Experience the beauty and adventure of St. Thomas in a historic home situated on the 4th highest mountain on the island with a rare 360º panoramic view. Wake up to the stunning views of the Atlantic to the north and the Caribbean to the south. This house is a botanical retreat, surrounded by terraced tropical gardens, and is perfectly placed to take advantage of the cooling trade winds. Only a 20 min drive from towns and beaches, the altitude offers a breezy peace that takes you to another world
The space
Built by master craftsmen in the mid-twentieth century, this gated property features elegant details like hand-carved molding and an ornate fireplace while also offering modern comforts. During your stay, the entire house is available for your use. Take in the stunning view of Charlotte Amalie and watch the sunset on the south terrace, or relax with your morning coffee while gazing at the Inner and Outer Brass Islands on the north terrace. The house offers a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room. Enjoy your meals in the living room with a view to the south, or in the north terrace. There are 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms which are suitable for up to eight people. We also provide beach chairs, towels, and coolers for your island adventures.

The house is a four-generation home which features a terraced tropical garden designed by Martin and Andre Viette, the past and present owners of the house. We invite you to enjoy the beautiful gardens.

Due to its ideal mountain top location, the house takes advantage of the cooling trade winds, which offer a constant island breeze allowing the house to maintain a comfortable temperature without relying on the installed air conditioning units (each bedroom has its own AC unit).

We strongly suggest that you rent a vehicle with high clearance to get to the house’s mountain location and take advantage of the island. We also urge you to purchase a travel insurance policy in case of a weather disaster.

Additional notes: Beach towels, beach chairs and a cooler are provided but beach blankets, umbrellas and snorkeling gear are not provided. No BBQ grill at the property. Pets are not allowed.

You will be the only people residing in the property and will have access to the entire house, storage , garage and tool sheds excluded.
Also note that groundskeeper will show up once or twice a week to water the plants and trim the bushes around the walking paths. He has been working for the owners for many many years. He does not go inside the property.
Other things to note
As of February 5th 2021, all bedrooms have air conditioning.
Note that due to the elevation (1100 feet), the house enjoys cool breezes at night, specially during the winter months when temperature can drop in the sixties.
We also offer provisioning to the guests if they opt for this. A week before your arrival let us know what foods and beverages you would like at the house upon your arrival to make it as pleasurable as possible. We'll let you know the cost upfront and you can pay us before your arrival.

As of September 9th, an automatic backup generator is now operational. The power company sporadic outages will no longer be an inconvenience to the guests!!!
