Hi! I'm a communications professional who works from home and I immensely enjoy the benefits of WFH traveling. Having grown up in rural Ohio, I appreciate the beauty of countryside but fell in love with cityscape. I moved to Los Angeles after college, then spent years in downtown Chicago but found my way back to my home city: Columbus. I would describe myself as an urban culture-junkie, modern art lover, and amateur photographer; I enjoy music of all kinds, food, wine, coffee and I live for those experiences that broaden my perspectives and enrich my life.
When it comes to hosting, we are thrilled to host our German Village home. Built in 1886, our traditional German house is rich in history and character, truly only footsteps away from beautiful Schiller Park. We encourage walks in the brick-lined neighborhood - you’ll find bookstores, pubs, coffeeshops, gardens and gorgeous historical homes along the way. Or grab the picnic basket in the kitchen and head out to Schiller Park with byo-refreshments (Shakespeare in the Park happens all summer long). Around the corner, there is a Lyft bike station, and down the street you can access the bike path which leads to downtown and beyond - a favorite way of ours to brewery hop.
If you are more interested in the history of my ancestors settling in German Village or the history of the family who owned this home for 100+ years, don’t hesitate to reach out. As avid travelers and lovers of new experiences, you’ll see our nod to traveling throughout the house.
Final note- as a city-dweller mama - I strived to make this home family-friendly so we have a pack and play, high chair, baby gate, kid toys in storage on-site as well as numerous children’s books. If you need anything else to make your stay more comfortable while traveling with littles, don’t hesitate to reach out - we get it and are happy to help (we also love your fur babies and have several ourselves)!

Por qué escogió este alojamiento
This is our beautiful neighborhood! Historical and great for walking. The houses and gardens are beautiful. German Village runs from City Park (West) to Parsons (East), Livingston (North) to Thurman (South). 3rd Street has a collection of coffee spots, restaurants, chocolate shops etc.
Schiller Park is just steps away and perfect for walks, jogs, fishing, and bird-watching. There’s an outdoor performance stage where you can often watch a play (look up Shakespeare in the Park to learn more), a recreation center, benches, beautiful statues, outdoor art, a playground and more! The ducks are friendly and people (and their dogs) are friendlier.
During the summer months, there is a farmers' market on 3rd Street next to the St Marys Church on Saturdays. Once a month, there is a "makers mart" craft and food event just a half-block away at Thurman and City Park.
During the winter months, look into Village Lights - you'll feel like you're in a Hallmark Movie with lanterns, free hot chocolate and holiday-decorations on every brick-lined street! A walk through snowy Schiller Park is lovely, as well. We like to spend winter trying cozy new restaurants in the neighborhood and investing in the arts.
