Quaint Cottage in the Heart of Point Judith, Galilee & Beautiful Beaches

Great Island is a quaint beach island community in the heart of Galilee in Narragansett, RI, with remnants of days gone by. As you cross over the bridge to Great Island, bordered on the right by East Pond and on the left by The Fishing Port of Galilee, you'll feel the fast pace of daily life just melt away as you approach our little piece of relaxation called Summerwind Cottage.

Summerwind is a bright and cozy 3 bed, 2 bath cottage where you can begin your day with coffee in our Adirondack chairs on the deck, enjoy a walk or bike ride exploring the island or head straight to any of south county's beaches for sun and surf just minutes away.Then stop off for clam cakes and chowder and follow it all up with homemade ice cream in chocolate dipped waffle cones while watching surfers from the sea wall at Narragansett Town Beach.

Local amenities within walking & driving distance include the Block Island Ferry, South County's best seafood restaurants, state beaches, deep sea fishing charters and public boat ramp.

The Great Island community is the perfect get-a-way. It's secluded yet right in the heart of everything that is Narragansett! So bring your beach chairs, bikes and boogie boards for all that the Rhode Island coastline has to offer where you're a 30 minute ferry ride to Block Island, a 30 minute drive to Newport and just minutes from the ocean state's best beaches. A vacation on Great Island is as busy or as relaxing as you want it to be.

Our seasonal rentals run Saturday to Saturday, full weeks only, minimum 7 night stay is required.

For the convenience of all guests this is a non-smoking pet-free cottage.

Great Island Cottage

The cottage was great. The inside was charming and comfortable. The porch with its new furniture was so relaxing to hang out on in the evening. Also the outdoor shower was wonderful. We also enjoyed the neighborhood and it's close proximity to Galilee

Great property and location

Lovely stay on Great Island - our family of 4 enjoyed the comfortable couch, the teens liked having their own rooms, the deck was wonderful for dinners and reading in the evening, we loved the outdoor shower and the cottage had everything we needed for making our meals when we wanted to. Great location to explore local beaches as well as visit Newport and Jamestown. Owners were very receptive to inquiries. Perfect summer stay!

Lovely Cottage

Enjoyed this lovely cottage located close to beaches and restaurants! With Newport only around 40 minutes away, it was just perfect for a day trip. An umbrella to ward off the afternoon sun would be a great addition on the deck but the evening shade made it a perfect place to eat dinner and relax! You will not be disappointed by choosing this cabin!

Perfect vacation spot!

The property was very clean, had everything we needed for a family vacation and location was peaceful and relaxing. We've been vacationing in Narragansett for over 20 years and this cottage provided us with one of our best stays!! Close to fishing and family friendly Salty brine beach. Thanks for a great week!!

Wonderful stay on Great Island!

The house was clean and comfortable, perfect for our family of 4 plus mother-in-law. The big kitchen table was great for enjoying meals together, especially fresh fish from the nearby market. We enjoyed long scenic walks around the island, all of the nearby beaches, visiting the harbor in Galilee and also Adventureland. The house was perfect, will definitely visit again!

Lovely home; great area!

We had a wonderful time at Summerwind Cottage on Great Island! The location is unique and there was a lot to do (and eat) nearby. The house was incredibly clean and comfortable, perfect for our group. My dad has been coming to Rhode Island since about 1934 and he *really* enjoyed this trip! Hosts were attentive and responsive; very easy to work & communicate with. Would definitely look to rent again in the future if our group size works!

Sweet family cottage

Great little cottage with tons of amenities for a great stay. Wish there was a small outside table on the deck or in the yard. Also, sheets and towels are not included in the stay so be prepared. Overall a nice vacation spot in a super neighborhood, close to everything south county. Thanks again to the host!

We enjoyed our stay there very much. Loved Great Island, great location. Inside of the house was very clean and well kept. Only thing was the wooden steps/platform to enter into house and the deck are in desperate need of repair and the steps into house needs a railing. Wood is all splintered!!
