El secreto mejor guardado de Sayulita.
Villa Karuna es una hermosa y romántica casa de dos pisos de 3000 pies cuadrados y ha sido hecha a mano en todo. La atención al detalle es evidente en los trabajos de mármol, ónice, granito y azulejos en la cocina y los baños, así como en las obras de arte, las estatuas y los hermosos jardines circundantes. Ubicada en una de las últimas selvas tropicales que quedan junto al mar en México, Villa Karuna se encuentra en lo alto de una cresta de la selva con vista al Océano Pacífico. La hermosa vista expansiva incluye magníficas puestas de sol sobre el mar, así como una oportunidad continua de observación de aves.

Villa Karuna fue diseñada para aumentar su conexión con la naturaleza al traer el exterior al interior. Todo el lado del océano de la casa utiliza puertas de vidrio con marco de madera local de doble pliegue como paredes para que pueda disfrutar al aire libre o cerrarlas y aún así ver la magnífica vista del océano y las puestas de sol. Aunque la suave brisa mantiene las habitaciones frescas, el aire acondicionado está disponible en cada una de las suites.

This was our second time staying at Villa Karuna. It is beautiful! The house itself is really nice and tastefully done with beautiful design and decor. The grounds and beach are stunning. The house is a quick taxi from town, but feels so excluded and quiet, except for the jungle sounds and birds which we love! Eric, the property manager is awesome and his kitties, Max and Sweet Pea are super sweet. This is definitely one of favorite vacation rentals ever, and we will be back!!

Beautiful Villa Karuna

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautiful property. The grounds were lush, and meticulously maintained. The villa has the most amazing views with doors that open up all along the front of the house to let in the wonderful breeze. The interior decorating was very tasteful and comfortable furnishings, plenty of room for everyone.Overall, we loved the property. The owners were very gracious and helpful to us, and responsive to any questions we might have had.I would recommend to anyone looking for an exceptional stay in Sayulita away from the noise and hustle bustle of town. Close enough, but enough out of town to be restful and relaxing.

Another Amazing Stay

This was my second time staying here and it was just as amazing as the first time. Fully stocked kitchen, unbelievable star gazing, comfortable bedrooms, and fully stocked kitchen. My friends loved it and we are planning another trip so we can stay here again. Great location and amazing hosts!

Spring Break Vacation

Excellent place to stay, away from the noise in town. Nice hike to beach below. We used a/c at night. Rent a golf cart or ATV from Kaliva Rentals. Host Eric was very helpful. Will stay here again!

Wow, wow, wow! What a fantastic house. Easy to visit the town of Sayulita, but when you’re home it’s private oasis. I highly recommend having a chef come in to cook dinner and fully enjoy the sunset.

Exceeded our expectations. Beautiful grounds, spacious and wonderful property, very private, great manager, pool was great. We could watch tropical birds in the Jungle and Wales jumping in the ocean from the deck. The best view to have coffee in the morning! Would definitely recommend Villa Karuna!

This property was off the beaten path enough to feel like a private luxury vacation but close enough to town for all the modern conveniences. View was breathtaking. House was perfectly positioned on the bluff with 180 degree open air view. We hired a private chef for the week and really could not imagine a more relaxing vacation.

Magical oasis

This home and its grounds are a work of art, with the ocean view its central focus. We had a marvelous week, drinking in that view and enjoying living outdoors and indoors simultaneously, surrounded by the stunning garden, the delicious and lovely pool, birds and wildlife. Quinn has given thoughtful and thorough guidance for enjoying the nearby beaches and restaurants. Eric, our property manager, was so helpful. Wow, what a fabulous week.

Magnificent. If you like stunning architecture, beautiful furnishings, serenity, quietude, lazy days in a pool, and sheer relaxation, then this is the place for you. Renting a motorized side-by-side gave us all the flexibility we needed to enjoy our location out of town, but just close enough. Adding Maria as our in-home chef only added to the overall experience. We definitely hope to return to make more wonderful memories of life in the jungle. Not to be forgotten is the soothing early morning melody of the chachalaka bird.

Amazing vacation home!

Loved everything about our 9 day trip we took with another couple. The house is gorgeous, even better than the pics! Loved our daily walks through the jungle on back roads and trails into town. Can be hilly but I enjoyed the challenge. Eric was super responsive to anything and everything we asked. Very chill vibe in Sayulita. We will be back! Best VRBO home I’ve ever rented and I’ve rented a few! Thank you for letting us share in your piece of paradise 🤗

Your own private resort in the jungle!

This home is absolute PERFECTION. It is insanely gorgeous down to every last detail. The owners put a lot of thought into the entire property, the views, and the decor. It feels like a secluded retreat in the jungle that is only 20 min away from the town or the beach. Highly recommend to rent a golf cart to easily get to and from the town as it is tucked away in the jungle. The sounds you hear from the jungle will amaze you! It's so serene and relaxing in every single room. The view is honestly the best I have EVER seen from sunrise to sunset. It's the perfect home for two couples or a family. The living & dining room is perfect for entertaining and hosting a dinner. We had an amazing time and would book again in an instant! This house made our vacation a truly special one.

Paradise!

Villa Karuna is a very special place. The house and the grounds surrounding it are truly amazing. Everything is impeccably maintained. The house completely opens up to breathtaking views of the ocean. It is also very well appointed with all the extras you would ever need to enjoy the kitchen, the pool, the beach, and the magnificent daily sunsets. While Villa Karuna is peaceful and relaxing, when you are ready for a more lively scene, Sayulita is a very short ride away. We also adventured out to multiple other towns and beaches all within a 15 to 20 minute drive. Lastly I can’t say enough about the owners and property manager. We could tell they sincerely wanted us to enjoy the property. The owner’s were very attentive and super helpful with all the guidance and suggestions regarding the property and surrounding areas. The property manager lives in a bungalow on the 7 acre gated property. His presence made us feel additionally safe and he was likewise very helpful during our stay, I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend to everyone looking for a first class experience to make a visit.

Exceptional property and hosts

Our first time in Mexico, and also we had our whole family in tow - this property was a huge highlight. We didn’t know what to expect, but everything far exceeded expectations. Quinn and Lesley’s home is beautifully appointed, and waking up to the calls of birds with full-length windows open to a view of the Pacific a mile away was an experience we won’t soon forget. Sunsets are a highlight too, easy to experience with sea-facing glass and wood doors both downstairs and upstairs. It’s a house that’s meant to be open. There’s a jungle trail leading down to the beach past bamboo and palm - and plenty of access to other beaches if you rent an ATV or bikes in Sayulita. Easy to get back and forth if you’re active, but also plenty of reason to just relax in the home. Their on-site dipping pool was welcome. Our hosts provided lots of input regarding things to do, as did their property manager who was always available. One night we coordinated a local chef through the property manager - an outstanding meal. Can’t say enough positive about this place, and our friendly and engaged hosts.

What a wonderful place

Our stay the first week of January could not have been better. The property and amenities met and exceeded our expectations. Location is just close enough to town to remain convenient (10 minute golf cart ride) and just far enough to escape the crowds. The grounds are immaculately landscaped and maintained. The home is well appointed with all the conveniences needed, and beautifully decorated. Small touches like fresh cut flowers throughout the house from the property grounds were a pleasant touch. The property owners provided an extensive amount of information prior to our arrival, not only of the property but also tips on transportation, beaches and other local amenities. The property manager, Eric was very helpful and responsive to any needs that arose. We felt safe, secure and extremely relaxed as we lounged on the back patio and watched humpback whales in the bay (bring your binoculars!) and fell asleep each night to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach below. We never turned on the air conditioner in the bedrooms, and never had issues with bugs or the family of coati that visited the pool area each night. Thank you for the outstanding hospitality. We will be back!

Beautiful, peaceful home!

This is a really beautiful home and property! We appreciated the tasteful decoration and the wonderful design and architectural details. We really didn’t want to leave the house and go anywhere! I have high standards for ambiance and this house actually exceeded my expectations! We loved the walk through the jungle to a beautiful, private beach - kind of a rare find for sure! The property itself is a tropical oasis with gorgeous sunset views. The star gazing at night from the patio and pool area was magical! Everything about Villa Karuna is magical! The kitchen was very nice and well stocked. We cooked dinner there 3 nights and found everything we needed for an elegant sunset dinner party! The location is perfect - you can walk to town in 20 minutes if you want, but the road is a bit dusty so we often called Sayulita Taxi and they were always there in 10 minutes for a 5 minute ride to town . It was easier than driving and finding parking or walking. Eric, the on-site property manager, was super nice - he was there for whatever we needed but we had complete privacy (he had a separate bungalow on the property a ways from the main house). I would recommend this house without hesitation and am hoping we can stay here next year when we visit Sayulita! This is not just a vacation rental - it is a magical experience!

Beautiful getaway in the jungle with spectacular Ocean views

Honestly, we were a bit worried about the critters that would be running around, but they really weren't too much of a bother. The tropical jungle walk to the semi-private beach was incredible, with overarching green bamboo, red wood trees, and wild flowers everywhere. We often saw whales in the ocean and the beach is incredibly quiet. It was a relaxing, tranquil vacation... We rented an SUV for the week, which I highly recommend. We were able to head out for several adventures- visiting Punta de Mita, shopping at the marina in Vallarta and even hitting the beaches/malecon in PV one day. The kitchen has a gas stove and all the cookware. I love cooking, so it was actually a lot of fun for a group of 4. There are only 2 beds and 2 bedrooms in the main house, but the owners were able to accommodate us with an extra mattress. The property manager was friendly and helpful. You should note that parking is not the greatest in Sayulita, but you can walk or take a cab. The nightlife in town is incredible. The pool water was a bit cold, but as the days got sunnier, it became more tolerable. You are not allowed to flush toilet paper in the bathroom, which will take some getting used to. Makes for a lot of laughs though and lots of areas to lounge throughout the day. Huge patios, with French doors on every ocean facing wall. Rustic contemporary was the feel, which is the best style in my opinion... Maids come by mid week for a clean and they do provide shower towels, beach towels and simple amenities like hand soap. There were paper towels in the kitchen, spices, oils, ice in the freezer, gallons of bottled water for drinking, and an unbelievable selection of teas. It was amazing. The property would actually make for a great retreat vacation or maybe even a romantic honeymoon. You can arrange a chef if you don't like to cook or even have a massage at the house. We ended up with just the right mix of adventure and relaxation. I would visit again for sure!!

Like a dream!

Our stay at villa Karuna will forever be etched in my mind as one of our family's best vacations ever. I am not even sure where to begin. Turning off the main road onto the little dirt road, calle palapa, we already knew this was a special location set just outside Sayulita. Pulling up to the house and stepping out of our ride we were all just about speechless. The house, the view, the gardens and singing birds was incredible and peaceful. We arrived mid afternoon and got the full and expansive views right away. The house itself is nothing short of pure splendor. It is clear to see that so much thought and architecture was put into designing this house to please every sense possible. We kept calling the view a billion dollar view! We stayed for 10 days and not one day passed where we were not in absolute awe. Nothing can really compare to living atop the jungle canopy and expansive ocean views! My wife and I came here with our 21 month old son, her folks and another couple who stayed in the casita. We did rent a car (from the property manager) which proved to be really useful for quick town runs for supplies or adventurous day trips to beaches. We cooked plenty as the kitchen was incredibly stocked with top notch cooking equipment. Although we love strolling through town, immersing in local culture and cuisine, we spent a large amount of our time at villa Karuna just chillin' and taking it all in. It was truly that spectacular there. We loved watching whales from the balcony with binoculars and even got out on a boat one day and up close too. There is a nice jungle trail to a secluded beach just 15 minutes from the steps of the villa's pool. (bring comfy walking shoes or hiking shoes for the trail) Our son learned so much about the different animals around, their sounds and names both in English and Spanish. The pool is also a great touch with a ledge to sit on all the way around and with an infinity edge and waterfall. We spent lots of time playing there. In the morning when we awoke, we sat up and from our bed and gazed out at the sea over the jungle and life was super fine! We could not be more thankful to have the opportunity and memories of this truly awesome castle in the jungle. We are grateful to the owners for sharing their dream home with our family. One day when I build my dream home, I will remember villa Karuna as a major inspiration. FIVE STAR all the way! I hope to return again someday. Muchos Gracias!!

Beautiful tranquil retreat

We loved our time a Villa Kruna. We spent mornings over coffee on the deck, afternoons at the beach or in town and sunsets in the pool. Heaven! The house had everything we needed and Erick was very helpful. The villa is so well thought out. The layout worked perfectly for our group of parents, grandparents and a 13 year old. The attention to detail is amazing and creates a delightful atmosphere. Thanks for making such a beautiful place available for our family to enjoy.

Perfect Mexico Getawy

After always staying in the town of Sayulita, this is the first time we stayed on the outskirts near Playa Patzcuaritos. The property blew us away with its thoughtful design that maximized the view of the ocean and jungle. It was very well equipped and super comfortable and peaceful. The gorgeous beach was a short walk away and was virtually empty. Eric, the property manager, was so helpful and responsive too. We are planning on going back again next year for sure.

The definition of "oasis!"

We loved Villa Karuna. What a gorgeous and tranquil spot! The setting and views are unmatched. We adored being able to open all the accordion doors to feel the breezes and hear the ocean. Eric is a terrific, responsive, and knowledgable property manager. It was great to have him nearby, but we had complete privacy. We relished the upstairs terrace for morning coffee and sunset cocktails. We even saw a whale from the terrace! The villa had everything we needed, with plenty of comfortable space for our family to spread out. The pool is on the small side, but we really enjoyed it. We loved the 25-minute jungle walk each way to the (not swimmable) beach in front of the house. And you can't beat being just 1 mile outside the town of Sayulita, which we easily accessed with our rented golf cart. Our only disappointment: We didn't see even one scorpion, which our kids were hoping for! We did, however, see some beautiful birds, as well as salamanders. Villa Karuna exceeded our expectations, which were fairly high. (We decided that it would also be perfect for three adult couples traveling together.) We definitely hope to return soon. Breathtaking Views

I am so surprised that this house was available during high season because it was spectacular! The views were amazing and the star gazing at night was unreal. It’s super close to Sayulita but far enough to relax with the sounds of the jungle. The kitchen was well stocked and Eric, property manager, responded very quickly to any concerns which I honestly didn’t have any. I highly recommend this place and will be back in the future.

Property manager / location & space was 5 stars!

Eric was awesome, made everything super easy / fun! Location and the actual property was 100x more than what we thought it could be. Had a great stay! Cant wait to go back!!! And again thanks Eric!

Jungle paradise

Amazing house away from it all. Private bike to an empty beautiful beach. Property manager was the best ever, making for a blissful experience

My wife and I are retired videographers and Landscape designers. We have been coming to Sayulita since 1998. Back when it was a small, quiet fishing village with only 1 telephone. We chose the Sayulita area, for many reasons but primarily for it's amazing beauty and lush tropical jungle, with mountains going right into the sea. As Lanscape gardeners, we also where amazed by how vigorously plants grow here. We have planted trees that are 50 ft tall and a bamboo forest that is over 70 feet tall. We designed Villa Karuna as a part time home and as a place to hold our annual family reunions. We have 3 sons and their familes with 5 grand children. The grand kids have been coming here since birth. Two of our sons proposed to their wives here. We all love the abundant outdoor adventures available here. Surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, sailing, fishing, hiking, birdwatching, whale watching. The list goes on.
Our family uses this amazing slice of paradise as our private and elegant nature retreat for renewal and rejuvenation.

Our area has larger properties and very few houses. Located on a 7 acre estate It is very private and gated with lush tropical gardens. It is the perfect location at the edge of town, near enough to walk, drive or hop a taxi for all the great food, beach time, shopping and nightlife, but far enough to be away from all the hustle and bustle and party noise. It's perfect for your relaxing, private and peaceful vacation opportunity.
