We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The hosts communication and help throughout the process and our stay was wonderful!! House is beautiful and we enjoyed the amenities that came with the house. The water was unfortunately too low to dock our boat but that was only negative and not anything the hosts can control. Thank you for a wonderful family get-a-way!

Perfect for our quick getaway with the kids. Only utilized two of the bedrooms… ample space for activities of all sorts. Enjoyed the water toys, fire pit and hammocks for sure

Lovely Lake Anna stay!

We had an amazing stay! The house is clean, updated and nicely decorated. The location is beautiful! We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards and sitting at the table on the dock for morning coffee and sunsets. We also used the fire pit at night for s’mores. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Perfect for families

We enjoyed our stay! Matt was responsive and helpful to our questions. The house had many outdoor amenities available for use and inside was clean and comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation!

Loved the renovations

My family enjoyed our week at this waterfront home. Matt was an excellent host and the new renovations were excellent. The basement needed a deep cleaning but otherwise we really enjoyed the house and would stay here again.

Great stay!

Overall a great stay. The kids loved paddle boarding and kayaking, and caught lots of fish right off the dock! Our host was very good with communication and giving us some recommendations.

Perfect relaxing family vacation.

This was the perfect location for family to gather. We spent many hours on the dock just fishing or floating on the cove. Enjoyed the Lake Anna area with boating and restaurants.

Family get away

We booked a few days for part of our family to get a few days of kayaking/fishing at the lake. We spent most the day on the water but it was nice to relax in the evening with a fire and movies on the huge tv. Inside of the house was very clean and comfortable.

Beautiful home in quiet cove

This house is well decorated and comfortable, in a nice neighborhood. It was a great place for extended family to stay and relax while in town for a wedding. The view of the lake is beautiful. I loved waking up to the view from the bedroom windows, and we enjoyed lounging on the large porch. The kids had fun playing in the water and on the paddle boards. Host was responsive and helpful.

Beautiful lake front

We had an amazing time at this beautiful lake front home. The pictures don’t do it justice and the views from the house, bedrooms and porch are gorgeous! The kitchen was perfect for our family of 7 and there was plenty of room for togetherness and space! Would definitely come back. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

lovely home and beautiful surroundings

Our host, Matt was very accommodating when our plans changed and we had to add an extra day to the start of our stay. The house is beautiful, comfortable and the kitchen is amazing. It was great for the 400+ servings of wedding reception desserts that we made for our daughter's wedding at Lake Anna. The kitchen island is huge and was like having additional countertop the length of the kitchen. I had a package delivered to the house, which arrived late after we checked out and the host graciously forwarded it to our home address. Highly recommend this lovely home and grounds for family gatherings and get aways!

Great house

This house was great. We booked it for a girls weekend and it was exactly what we needed. The kitchen is fantastic and there were plenty of comfy lounging areas inside. We loved the fire pit, deck, and porch. We sat outside daily and read or chatted. It is a beautiful, quiet location and the renters really thought of everything. I loved that linens were included and they even left some trash bags, toilet paper, and paper towels, which if you’ve ever rented houses before, that is definitely not the norm. The renovations are beautiful and they really take good care of the home. Definitely coming back.

Spectacular spring break getaway

We had an amazing stay at this lake house. This house exceeded our expectations. It was clean, comfortable, and had many amenities. From the big things like kayaks and paddle boards, comfy beds, and scenic view on the dock, to the little things like extra toilet paper, towels and linens, and sports equipment provided, this place had it all! My children spent most of the day fishing or on the water. They loved exploring the little islands right outside of the cove. I loved that I could sit on the dock, relax, and not worry about them! The volleyball court and basketball hoop we definitely an added bonus! Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! We will definitely come back to this house again!

Already Planning Our Return!

The recently renovated lake house, Looking Forward, hit all the marks on our family vacation. All rooms were clean and welcoming. The design and furnishing of the three floors allowed each person to claim their own private space with great internet access everywhere on the property! The kitchen was wonderful for preparing meals for the family. The primary bedroom and bath suite was spacious; we particularly liked the size of the closet and the open shower. All the other bedrooms were comfortable and decent in size. A key feature of this lake house is the wrap-around porch which provided hours of enjoyment from morning yoga to family conversations over a glass of wine. This is the second lake-house we have rented in the area. We loved having an area of calm water where people could learn to paddle board without large waves before heading out to the open lake. The boat house had good quality kayaks, paddle boards and life vests for guests to use. We are already planning a return trip next year. Our hosts were gracious and quickly answered any questions we had during our stay.

Amazing Fall Getaway!

We stayed at “Looking Forward to the Lake” for an early fall get away to spend a few days enjoying nature and the fall foliage. This was the perfect home for just that. Matt and his wife are extremely responsive and attentive hosts, offering flexibility and going the extra mile for their guests. The property itself is nestled away on a quiet cove and is surrounded by the most beautiful trees and scenery. This provides just the right amount of privacy but with the convenience of the grocery store and other local establishments just a short drive up the road. One thing we really enjoyed was spending the gorgeous fall days on the water using the kayak and paddle board, and evenings by the fire pit. The house has all the things to make the lake enjoyable. Our second favorite part of the home was the amazing TV with led fire place. This made movie night amazing and I can’t wait to get one myself. Last but not least there is a spacious kitchen and grill right off the side of the kitchen to make barbecuing easy. I can’t wait to come back again next fall. Overall a beautiful, clean and relaxing place to stay with great hosts and plenty of great memories ❤️

The location is good. So many positives but cleaning needs work.It's at the end of a little canal, it's shallow and muddy. Just bring some floats and enjoy it. We had hoped to use the fire pit, but the grass was overgrown in that area and it made the yard very buggy so we didnt use it. They provide a lot of wood which was nice.They provide a lot of outdoor seating, and the hammocks were fabulous. Overall we had a really nice stay. the indoor space was very usable and there were plenty of spaces too group and play games.Some notes for folks with asthma like me. the downstairs vents have mold or alot of dirt. the owners said their system was new, but if they didn't replace the ducts, this does happen in high humidity homes. the humidity was regularly above 60%. I provided photos.There's so many great touches in the home. Many positives. Cleaning was an iasue. The bedrooms seemed clean.When we arrive, the downstairs bathroom still had poop in it. The master bathroom had a clean maxi pad in it, both had rings around the toilet like they hadn't been cleaned. The backs of the sinks at seems hadn't been deep cleaned in a long time in all but the guest bath upstairs.The master bath shower had that pink and black mold that you get when you don't clean it regularly. Kitchen cabinets and doors fulls of handprints.on first floor every mornjng we woke to hundreds of bugs at bottom of stairs. This was overwhelming.

Hi Jennifer Thank you for your feedback and for sharing that you enjoyed your overall stay with us. We’re sorry to hear there were concerns about cleanliness. We’d like to clarify that the discoloration you noticed in the shower and toilets is caused by natural minerals in our well water, not from lack of cleaning. The minerals in the water discolor grout over time, unfortunately. I know because I have scrubbed that tile and grout myself personally. The HVAC system is brand new in the property and there is no mold present. It is humid in Virginia in the summer - and especially by the lake! The flooring was also recently replaced and we haven't yet replaced the floor vents yet. It's on our list of things to do! Our cleaning team works hard to ensure the home is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for every guest. Best regards, Beth
