Beautiful house right on the river with a lot of character. Perfect views for morning tea/coffee on the screened in patio, or even to watch a storm role in. Even made friends with some of the little lizards that liked to sun themselves on the porch. Host was very responsive to questions and helpful, even came over to help us figure something out so it was nice to meet him and learn a bit of the history of the area. We were the first to rent in the season so there were a few things (light not working for example) but no showstoppers. Area was beautiful - secluded but very close to stores, etc. Would definitely stay again.

Host was good at communication. Some small things need attention such as some light switches did not work and some interior door handles installed backwards preventing doors from shuting. Other than that, it was a nice house.

Beautiful property on the water!!!

The house was amazing! So nice and well maintained. The location was perfect for the group; we rented a boat and had the best time on the river! Georgetown is very close so there were many food choices also. Mitch the owner was great - he communicated quickly and was a genuinely nice person. Wonderful trip!

peaceful place

pleasant home in a very peaceful area. easy access to the water and to georgetown. beaches close by and not too crowded ( however beach parking can be a little challenge). watch for copperheads if you have pets or smaller children. quaint little golf course and pub about a mile up the road. would stay again.

Gorgeous Property!!!

I cannot say enough about this gorgeous home! We held our small wedding at this location and it was absolutely stunning! The property is well maintained, the grounds are beautiful and the owner was so hopeful with every question and request we had! This home is right on the Black River with stunning views that were perfect for our wedding, as well as our quiet morning coffee! We saw eagles, ducks and alligators - as well as dolphins and lots of beautiful birds….truly stunning. The house was perfect for all our guests that stayed at the house for the duration of our stay, as well as the folks that came for the event. Parking was easy and bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice. I am so glad we found this little gem - not only was it perfect for our gathering, but just a beautiful spot to enjoy the area. We were so close to downtown, the beach, the marina - it was really easy. We will absolutely rent again!!

This was a fantastic place to stay. The house is very clean and comfortable with five large bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms The kitchen is well equipped with pots, pans and utensils. There is a view of the river from the den and kitchen table. The den is large with plenty of comfortable seating for watching football on the large screen TV. The neighborhood is safe and quiet with lots of parking. The boat landing and the dock made it very convenient to launch our 24 foot center console boat. We caught crab off the dock, had several fishing trips and took the boat to Georgetown for dinner and shopping. We also took the boat all the way to Backwoods Quail Club where we were shooting in a sporting clays tournament. The location of this house is perfect for all of our activities and dinner at home. The host, Mitchell is great. He was in close contact with us from the very beginning even recommending local fishing guides and what to do in the area. He offered for us to park on adjacent property if needed. This is an exceptionally clean, comfortable house that actually seems larger than described. Even if we wouldn’t have had other activities to attend to this would be a great house just to sit back and relax on the property under the oak trees. We will certainly stay here on any future trips to Georgetown.

We really enjoyed our stay. Location is great, right on the water, right at at private boat launch. Place was clean and tghe owner accommodating. It's a safe, quiet, residential neighborhood. Also went out with the fishing guide across the street, who was great. The owner warned us about bugs in May and he was right: they were terrible when we got there. But he sprayed some stuff and the fishing guide fogged the yard and they were fine after that. It's a big place with lost of bedrooms. We didn't use all of them but they were there. It's also close enough to the ocean that it's a short drive but in kind of a backwater which we preferred. And Georgetown was our kind of town. Only negatives were no toaster and no internet. If you're just staying for a day or two, it won't be an issue, but we stayed for more than a week, so ran up several hundred more in phone access fees to watch movies. Overally, it's fine.

Stayed for a wedding at Wedgefield - great location and beautiful spot. We enjoyed the screened in porch and had plenty of room for 3 couples and 2 young adults. Owner was great with communication and left a very nice fruit basket for us to enjoy. Highly recommend!
