Picturesque 5- Bedroom close to Windham and Hunter

Located between Windham and Hunter Mountain, a 10 minute drive each, The Lodge at Deer Pond provides seclusion just minutes from the action - hiking trails, skiing, snowboarding, lakes and other natural wonders, are just minutes away.
Featuring 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths your group can easily spread out. Our home offers no lack of entertainment, fast wi-fi, 3 TVs, hot tub, pool table, sitting by our indoor and outdoor fireplaces, smores by our fire pit or simply sitting and enjoying the pond.

The space
The lodge provides for spacious spacious living and sleeping space on its three levels.

The recently installed Mitsubishi split unit air conditioning will keep the 1st floor common spaces cool. Additional split units are located in the king bedded and the twin bedded 1st floor bedrooms and the king bedded, 2nd floor primary bedroom which is en suite.

In addition there is a king bedded bedroom and a bunk room on the lower level. Each of the three levels have large, uniquely decorated bathrooms, two with tub/showers and one with just a shower. There is also a half bath on the 1st floor. There are two large entertainment areas on different levels of the house.

*** Hunter Mountain is again hosting Octoberfest, 2025.
The dates are September 27-28, October 4-5 and October 11-12. Check to see if we have availability.***

As the seasons change from Winter into Spring, Summer and Fall, golf or fishing may be your activity of choice. Both are available minutes from the house.
- Christman's in Windham offers 27 holes of golf for the enthusiast.
- The Schoharie Creek and the Batavia Kill offer early season trout fishing. The Esopus is half an hour away and offers native rainbow trout and brown trout fishing throughout the season.
- Hiking is a tradition in the Catskills. We can recommend our favorite hiking trails, easily accessible from our centrally located house.

Each of the four seasons offers its own charm and activities in the Northern Catskills.

This was our second time staying in this spectacular home and the only time I have rebooked a property. Our family of 9 stayed here for an amazing week of skiing. I cannot fathom what would earn it anything less than 5 stars.

The hosts, Danielle and Barry, were very communicative right from the start. They answered all of our questions before and during our trip promptly. And the house and property were gorgeous! I have stayed at several rentals, and this home is at the top of all my stays (and several of my friends on the trip made the same comment)! The cabin didn't feel like a rental, it felt like it was someone's home that they had prepared for us to stay in. We had such a wonderful time, and we cannot wait to go back!

The house is as advertised and is beautifully appointed living areas, kitchen and bathrooms. Was perfect for our family to meet in a central location for a long weekend. Hosts were very responsive and accommodating. Great location for summer hiking, antiquing, farm markets and lots of great food and beverage in the area. Also great for winter skiing - a few minutes from Hunter Mountain.

Beautiful pre-holiday stay!

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful Jewett home. It was incredibly warm and cozy. Loved everything about it! Barry and Danielle were great - super responsive always and in addition gave us great tips regarding places to see/eat. Looking forward to staying there again in the future.

My family loved staying in this cabin to see the changing of the leaves in the Catskills. We saw deer on the road and the kids had a great time catching tiny frogs by the pond. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, and another huge selling point for this location is the three king size beds. We also grilled and roasted marshmallows on the patio. The house was very clean and comfortable. So many great memories! We would definitely stay here again.

Ski Weekend With Friends

The house was beautiful and had everything we needed for a fun ski weekend with friends. We were impressed by the attention to detail and felt cozy and at home right away. The kids had a blast all playing together. We can't wait to come back next year!

Top notch place to stay

This was a perfect stay for a skiing holiday. The place was exactly as advertised and even nicer in person. My husband and all our children had an amazing time and the house was both practical and lovely! We took advantage of the hot tub and fire and all 9 of us could comfortably watch a movie in downstairs area. The kitchen has everything one might need. We hope to return next year!

Hot tub didn’t look cleaned, dirt on bottom, skin flakes or something on top of water. Shower downstairs had a bunch of long hair in it when we arrived.

We're a group of guys in our late 40s who grew up together. Every year we rent a house for a long weekend getaway to relax - cooking, grilling, drinking, laughing, playing poker, catching up around the fire pit...And WOW this house was perfect! We honestly can't think of a single thing to complain about. Plenty of space for the eight of us, deck was great, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds. Hot tub looking up at the stars on a clear, cool late-August night - all perfect.We highly recommend this house! Very happy we stayed here. Disco Squad approved!

Family ski trip.

We came up for a long weekend with ages ranging from 14-81! The location is great for Hunter Mountain skiers, 10 minutes to the slopes. The younger people in our group loved the “privacy” the downstairs area afforded them. They had their own T.V. Pool table and gaming area. The house is exactly as described and the hosts are very responsive to any inquiries made before and during our stay. The house is unique and that is was large enough for our group of 12 but also felt cozy at the same time. There isn’t anything I can think of that was missing or that could have made the place any better. It was perfect. If we ever decide to ski Hunter again, this property would be our go too.

Fantastic House; Superb Hosts; Terrific Location

I've rented a number of VRBO homes over the years, and this is by far one of my tops! It hits it out of the park on all accounts: *Terrific communication with the hosts, who have thought of everything to make the stay wonderful. *Home is spectacular in every way - comfortable, well laid out, beautifully furnished, well stocked, and every detail is considered - even down to the cookies and lollipop treats! The outside fireplace on the deck with the ski chairs was probably our favorite amenity. *Location is fantastic - just 10minutes from Windham where we skiied, but close to Hunter and Bellayre too. Just a lovely, lovely home that felt cabin cozy for chilly evenings enjoying monopoly games as a family, yet incredibly spacious where we could all enjoy our own spots. Thank you so much to all the attention to detail, Danielle - we look forward to returning soon!

More than a 5 star review👍

Where do I begin… at every turn and in every room there are amazing surprises with decor and amenities. My family consisted of 8 adults (including my grown kids) and 3 grandchildren. Every bedroom and bathroom has a special uniqueness to it and the entire home has a rustic yet modern charm. My kids said it felt like a beautifully rustic resort without the hassle of extra people. We cooked every morning and night and went hiking and brewery hopping during the day. We all loved the hot tub and our personal favorite was the deck fireplace to sit around at night. My grandson wants to make this an annual birthday stay💕. The owners are very easy to communicate with and I highly recommend renting. Thank you soooo much for a fantastic family weekend at your lovely home!
