us took a business call from, a living room with 2 separate TVs and couches, as well as a bathroom with a huge shower.The main level has a "mud room" with a fridge, fully stocked kitchen with table/chairs, power room, sitting room, and living room with TV.There are 2 different stair cases to the upper level, which has 3 full bedrooms with one shared washroom and an ensuite in the master bedroom. The shared bathroom has a shower, however the master ensuite only has a bathtub.The bonus loft has 6 single beds and a double bed. There is more than enough space to comfortably sleep 12 people.There are single unit ACs in the bedrooms and multiple in the loft so sleeping was comfortable despite not having an AC unit integrated with the furnace. The house is stocked with everything you need from kitchen supplies to bathroom supplies to bedroom supplies. Dean, the host, provided all required information up front for check-in and provided information we found useful during our stay. Dean was also responsive to inquiries about locating items.We will certainly stay at the Essex House again and have already recommended it to family and friends.

Lovely house and property and a most accommodating host. Stayed during a very hot period, and air conditioning in other than the primary bedroom could have been cooler. Otherwise great.

Glad you all enjoyed your trip. Yes, I realize that the built-in AC units cannot handle the extreme heat. I have now installed a window AC in 2nd and 3rd bedroom along with another in the loft.

Excellent stay

We highly recommend this house. It was very well equipped and clean. We enjoyed all of our meals in the lovely backyard. It was perfect for our family of 12. ( 8 adults and 4 kids) the bed in the master bedroom was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! We would return in a heartbeat.

Family Trip

We loved this property! We were a group of adults and teenagers. There was lots of space to play games, visit, watch movies and cook. The host thought of everything- lots of towels, soap, Kleenex and necessities for laundry. The outside space was small but lovely and we enjoyed sitting out on the Adirondack chairs. We had an amazing experience and would definitely visit again!

This place has it all! - A real gem!

This grand home has it all - space, comfort and character. We enjoyed a weekend in The Essex House while in town for a family function and left knowing we'd be back. Our host, Dean, was wonderful to work with and was available at all times throughout the process. The home was well appointed, clean and extremely comfortable. The linens were spotless and in abundance. What a special time it was to enjoy the character of this home with our grandchildren and extended family. The outdoor garden was lovely to sit in and the neighborhood was quiet and easily walkable to the main street for shopping and dining. We highly recommend this gem when visiting the Essex area.
