Our peaceful retreat offers beautiful sunrises on Lake Winter. Our home has 5 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Enjoy fishing Lake Winter or check out the near by Chippewa Flowage. Tuscobia trail is less than 1 mile to access hundreds of miles of Northwoods for UTV and snowmobiles. This home can accommodate 10 guests in beds with additional sleeping for up to 2 guests on the sofas in main living room and loveseat hide abed in family room. The open concept kitchen has seating for 5 on the island and dining table seats 6-8. Enjoy your morning coffee on the screen porch watching the sunrise or end the day with moonlight on the lake. The porch offers the perfect spot to listen to loons, ducks and geese as well as observe the wonderful lake views. The firepit overlooks the lake. There are 3 adult kayaks with paddles and lifejackets available for guest use. Looking for something to do offsite, check out beautiful Winter Greenhouse, offering gorgeous spring beauty, Barker Lake golf course nearby offers 9 holes. Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest and Flambeau River State Forest offer wonderful nature to enjoy time outdoors. There are many local establishments for eating and drinking. Take a short trip to Hayward to enjoy the Lumberjack show, fishing museum or Sevenwinds Casino.
Our retreat provides starter paper products: paper towels, toilet paper and garbage bags. Each bedroom has linens and pillows for every bed. Bath towels (4) are provided for each bedroom. Hand towels are provided for each bathroom. We do not offer washer/dryer or laundry service during your stay, please plan accordingly if you will need additional towels or bedding. Hand soap and dish soap are provided. The kitchen has dishes, pots/pans, utensils, microwave, toaster, coffee maker(reusable filter provided), stove, fridge, waffle maker and crockpot. There is an additional fridge in the basement for additional cold food storage. A Traeger pellet grill available for use with a full bin of pellets will be provided. Please only use grilling pellets in the Traeger pellet grill. Enjoy your stay and use what you need, we ask that you return everything when you've finished using it.
Wi-fi is provided. There is a smart TV on main floor and TV with smart DVD player in family room. We have over a hundred DVD movies available for guests and many board games to enjoy after a day on the lake.
We do accept dog guests up to 2 dogs, 50 pounds or less.(see DOG POLICY) This is a dog friendly retreat and despite our best efforts there may still be pet hair after cleaning. We ask you kennel your dog if you will be out of the retreat for any period of time. Kennel is not provided, please be sure to bring you own pet containment/kennel. If your dog isn't housetrained, this is not the place for your pet. Respect our neighbors and keep your dog leashed when outdoors and manage the barking so everyone can enjoy the lake. Clean up your pet droppings every time your pet is outside.
We hope our guests enjoy their stay at our retreat but remember we are in the Northwoods and there will be nature that includes, mosquitoes, gnats, spiders etc. There will likely be dust and spiderwebs on outdoor tables/chairs and leaves about the outdoor space despite our best efforts to keep it clean, it is beyond our control. Weather, fish biting and other occurrences created by nature are beyond our control.
