The Saltaire was the perfect beach house for my family! It is a spacious, well appointed home, clean and beautiful; close to the beach and to many stores and shops. The owner was very responsive to all my questions. I highly recommend this home!

Beautiful home

A beautiful Victorian home with all the amenities made for a wonderfully appointed rental. Walking distance to restaurants and shops made things very convenient. If I have a suggestion for future rentals it would be to rent a golf cart to get down to the beach it is more than you can walk with little children or august heat. You can drive a car down w/ private parking as well if you don’t mind some sand in the vehicle. My only quibble was that all the wonderful outdoor activities at the home (games, children’s play activities, putting green) would take a full day of cleaning in order to use. We cleaned the pool chairs, tables which didn’t take much time but the rest of the outdoor equipment remained fairly dirty. That and a regular outdoor exterminator would’ve been ideal. Owner was very responsive to our needs.

Nice property, however, it is listed as beachfront/oceanfront and it is not. the beach is a good 0.5mi walk, which took 15-20min. The host was very responsive and accommodating.

Great location, spacious house

This house is in a great location for walking to shops and restaurants. The house is spacious and clearly designed with guests in mind. The game room in the basement and the pool were lots of fun.

Lovely house. Perfect location.

The house was beautiful inside and out. It had absolutely everything you could possibly need. Location was perfect (2 minute walk to food store or the boardwalk and shops). It was also great that the deck on one side of the pool was shaded in the afternoon. Would be my first choice to rent again in Duck.

Late July stay

Very nice property, great location for access to town of Duck and boardwalk / restaurants. House was clean inside with all the amenities as advertised. Backyard pool was very nice for relaxing. Beach is a good walk from the house, or a short drive. Few problems encountered during our stay. Upstairs air conditioner went out several days during the week, we ended up replacing batteries in the wall thermostat to get it working. Outside, lots of large spiders and webs this time of year. Several outside doors were inaccessible due to spider webs, and we always took a broom with us when venturing on the porch or near the barbecue or to take garbage out. Overall, the family enjoyed their stay but for the price paid, we expected a better maintained property.

Lovely, spacious mansion home on the Outer-bank.

The Saltaire was perfect for our family gathering. All the bedrooms have bathrooms and every bedroom is nicely decorated. The large game room and family room were big hits with the young adults. All in all, the time at the Saltaire was a big hit with the family.

Perfect Vacation

The Saltaire was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. Check in was a breeze and the home has everything we needed for our stay. The elevator was great to load in our bags and groceries. The kitchen had everything we needed and loads of space in the 3 enormous refrigerators. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom and the bathroom out by pool was very convenient. Speaking of the pool, it was perfect. Some of us lounged by the pool all day while the others strolled down the street to the wonderful beach. The home has all the beach chairs and coolers and toys that you will need. The lower level’s game and theater room also has everything imaginable to keep you busy if you feel like staying indoors....pool table, shuffleboard, poker table, foosball, ping pong, air hockey, huge tv...the list goes on and on. As beautiful as the home is, the absolute best part about it is the location. Literally right across the street are all the shops and board walk. You can walk to everything! It really is a perfect vacation home for a large group.

This home is an absolute gem!!

Located in the best section of Duck, an easy walk to shopping, restaurants and the beach. The home itself is a gorgeous Victorian with elegant, comfortable furnishings. Besides the pool and hot tub, there was even a small playground for the kids! The house and the yard are immaculately kept. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and the beds are extremely comfortable. I enjoyed spending mornings walking on the beach, afternoons reading poolside and the hot tub in the evening! The owner was gracious and very accommodating. There isn't another thing I could have wished for - this vacation was perfect!

What a great place to stay. No streets to cross to get to their private beach. Super close to boardwalk and restaurants. Lots of chairs ,surfboards and a kayak to use. The owners were great and very helpful. The house is outstanding, its like a grand country estate. We can not wait to go back. What a great place. Thank you so much!

Beautiful property & great amenities

Beautiful property & great amenities just steps away from restaurants, beach and just across the street from the Boardwalk. Relax in the hot tub while kids are enjoying the heated pool; or the whole family can enjoy the nice game room. We really enjoyed the stay and kids had a blast! Thank you.

Great place - excellent location

Great place to stay for a large group of people. Lots to do in the area. The boardwalk is nice. The house is nice and very big. Well stocked with plates, glasses, silverware, cooking items etc for a lot of people.

Just Beautiful!

We were looking for a home to rent in Duck, NC that would allow our 2 Airedales and we found SaltAire Mansion. This home is fabulous. It has a gourmet kitchen with 3 refrigerators, a game room/theater room that would be the envy of any man and the home is clean and welcoming. If you are looking for a quiet get away, this is it. The pool and hot tub were great for relaxing and the beach is just a short walk away. The owner Karen was wonderful to work with and made us feel at ease when booking our vacation. This home is a must!

A beautiful, classic home

The Saltaire is a beautiful home with all the amenities you could ask for. The property is gorgeous, spacious, and very comfortable The owners were very responsive to any inquiries I had and were very accommodating to us during our stay. I would absolutely recommend this property for a relaxing weekend in Duck. It is in walking distance of restaurants and shops, so you do not ever need to get in the car once you arrive. We enjoyed going to the Duck Deli for breakfast (located right next door.) All in all, the weekend was a pleasure and certainly will be one to remember fondly.

The perfect place to relax and enjoy your life.

That house feels alive and makes you feel you belong there. It has everything for your comfort and enjoyment. The property is well maintained and clean. It was like a dream to stay at such a beautiful home. The pool and hot tub were perfect, but I think what we all enjoyed the most was having our meals together in that wonderful dinning room. Each day felt like a special holiday. Yes, I would recommend this property to everyone. I loved the ocean, the wonderful shops and great food. It was the first time we ever took our Yorkie on vacation and she loved it. It's a very special house in a very special place. Thank you for a great vacation.

Simply Wonderful Place

Our stay at Saltaire was absolutely wonderful. The entire place offered everything we could ask for in a getaway resort, and then some. The old world charm and architecture of the building nicely complemented the vast array of amenities providing us with the best of “all” worlds. In a day and age when vacations and resort destinations can be as tiring as everyday life, our stay at Saltaire was a welcome dose of privacy and personal luxury. Fabulous!

We stayed for 2 wks and just loved the house and its location was so great too. You can walk to restaurants and shops and the boardwalk which runs along the sound. Duck is an adorable village, we totally fell in love with it. The owners were wonderful to deal with from start to finish and so helpful in places to try. The house looks just like the pictures and everything was well taken care of. The beach is right down the street and the pool and jacuzzi at the house were great. We cooked in and went out to eat about 50/50, everything you could ever need is in the kitchen. Loved the elevator when moving in and out. This was definitely one of our favorite vacations, it truly exceeded our expectations (which almost never happens).

Astonishing rental property

We have rented many properties in last few years to enjoy the long weekends. This one was the finest property, we have ever rented. An astonishing rental property conveniently located in the center of Duck and also situated to provide privacy. A short, easy walk takes you to the beach, dinner or shops. Kitchen has every utensil, one will need to use and big fridges make life easier. Kids loved the big TV in entertainment room and adults loved the pool and poker tables. Our group enjoyed the heated pool, hot tub, in-built Jacuzzi with heated pool and another Jacuzzi in bank bed room. Every room of house has its own different pleasant decoration, makes stay peacemaker. A little unease was that somehow dishwasher did not work during our stay but we did not mind it because we carried disposables. All to gather a Stunning property and we will be renting it again A nice boardwalk just starts few steps far the house over the ocean at bay side. A Jet Ski rental is located only few of miles from house and famous duck donuts shop is on an easy walking distance. At last Thanks to owner Karen, She was very responsive and helpful whenever was needed.

Impressive, beautiful property.

We had a wonderful time in your beautiful house. There was plenty of room for us and four children and spouses and one grandchild, to find a place to have some quiet time if desired. Our bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed all the space. It was nice having HOT water at will. We spent a lot of time in the great kitchen and lingered in the dining room. We used most of the three fridges. Can't imagine having only one! Those bottles of wine and turkey take up a lot of room! The dogs loved running in the yard. The girls and I had fun shopping Friday and Saturday in the cute shops. And the huge TV was great for football watching. And thank you most for the elevator! It saved my legs. It was definitely a very special holiday for us. We are so spread out that we seem to only get all together at weddings and funerals. We will have lovely memories of Duck and the gorgeous sunset our last night there. Judy and Larry Faust

Convenient and well appointed vacation home.

I stayed at Saltaire with friends. The house is spacious, beautifully furnished and well appointed, everything you need is right there. From the property it is an easy walk to the beach or into town for dining out or shopping. We were just as happy to stay by the private pool. It is a lovely place to gather with friends and family.

Beautiful Oasis in the Center of Duck

Extraordinary rental property conveniently located in the center of Duck but situated to provide privacy. A short, easy walk takes you to the beach, dinner or shops. I have stayed in many different places in the Outer Banks over the last 30 years that were very nice but, this is not just a beach rental. It is a beautiful Victorian home that is spacious, very well appointed and comfortable. Saltaire would be lovely for a wedding or other family occasion, as well as your summer vacation. With so many bedrooms, the game room, and spacious main floor it would easily and comfortably accommodate several families. The pool and grounds are just as lovely as the house itself. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and all of the lush greenery surrounding it.

Spotless and beautifully decorated.

My extended family and I recently stayed for a week at the Saltaire. This beautifully decorated home was elegant yet comfortable and cozy. The place provided everything you need for a wonderful stay. Each of the 5 second floor bedrooms was unique and had it's own private bathroom. The kids enjoyed the bunk beds and extensive play area provided in the lower level. Those who like to cook will find a large kitchen with everything and anything you need to cook up a delicious seafood meal or steaks or even just a quick snack or smoothie. If you prefer, restaurants are a quick drive and the lovely boardwalk is just across the street providing additional restaurant options and shopping not to mention the spectacular sunset. The pool and hot tub are a relaxing oasis to spend the day at or a quick walk will find you at the beach. Everything you could want in a NC vacation home and it's all pet friendly so you don't have to leave your furry children.

LOVE the Saltaire!!

What a fantastic time we had at the Saltaire! The location was just great! We enjoyed walking down to the beach in the mornings. And we loved walking on the sound boardwalk at sunset. The wildlife is so beautiful! We loved eating at the Duck Deli right next door! The house was gorgeous and very well equipped. It definitely felt like home! We could not have asked for more! We had absolutely the best time. The kids really enjoyed the big television downstairs and the amazing basement area. Each bedroom was beautiful, unique and cozy. We had such a relaxing time together as a family. I love Duck in February. We had it much to ourselves. This was our first trip to the Outer Banks. We will be back to the Saltaire!! Thank you so much!

For your convenience the Saltaire Home has an elevator to take you to all three floors.

The first floor includes a formal Dining Room with banquet server and seating for 14.

A manly Man’s Pub Room. Decorated in dark wood paneling & fine leather furniture that offers a home theater system, fireplace and large custom-built bar, discretionary poker game & half bath.

Gourmet Kitchen designed for catering events that houses three stainless steel refrigerators, gourmet gas range/2 ovens, 6 burners and grill along with other amenities. Perfect for fixing up a gourmet meal.

Incorporated into the spacious living room is a special round room with the Historic Liberace grand piano. Sip champagne while relaxing in front of our second cozy fireplace.

Two sets of French doors open to a view of the property’s landscaped gardens, cool shaded large wrap around covered porch & outdoor wet bar. An outdoor half bath is located between the bar and gazebo. Want even more places to relax, just take a few steps down to the large pool with a decked courtyard, umbrella outdoor dining & lounge chairs.

The second floor boasts five elegant Guest Suites will full baths & all are decorated with fine antique touches. The rooms are spacious and comfortable so that guests may settle in for a week with the feeling of warmth & luxury.

The bottom floor features a huge bedroom with a queen and 2 twin beds, steam shower with extra-large jacuzzi tub. Also a giant Theater/game room plus an Additional Arcade room.
