2 Bedroom Cozy Beach Cottage with Water Access

Come and relax at "The Beach Hive" Cottage! Approximately 70 miles from Washington D.C., 14 miles from Patuxent River Naval Air Station, and 16 miles from Saint Mary's College. This beach cottage can sleep up to 7 guests (1 Queen, 2 full, and 1 twin bed). This cottage features everything you need from a fully stocked kitchen, cozy living room, and private bedrooms. It also features a front porch for sipping coffee and a screened back porch for evening cocktails. Water access is just a few minutes walk from the front porch. Enjoy dinner and drinks at Ruddy Duck Seafood house or famous stuffed ham from Chiefs Restaurant. There is a boat ramp within 1 mile of the cottage where you can put your boat/jet ski in the Potomac River or do some recreational fishing!

My family and I stayed here a few weeks ago when we were dropping off my niece at St. Mary’s College and we had a wonderful time! The house was clean, had everything we needed, and we loved going by the water and having dinner at the Ruddy Duck (we went two nights in a row)! We’d definitely stay again :)

The cottage was just perfect and had everything we needed. Owner was very accommodating and quick to respond. We loved the little beach and proximity to other attractions in the area. Beautiful!

It was a very clean and safe property. It’s exactly as shown on the pictures. Michelle is a great landlord and she showed us the way to the water access. It’s walkable < 5 min walk.

Cottage stay

This was a great little cottage and was perfect for our stay. We wanted to be close to Valey Lee and the location was great. We will definitely consider staying again.

Just the perfect little home.

My family and I are so grateful to have found this perfect little cottage. It was nice and cozy; clean and spacious. The location was not far at all from grocery stores, gas stations, or parks. We really enjoyed staying at Michelle's cottage.

Wonderful weekend getaway

We were in town for a weekend event and wanted a small and convenient place to stay, this worked out well! A short walk to the beach, but the weather wasn’t very nice so it was empty and we didn’t stay long. The house is cute, and had everything we needed.

Cottage for quiet getaway

Nice little house if you are looking for an escape from the day-to-day bustle. Ideal if you want to hang out and read. Basic accommodations in a rural neighborhood. Not much to do in town, accept visit the lighthouse. Bay access is not far on foot if you want to launch a canoe or kayak. Our only gripe was that AC is listed as an amenity but there were no AC units. Maybe they are available in the summer, but it was hot for half of our trip (mid April) and we could have used AC. A grill is also listed, but it was rusty and unusable. Communication with the host was very prompt.

Our stay was disappointing due to several inaccuracies in the listing. It advertised “beach access,” but the nearest public beach was a 30-minute drive. The home also lacks central AC, which wasn’t clear — there were only two window units, and just one was in a bedroom, making it hard to stay cool.The house had a strong odor when we arrived, and the grill was rusty and unusable. On the plus side, the furnishings were newer, and the host was responsive and allowed early check-in. Still, the experience didn’t match what was advertised. Future guests should be aware of these issues before booking.

Great little spot

it’s not fancy, but it’s clean and it’s easy to find and if you have to be in St. Mary city or near Leonardtown, it’s a great place to rest your head. We would take it over a hotel any day and we’ve done many many trips down to St. Mary’s College for swimming through the years. This is the first time we chose VRBO and we can honestly say we would do it again it just makes sense for our family. special shout out to Michelle as she was extremely helpful and extremely responsive. Anytime we reached out to her.
