Our Comfy Coastal Home

This is our coastal home, that we share, to help cover expenses. We are here at least one week a month. We allow pets because we have a small dog. PLEASE CHECK THE BOX FOR PETS IF YOU ARE BRINGING THEM ALONG. The back yard is fenced.

Shallotte, NC, is a great little town with every big box store and fast food restaurant you could possibly need nearby. There are also some great local businesses and restaurants. Ocean Isle is the closest beach and it is an easy seven miles away. Holden Beach and Sunset Beach are slightly farther. If you are a boater, the ICW us even closer. If you like fishing or kayaking on the calmer, inland waterways, you are close to many launches.

This home is in a quiet subdivision, where respect was given to trees and open space when developed. No golf course here, but there are many nearby. The back yard is peaceful, private and close to nature, with a pond visible from the comfortable, screened back porch. The back yard is fully fenced with solid white vinyl on three sides and aluminum (see-through) fence along the back.

The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and utensils, and the pantry and frig items are available to guests, within reason. The downstairs master bedroom and bath are off limits, but there are three nice bedrooms upstairs, with two full baths. There is a half bath downstairs.

There are smart TVs in all rooms, and two smart TVs downstairs with local station access. The king bedroom, on the sunrise side of the house, has blinds and blackout curtains. All beds have luxury hotel mattresses. Laundry room and utility sink available too.

The cleaning fee is based on full occupancy (all three bedrooms occupied.) The fee can be adjusted based on the number of rooms used. This would be done as a refund once the cleaning service verifies the bedrooms used.

Beach supplies are in the shed out back. The back yard is fenced, but I would certainly not leave a dog out there unattended. PLEASE TELL ME IF YOU BRINGING A PET. It would also be nice to know the breed, size and age.

Please be sure to read and agree to house rules. Motorhomes and boat trailers are not allowed by HOA. Do not block the sidewalk. There is space in the garage for a car or small boat trailer.

Lovely home, fully stocked kitchen! Safe neighborhood. Pups loved the fenced in yard. Just a few miles from the beach. Quick response from owner. We had a great time. Would definitely come back.

Great space!

My wife and I loved our stay at the Comfy Coastal Home. Very stylishly decorated and fantastic outdoor space. We loved the location - a short drive to either Sunset or Holden beach. Kitchen had everything we needed and the bed was super comfy. Candy was great with her communication and super helpful when we needed to push out our trip dates. Highly recommend this like-new house.

Cozy Clean and Well Appointed

We were in town for a family birthday celebration. I stayed with 2 adult family members. The house is welcoming clean and cozy. The bedroom and bath ratio was just right and Candy supplies just about everything you can think of to feel at home. The dogs loved the backyard and neighborhood. The backporch fan and available mister fan were a nice bonus! Would absolutely recommend and I hope to return. The location is perfect and super peaceful.

Feels like home

Very nice home in safe quiet neighborhood close to downtown Shallotte and Ocean Isle Beach. Kitchen fully equipped, coffee and creamer supplied. The entire house was super clean and spotless. Very dog friendly. Great backyard. Neighborhood has sidewalks for easy dog walking. Very homey.

Perfect house right in the middle of everything!

For one I would just like to say how much I appreciated the host for allowing the whole family to stay including the dogs. The house is huge and is beautiful! It’s right in the middle of every beach. Definitely a great find!

90th birthday party

The house was perfect for our stay. There were only three of us but more would be very comfortable. Our daughter is developmentally delayed and was excited to have her own bed with her own tv “just like home” as she said It was On a very quiet street, easy access and the beds were very comfortable. The hist was very nice and I would highly recommend this to everyone.

Enjoyed our stay.

Everything was comfortable, cozy and clean. Thank you for the “nuts & bolts” mix you left us; it was delicious. : ) The only negative feedback we have is the upstairs single beds were very uncomfortable. Consequently, we could not use that room and had to share a bed in the other 2 bedrooms. Otherwise, all was great.

Cute, Quiet Community

We stayed for the week at Our Comfy Coastal Home. It was truly a home away from home. Very clean, well stocked, comfortable home. The owners are very nice and extremely responsive. The house comes with an outdoor fenced in area that the dogs enjoyed. The neighborhood is quiet and well taken care of. Great sidewalks and wide roads for taking the dogs on daily walks. Close to all the great food in Shallotte, but far enough to feel like you’re in the country. We had a nice peaceful week and would recommend anyone looking for the same to check it out!

Great stay!

Thank you for sharing your home and providing a nice, relaxing environment! Very nice clean home. Host has thought of everything. Just a note to new guests that the Master Bedroom on first floor is locked and not available to guests. It did not bother us at all, but might be an issue for elderly or anyone with mobility issues that can’t climb the stairs. House and yard were perfect for us and appreciated the Host being flexible with dates and checkout. Will definitely stay again when visiting the area!

Weekend Getaway

My wife and I enjoyed a weekend getaway to the area to meet up with other veterans for some much needed motorcycle riding. Though the weather didn’t cooperate much at all for riding, the beautiful home surpassed our expectations. It was perfectly located in a quiet community not far from great local restaurants and stores for any needed necessities. The home was beautifully maintained and well decorated. There were no shortage of items or necessities should you decide to stay in and cook. Plenty of room was afforded in this rental and the screened porch made evening watching of squirrels, birds and woodpeckers an enjoyable experience. The garage access made keeping our motorcycles safe and out of the weather. Honestly, I don’t think I can recall any negative about this property at all. We will definitely stay here again when visiting the area. A definite must stay!

well maintained. Hosts were very responsive. Outstanding location in a quiet neighborhood. The privacy fence on both sides along with a wrought iron fence along the back gave a sense of being in nature. Landscaping very well done. Yard had many bird and pollinator feeders so it was a delightful serene place. There was a food composter that we used. Kitchen extremely well stocked with whatever you might need. Beds comfortable. We enjoyed the sunporch. Garage was wonderful for the July heat and sun.

Vacationing in shangri-la

This "comfy coastal home " was far more than just "comfy". Candy provided absolutely every possible amenity imaginable......from a fully stocked kitchen (a beautiful kitchen I might add) to beautiful bedrooms (3) with comfortable beds, and 2 full bathrooms upstairs plus half bath on main level. The yard is fenced in and quite private with a view to a large pond and lots of lush beautiful greenery. There is a grill and a table and chairs on a large patio. Our aussiedoodle loved being able to roam out there. We also were able to put our car in the garage and that was a very nice perk. This home is located in a beautiful, quiet subdivision and only 10 minutes to a beautiful beach....Ocean Isle I think. Summing up......We are coming back. This was a wonderful vacation spot all made possible by a host that obviously has had lots of experience in knowing just how to welcome you.

We did not want to be on the beach, in a house on stilts, subject to hurricanes and flooding. Being seven miles from Ocean Isle was just right. Our backyard is private and quiet and the neighborhood has sidewalks for easy walking, with many trees and wooded areas.

It's our house at the beach that's not a beach house, although there are some coastal vibes. It's a real home, not just an investment rental property.
