This newer waterfront home on Pamlico Sound, in Salvo, NC is perfect for multigenerational families! Added this summer was a beautiful outdoor living and entertainment area beneath the home with corn hole boards, comfy seating, large open bar with sink and mini fridges and a tv! It also has two stand up paddle boards left out for their guests use in the harbor and Pamlico Sound. The home features 6 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, and an elevator, making it easy for everyone to get around. There is a large living space and kitchen with plenty of room to relax and entertain. There are 4 king ensuite bedrooms, 1 standard twin (total 2 beds) ensuite, and 1 bunkroom with 4 full beds inlaid into the wall. This home comfortably sleeps 14 guests. Private Hot Tub on the bedroom floor level with sweeping views of the Pamlico Sound.

The home is just a short walk to the ocean beaches and the Salvo Day use area. There is also easy driving access parking if you choose to drive to the beach. For a little more adventure, it is also conveniently located close to NC ORV ramps, so you can take advantage of beach driving (4x4 and 4WD permit required) on OBX beaches. Black Dog Harbor is a family-friendly community offering amenities that include a fishing pier, a gazebo, cornhole, a boat ramp and a basketball hoop. You can also bring your own boat or jet skis.

At the end of the day, relax in the hot tub and take in breathtaking sunsets over the Pamlico Sound.

Well-behaved Adult dogs (maximum of two) are welcome with payment of non-refundable pet fee ($300 per dog, per stay). No puppies - meaning no dogs under 1 year.

Wonderful Space, Unaccommodating Policies

The good: beautiful home, plenty of space for a group of 15, felt very safe for children ages 7-9mo old, well- appointed kitchen, new washer & dryer, lovely outdoor space including a private outdoor shower. The meh: all the outdoor amenities are part of the shared community. The gazebo & basketball areas are not visible from much of the house. The location is close to the Day Use area but we couldn't find anything walkable, especially with all the gear/kids in tow. There are lots of shops, convenience stores, restaurants but most things close by 9pm. The no good: the host is generally not accommodating. We felt like we were almost an imposition and that we were not trustworthy. Check-out policies are inconvenient (all kitchen items washed, dried and returned to their places means breakfast for 15 is a challenge with a 9am check-out. We ended up handwashing everything since the dishwasher wasn't an option) & while Dawn is quick to communicate, her responses are off-putting and left a bad taste in our mouths. While we loved the home & Salvo, we would not book with Black Dog Harbor in the future.

Great House

Endless sunsets and a marvelous common space on the upper level has all you’ll need to have a large family hang out. Very new and clean. Large kitchen had all we needed.

Amazing House!

One of the best properties you could find anywhere on OBX. Fantastic location with the best views of the sound and sunset, quick walk to the beach, free access to kayaks from a few steps away. The kitchen was a delight to cook in, while watching the sunset :) Very nicely equipped with decent quality pots and pans and serveware, nespresso machine and all. The 10 ft (or so?) custom dining table was to die for! All rooms as well as the common areas were tastefully decorated, very clean and enjoyable. Kids loved their built in bunkbeds. The sound system is much appreciated! We did not get to use the hottub, but totally would with a longer trip. Even the neighbors in the community were super nice and helpful. The communication throughout was also very prompt and curteous. If you see the house available, I'd say jump on the opportunity, you won't regret it!
