Lazy Bear Cabin will be the place you'll want to come back to again & again with your family & friends! Lots of open space to spread out & enjoy your stay in the mountains. Comfortably sleeps 9 with tons of games, outdoor amenities & just 3.5 miles to downtown Mentone! Downstairs offers a large open living room with wood burning fireplace, fully stocked kitchen with island as well as a dining area. Also downstairs, you’ll find two king bedrooms and two full baths. Upstairs, off the loft, is a Queen bedroom. The loft area is where all the fun is with foosball, ping pong, air hockey, jumbo games, + a full size bed with twin trundle. But it doesn’t stop there…outside you’ll fall in love with the wooded landscape surrounding Lazy Bear Cabin! Brand new hot tub to soak after a full day of hiking near by DeSoto State Park, Little River Canyon National Preserve or Couldland Canyon State Park! A charcoal grill to throw some burgers or steaks for dinner and a firepit for a s’mores dessert. Lots of porches to enjoy your meal outdoors, sip your favorite drink while listening to the sounds of nature and maybe catch a glimpse of our local deer and turkey!

Great stay

We really enjoyed our stay at Lazy Bear cabin. We had lots of family competitions in air hockey, ping-pong, foosball, and tiki toss. The hot tub was a great size for our crew (2 adults and 3 kids). Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. They had plenty of fire wood at the property which we really appreciated since the forecast turned much colder than we originally expected. We did need to reach out due to a dying fire alarm and they were quick to have maintenance come out. Glenn (maintenance) was very friendly and quick to resolve any issues. Also, Walmart will deliver to this cabin which was awesome for us. We were able to go straight to the cabin on the first day and have groceries delivered rather than the usual grocery store run. This was so nice after the long drive.

Everything was outstanding at Lazy Bear!! The cabin was very clean, well-equipped for all our needs, including comfortable beds and couches in the den, and lovely decorations throughout, reflecting the cabin name. My family of 8, grandparents, adult children, and grandchildren enjoyed ourselves immensely playing ping pong, air hockey, foosball, and all the other games provided! We had fires in the fireplace and out in the fire pit. We appreciated that plenty of wood was provided. We enjoyed hiking at Desoto State Park and warming up in the hot tub on the porch. Great Cabin

I was thoroughly impressed with how clean the cabin was, especially given its dog friendly. We have our own dogs at home so I was expecting at least some signs of dog wear and tear such as leftover hair. There was nothing; this is one of the cleanest rentals I have ever stayed in which is saying a lot. We also loved that it was well stocked with all the things you dont always think to bring like firewood, matches, laundry pods, etc. We could've used some more towels, but we ended up washing what was available. The outside needs some TLC (siding, deck, etc.), but it didnt take away from the experience - I am just being nitpicky at this point. Beautiful cabin and my son loved the games - they provided so much entertainment. We will be back!

The cabin was clean and comfortable. The hot tub was extremely clean and.hot. Our weekend was very relaxing and comfortable. The only issue we had was with flies. The more we swatted the more came. We suggest the host provide fly flaps. We will return one day.

Perfect Birthday Getaway Weekend

3 couples, our dogs and so much fun!! We came for the local hiking and ended up spending more time at the cabin. With so much to do (e.g., hot tub, games, fire pit, etc), we needed a couple more days to do everything. Two nights were not enough. The cabin was beautifully appointed, super comfortable with peaceful, wooded surroundings. Hope to return with other family members again. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic stay in northeast Alabama!

Excellent Stay

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lazy Bear Cabin. My grandson loved playing all the games and enjoyed the hot tub. It was a nice quiet peaceful area and we rested well. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of seating. We enjoyed seeing all the deer walk through the woods beside the cabin.

Absolutely amazing

Lazy Bear Cabin was the perfect place for our family. We had so much fun in the game room. The location was ideal. The fire pit was wonderful for our s'morrs!! There was absolutely nothing lacking from our visit to Mentone. Only thing I would change would be spend a lot more time!!!

Awesome Stay!

We had an awesome time, both restful and entertaining at this cabin. It was even better than we imagined or saw in the photos. We have four kids ranging from 7 to 17 and everyone had so much fun with the games upstairs and being able to cook and eat our own food in the kitchen downstairs. The hot tub was a cool treat as well. The beds were super comfy and everyone rested well. We made a fire in the fireplace and it was so relaxing while we watched some old shows at night and played games together. We come to Mentone often and are already excited to come back to Lazy Bear cabin!

Perfect Escape

Beautiful cabin in extremely peaceful town - like going back in time. It was perfect. We were in area for Georgia high school state playoff events in Rome, GA. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate, but what better time to sit in the hot tub to relax. One word of advice - for nice dinner make advance reservations at Elevation or Wildflower.

great cabin

a very nice and quite cabin. Hot tub was great and firepit also. We roasted marshmellows every night and listed and music and had great sibling time. Close enough water falls and visit lots of eatry places. We also visited the Alabama museum which was very good.

Wonderful cabin for a family weekend

We loved the cabin, the property, the hot tub and especially the fire pit. The loft with all the games was great! Lots of amenities so we didn't really need to bring any extras for just a weekend.

Perfect Stay

The cabin was perfect for 5 adults. It was clean and well appointed, with a few very nice extras, like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, nice linens and a variety of KCups. The property was in a good location, close to a couple restaurants but still secluded and quiet.

Great cabin!

The hot tub was easy to operate and had a cool setting for colored lights which was super fun. There’s a spot to have a picnic on the back porch with two comfy rocking chairs and there’s also an awesome firepit. We utilized both of these and had so much fun. The only issue we had was that some of the wood on one of the stairs was really soft and gave way when I stepped on it but that just happens sometimes when wood is exposed to the elements over time. Overall, really great cabin with tons of fun amenities :)

Wonderful Stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this cabin! We loved it so much, we called to book an additional night. We enjoyed the hot tub, the fire pit, and the beds were really comfortable! Mentone is a sweet town! Quiet and relaxing!! We plan to be back for another visit!

Great Family Friendly Cabin at Mentone

We loved the cabin. Spacious and roomy and had everything we needed. Great for kids. Our kids especially loved the upstairs game room (particularly air hockey and jenga), the hot tub, and firepit for late night smores. Quick drive to Desoto State park and Desota Falls for hiking, ziplining, etc. I would definitely recommend this cabin and we plan on coming back.

We had an amazing time. The hot tub is perfect, and I really appreciate that there was firewood on the property. The only issue is that there was only one trash bag.
