¡Deje el (los) auto (s) en el camino de entrada! Nuestro apartamento de alquiler, llamado con cariño Capt Smith, se encuentra en el primer piso de una casa victoriana bellamente restaurada, a poca distancia a pie del corazón de Camden, con sus restaurantes, tiendas, teatro de ópera, biblioteca, playa y todo lo que el pintoresco Camden Harbor tiene para oferta. Te encantará la comodidad de vivir en un solo nivel, la ubicación de la propiedad en la ciudad, así como el alojamiento acogedor, cómodo y limpio con todo lo que necesitas.

Hay tres habitaciones, todas con camas queen size. Una habitación tiene un baño completo en suite. Las otras dos habitaciones comparten un baño con ducha. Cocina comedor totalmente equipada y espaciosa sala de estar que conduce a un elegante porche que cuenta con mesa, sillas y parrilla de gas. Hay una sala de lavandería compartida y se proporcionan suministros básicos de lavandería. Este apartamento está disponible en un alquiler semanal mínimo de 6 noches (de sábado a sábado durante los meses de verano) o mensualmente, durante todo el año. Wonderful stay over the Christmas holidays at this lovely home. The space is really beautiful. Beds were comfortable, and we loved the gas fireplace. The owners had decked the house with lovely Christmas decorations, and were very easy to communicate with. Location is great too. Easy walking distance to the center of town, but far enough away to be quiet. Thank you Jen for a lovely experience! (We did not ski, but VRBO is making me enter a value for skiing in order to submit this review.)

Beautiful house

The house is an easy walk from town, has a well-equipped kitchen for preparing meals, and a nice covered porch to sit on with your coffee and greet the day. We had a lovely time!

Great Location and Space

Thoughtfully decorated and well-stocked, very pleasant and clean, a great location for walking to shops and harbor. Friendly, accessible hosts but also plenty of privacy and space. Nice porch for any time of day. We're hoping to return!

Fall in Maine

The four of us had a great stay in Camden. We could walk into town and the harbor anytime, or go exploring up and down the coast. The first floor apartment is roomy, very clean and very comfortable. We loved seeing the chickens in the backyard.

Charming house

My family has stayed in this house for two years, and we've found it to be a great play to vacation. I love walking into town in the early morning to get a bagel and NYT. My daughter loves taking her little boy to the children's room at the library.

Plenty of space and walkable to downtown

We very much enjoyed our stay! The unit was spacious and nicely furnished. The kitchen was well stocked with with dining/cooking implements. The only thing we were missing was an oyster knife, which we gifted the house upon leaving! The location was an easy walk to everything in downtown Camden. We would definitely consider staying there again.

Best choice in Camden

Completely restored Victorian home with everything a traveler needs. Hosts are easily accessible but discreet. Easy walk to downtown. No need to drive. Great jumping off point for day trips. Kitchen has everything as does the laundry. This was a great introduction to Maine!

This house was perfect for our girls getaway. The location is great, a few steps away from restaurants and boutiques and 2miles from the local beach. The house is very clean and you will find everything you need. Maria is a great host and I recommend her place without any doubts.

Camden meet up

Our experience in Camden was wonderful Jen and Eric were excellent hosts. The space was very clean, warm and comfortable. We had access to all the amenities and our hosts answered all of our requests . Would love to return next year.

Wonderful

Our stay was just lovely, beautiful Victorian home that is spotless and comfortable. All we needed was provided, the location was as advertised as a 5-7 min walk to downtown, which was so much better than driving down and trying to find a place to park. The July 4th week was the perfect week to be there, weather was great. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Outstanding Accommodations

The Captain Smith apartment is ideally located for visiting Camden and other Maine seacoast locations. The walk into town is about 2 blocks yet the house is well away from the fray. The apartment was spotlessly clean and fully supplied with everything you might need during your stay. We have already booked this accommodation for next year.

We very much liked our home vacation rental. I sat in the living room in the morning with the sun coming through the stained glass windows. The whole house was really nice. We enjoyed walking to town and exploring the area. We would love to go back again. It was wonderful. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful Apartment in Camden, Maine

Captain Smith’s is one of the nicest rentals I’ve stayed in. The apartment was spotless, spacious, and super comfortable! Jen thought of every little detail- down to the bowl of mini peppermint patties in the living room! She even set up a Christmas tree for us! We loved sitting in front of the cozy fireplace, reading our books or watching tv, and appreciated the well-equipped farmhouse kitchen, easy parking, and short 5-minute walk to downtown Camden. Jen & Eric were warm and welcoming and super responsive to our needs. I hope I get the chance to stay at Captain Smith again.

Beautiful and authentic Victorian home. Original stained glass windows, woodwork and details. Meticulously clean and cared for. Beds are so comfy. Completely stocked kitchen and bath. Living room has great seating, fireplace and flat screen tv. Wifi, books and games too. Personable hosts are on site and cared for us like family. Ask about the pet friendly apartment. We will book again and again. The Captain Taylor House is like staying at your favorite Grammie's with all the modern touches and steps away from town.

Camden Maine in July!

We enjoyed and awesome week in Camden Maine in this lovely rental. Wonderful location away from the crowds and close enough to everything. That includes Mt Battie, Camden Harbor and Sailing on a Schooner, Camden Library and Amphitheater, and great events, and Lake Megunticook for when we wanted a fresh water swim! This place was comfortable, well maintained, and stocked to the gills with everything we desired. That included the Lobster Pot and the best place to get our lobsters for steaming and eating on the great front porch. There is no lack of things to do, or do nothing but relax on the porch in the rocking chair. Would recommend and will definitely come back for more.

Great Experience

We had a wonderful time during our 3 week stay at Captain Smith in July 2022. The property description is absolutely accurate. Having enjoyed Camden during one day visits on previous trips to Maine we were very diligent in searching VRBO for a place convenient to downtown and all it offers (a very short walk away) as well as a place we could relax and plan our day tips exploring the Mid Coast area. Breakfasts on the porch were perfect for that. Also used the grill on the porch for several meals reflecting on the day. Captain Smith was a great choice. Jen and Erik were wonderful hosts; timely answering what few inquiries we had.

Absolutely Wonderful!

This is hands down, the best place my family has ever stayed! The house is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for a family. It is equipped with everything you could possibly need. By far, the most well equipped rental home we've ever stayed in. The street the house is on basically turns into Main St. through downtown Camden just a short distance from the house. My kids walked it easily a few times a day. Downtown Camden is an absolute gem. It has all the charm of a resort town without the cheesiness. There is so much to do in town, we didn't even accomplish everything in a week! Thank you so much for your hospitality and we can't wait to come back! Hopefully soon!

Short Walk to Camden

You will LOVE this home! A charming old victorian, but updated with modern amenities. It's roomy and was perfect for our family with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Jenn, the owner has stocked the kitchen with everything you will need! Jenn and her husband are lovely people and live upstairs in the home. They have put together the most thorough and informational guest book that I've ever seen in a rental, including best beaches, top things to see while visiting, what to do on a rainy day, and other things. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and walking into Camden (about a 5 minute walk) for breakfast, lunch, or shopping. This house is immaculate. You will not be disappointed! We will be staying here again. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!

My husband, Erik, and I, moved to Camden from Florida in 2016. Immediately, we fell in love with Camden and the beautiful surrounding area, so much so that we decided to make the life-changing decision to relocate our family here. Erik retired from the US Air Force, so the move here really has been a lifestyle change as well as a life-changing one. I am British and Camden really offers a home-from-home "English" feel. The history of our house is an interesting one - the previous owners bought the house in 1996. It had been empty and neglected for the previous three years before that. Our whole home, which we call 'Capt Taylor', had been originally built by a sea captain in 1903 and it has now been lovingly restored into a beautiful family home. 'Capt Smith' is the name given to our vacation rental apartment.

The proximity to town and its amenities was one of the major reasons for choosing to buy this house. Camden is a bustling little town with lots of things going on all year. We want our home to feel like your home while you're here.

This a 'home-away-from-home' place to stay!
You'll love a leisurely walk to the harbor for breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of Camden's many fine restaurants, a sunset cruise on a schooner and afterwards relaxing on your front porch with a glass of wine. For those looking for a more energetic vacation, we have Mt Battie on our doorstep with great hiking trails. And not having to drive and find somewhere to park is truly a great benefit.
